I don't care if you never played the game, and I don't mind negativity if it is intelligent and insightful, but at the very least, the person being paid to report on the game should be a fan of the game, like us, and possess basic knowledge of the rules, actually - more than basic knowledge truth be told. Other than Tait and Penton in some ways, I don't see a lot of true football fans in the media in Winnipeg. Other cities have the same problem, but the difference is our guys are masquerading as knowledgeable folk, and their stupidity and apathy to the game we love is exposed week after week. Because we fans call them on it.

If not I fear our offensive potency will be flaccid. -

Well, the depth is still pretty shabby. The talent level should not have been as maligned as it was. Depth - Thomas is not allowed to get injured this season, and if Swiston isn't healthy by the end of the week....well it's getting pretty bare bones on our roster. Love the extensions, and am assuming that part of adding one year includes a small pay raise for this year. These guys are earning it. I agree that we need more DL depth. I hope that one of Mulumba or Bilikudi is coming our way in the near future. Also - we do have a few other National OL on the roster, but that being said, it will be a sad day if we have to use them. Gord Hinse is the only one I see being able to step in and actually play, given his prior experience. -
Riders Trade Dwight Anderson to Argos

Just spit-balling here, but if you are fighting with your team-mates, then this may apply: -
Watching the game again, I think the TSN turning point was when Bruce Johnson stripped the ball from Marcus Henry on the goal line in the fourth quarter. The play resulted in the RB's having to settle for a field goal, and the next play was the Washington return TD.

Any updates on Willy's hand?
kelownabomberfan replied to ubbullrun's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I liked that one play where they faked the hand off to Grigsby and swung it out to Pontbriand for a fourteen yarder. The 1984 Grey Cup was won using this play about 20 times. -

Thanks for that. I just want to shake my fist at the sky one more time and shout "BLEEP YOU TSN!!!" -
Khari and Glenn seem to have similar chemistry to Goltz and Crowton.

well the Alouettes look a lot more ready to play than the Lions, who are stinking it up. I did like that last series by the Lions, first Poblah drops a pass that Glenn put right in his hands, and then he doesn't come off the field and costs the team a 10 yard too many men penalty. I was hoping Poblah could revive his career in BC but he is looking like the Kito we had in Winnipeg. Matt Dunigan said it right "This kid has to start producing". -
Drew Willy's Relentless Drive to CFL Stardom
kelownabomberfan replied to ubbullrun's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Last night's comeback had me thinking of the 2012 Banjo Bowl when Brainiac Burke decided to punt with 36 seconds left and gave the Riders the ball back on the 20 yard line and Willy drove the Riders down the field in three plays and won the game on a FG on the last play of the game. Here's the second half again: Willy showed great poise in this game. You just knew that he was going to be a good one. -
This post sounds like you are trolling yourself?

Jump on the ball, then try and sell it as an incomplete pass. Instead of trying to be a ref he should have been a football player in that situation.
-
Yeah what the hell was that? He just stood there and let the Ottawa guy jump on the ball.
-
Maybe Grigsby was put in charge of blocking in the chat room....
-
he'll just have to throw left-handed next game or just hand off on every down. It's just Montreal anyway so our D is probably going to score two or three TD's on their own.
-
Yeah I was wondering that too. I am assuming that we will get an update at some point this weekend on Greaves. It always causes havoc on the line when an O-Lineman goes down during the game. I was going "Oh no" when I saw Greaves go down. At least the Bombers struggled through the adversity and prevailed. I was impressed with Ottawa's O-Line play as well, pretty good for a bunch of cast-offs, and the rookie NI they have playing tackle did well too I thought.
-
Well I have to admit I just about filled my pants when I saw the replay of Willy's hand bending backwards like that.
-
Not only that, I think Walters and O'Shea have to go. That performance last night shows that Walters just can't find talent and O'Shea is clueless as a HC.
