If Neufeld can hold his own at RT then this could be a good thing. Dan Knapp seems to have won the RG position purely because of his physical awesomeness? And because he's such an upgrade over Morley? Not sure why else we'd start an import at that position in the future, unless we have that kind of roster flexibility.

With Mack, Pencer, Etienne and Poblah now gone, what are we going to argue about?

Watched the 4th quarter again, that sack/fumble on Brohm with around 5 minutes left was all on Pencer. The Argo guy Whiteside just walked right around him like he wasn't even there. No footspeed, no blocking. Either he's hurt or he's just not that good, but he definitely was a turnstyle out there on almost every play.

The problem wasn't the trades, the problem was most trades were for import players. Now if you're making up for it by signing NIs in free agency that's a different tack, but the Bombers never had the cash to be free agent players. Not totally true. Taman had that big coup in 2005 when he signed Kamau Peterson out of free agency...that went well... That one year Taman traded a first rounder for Gauthier I couldn't complain. Starting NI tackles are gold Jerry gold....

We got Doug Brown's rights from Calgary for a third round pick in 2003. The Stamps weren't complaining too much (though I'm sure they'd have preferred to have Doug playing for them) as that pick turned out to be Mike Labinjo. I looked back at the years 2001-2007 and what is even more amazing to me is from the years 2001 - 2006 we not only didn't have any first round picks, we had no seconds either. We ended up getting our first pick in the third round almost every year, and some years we didn't even have a third rounder (like in 2003). In 2007, we had a second rounder, and we took Corey Mace, who never played a down for us.

It's called "doing your home work". Mack wasn't really a fan of doing that. /mackbashing I just hope that with the new regime, this doesn't happen again, especially with an o-lineman. I doubt we'll ever see Stephen Alli here either.

I hear you Iso but to be fair, last year he looked like he was starting to make a contribution until he got walloped in the head and was essentially done for the year. Worst first rounder ever? I don't know...there's been some real stinkers, and for a lot of draft years, we never even had a first round pick. I think Pencer is more of a bust then Jade, as at least Jade saw the field. Not bad? Why do you think we finished 3-13 last year? Because of our Canadian talent or more specifically lack thereof. We have to restock at almost every position. Especially offensive line. I guess he means our NI talent now is better than it was the end of 2013. The advantage of having such a poor season last year is that the bar is so low, anything is an improvement.

Speaking of hindsight being 20-20 I still think back to how we were debating between Poblah and Laurent in that supplemental draft... oh well I do know we definitely felt that Coehoorn would have been a better pick than Jade. Other guys that went right after Jade - Ianuzzi, Tyler Holmes. Sigh.
