I'd take Montreal, if only for their passports alone. Having 5 NI on the O Line just gives you so many more options on O and D.

But it's not even flames or nothing, no one cared about the flames before 04 right? Now that Iginla and Kipprusoff are gone and it's shaping up to be a real rough stretch ahead for that team with the fat fool Feaster in charge you can expect to see that bandwagon empty too. Calgary is very much a bandwagon town is what I've noticed in my time here. If it's hip to be a fan everyone is a fan if not then no one cares. I'm doing my best to convince everyone I know who isn't already a CFL fan that it's good times but it's a losing battle sometimes.
Calgary really is a lemming town. I remember one year I was invited to watch the Chucks during Stampede in the box of some oil company. All the execs and junior VP suck-ups showed up in the +33C heat in their stupid Stampede cowboy gear, boots, cowboy shirt, jeans, hats etc. I just said "**** it" and wore sandals, shorts and T-Shirt. I think I had basically every guy in that box come up and lecture me that I wasn't wearing "proper Stampede attire" and I just laughed at them while they wiped the sweat away from their eyes in agony, and just kept saying "I'm from Kelowna. I don't have to conform". LOL

He won't help get it built that's for sure. I don't think he likes sports unless it's cricket.
I doubt he'd know the difference between a football, cricketball, basketball or meatball. Actually, given his current rather rotund girth, I think he'd recognize a meat-ball. LOL

There's no McMahon Brothers around to spur development of a new stadium... as in 1959. Mostly because oil companies aren't owned by Albertans anymore but by the Chinese. These guys & others from other countries won't spend a dime in the community.
Well I own a few shares in my RRSP of Lightstream aka Petrobakken. Maybe I can talk to them. It's all a matter of getting the public will to do it. Politicians aren't going to support something unless they see a public gain to them - ie getting re-elected. Too bad the stadium wasn't in the floodzone, then at least there'd be an excuse to tear it down. I saw Naheed at the game on Friday being interviewed on TSN, and actually having known him back in school I'd guess that was the first football game he's ever been to.

here is a tip. if you think a guys is out of he league, check sask or edm roster. if he isn't there he's out of the league
yeah that's good advice, given the high percentage of has-beens that those two teams keep around. Your method would require me checking their rosters, which I'm too lazy/apathetic to bother doing.

Matthews - D.Pierce - Carr - triple towers - that will create headaches for oppossing DCs.
Just change the playbook to lame duck lobs to the middle of the field, everyone go for the jump ball.
EDIT: in before JBR/Brandon say "isn't that our playbook now?"....

the esks o-line was giving up so much pressure Reilly was clearly frustrated and afraid and just not able to get anything going. Feel kind of bad for edmonton fans because TIllman ****** that team like they were an asian babysitter.
I think you've been watching a bit too much porn lately....
-
Edmonton is building a nasty OL. Too bad for Mike Reilly being able to block someone isn't a requirement, just a nasty demeanour.
LOL!
Yeah if hitting guys hard on the run back after they've picked off yet another bad pass is a judge of an OL, then Edmonton wins hands down! It was nice to see Diamond Ferri laid out though, I honestly didn't know that d-bag was still in the league.

Buck has to limit those floating ducks. That first pass he threw from scrimmage was so bad even Geoff Tisdale could pick it off. Then you know it's bad.

From today's Freep:
At today's practice, defensive lineman Zach Anderson was held off the field to rest, after he got kicked in the shin at Monday's session. The first-year pro, who is up off the practice roster and slated to replace injured JT Gilmore, will be ready to go in Montreal, Burke said.

I think it was the way Carr did it - agreed verbally to a contract with us, then signed with Edmonton for a bit more and didn't even let us counter it. It was just extremely unprofessional, and as often happens, those kind of moves end up biting you in the butt. If he had kept up his level of play, I see no reason why he wouldn't still be a Bomber right now.

I'm going to go with CJ Gable
who?

KBF, I know we beat Montreal in Montreal last year but they have so many big play weapons that it's going to be hard to stop them. And the Bombers don't have that fan support to pick them up. If Buck plays poorly it's going to be a long night. On his shoulders.
As far as Kavis Reed goes, does he last the season? Will Hervey fire an old teammate? Is that the Eskimo way?
Hey Iso , I know it's going to be a tough one to win in Montreal. AC is especially effective at the start of the year. We definitely got the short end of the stick playing them twice to start the year, when AC is at his best. By September I'd wager he's about 75% of where he is now, just due to wear and tear, and I've seen that drop-off get worse and worse as he gets older. Anyway, I just want to see the Bombers put in a good try. I liked what I saw last week. The Bombers didn't just roll over and die after going down 14. In 2012, the game would have been already over at that point.
-
SSK cuts Greg Carr.
ouch. Talk about a bad decision to leave the Bombers. If he had stayed we probably would have kept him. We utilized him quite effectively. So do we bring him in for a look or just stay with Doug Pierce/Anderson as back-ups?
-
Burke said that Anderson got kicked in the shin but should be good to go. He definitely wants to play, his whole family will be watching the game in the US for the July 4th holiday.

C'mon MOAB, Hervey's Eskimos look a mess but we're 0-1 with qb issues same as last year. Nothing's changed. If fans are glad Mack is our GM then we're in trouble.
we play any other team other than Calgary in Week 1 at home and I think we are 1-0 right now. I didn't see much from a lot of other teams. Edmonton is brutal. BC has taken a big step back. The Riders only looked good because they got to beat up on the Esks. Toronto and Hamilton's defences look like swiss cheese, and Hamilton is going to find all new ways to lose again this year. Calgary and Montreal look like the early favorites, but if AC and Tate go down early, all bets are off.
-
iirc, some fans thought Hervey schooled Mack and is a better GM, especially on that Reilly signing.
im glad Mack is our GM and not Hervey, thats for sure.
Well Hervey schooled Mack I guess in that he was willing to engage in tampering to get Reilly, while Mack wanted to follow the rules. Stupid Mack. I assume that the league was willing to look the other way on the Reilly tampering given all the tampering that went on in the Ricky Ray deal. I doubt that Mack would have been afforded the same courtesy.
-
oh man. That is brutal. Looks like Hervey is picking up from where Tillman left off in terms of letting the Eskimos get ass-raped. Unbelievable.

McMahon Stadium has the most uncomfortable seating in the CFL... as far as I'm concerned, any fans who attend multiple games there should be commended
have to agree, been there to games many times, and it wasn't very enjoyable. Of course, almost every time I was there was to watch the Bombers get pounded...soo....
-
what was the trade exactly? The way Zontar wrote it it makes no sense whatsoever. Rockhill and Kanya for Masoli, Wojt and Lawrence?
