Wylie post practice
You're right, all import OL and all prospects are the same.

Wylie post practice
If this is the kind of entertainment we get from the mandatory assistant interviews, I'm ALL for it. It's about time somebody tore into some of the stupidity that gets peddled by our local media. Notice how when Wylie asks a football related question, NOBODY in that scrum has an answer for it? They can look at numbers all they want on a piece of paper but ask them to actually talk about what goes on down at field level and they're speechless.

general trade thread to spit ball ideas
What I don't quite understand is that after continually having your proposals critiqued on not only this forum, but another Jets forum as well, you still have difficulty grasping the idea that most of the suggestions you come up with are incredibly far-fetched. Yzerman's reaction if Chevy ever pitched this trade?

First cuts
Cone, Collins, Robinson, Walker, Patrick and Celiscar gone Keeping, Knox and Richards on 6-game IR.

Throw the ball downfield
Remind me again how you know the receivers were open based on that zoomed in camera angle we get watching on TV?

Bombers To Hire Former Riders Scout
Not entirely sure how our old national scout (which people seem to be confusing as scouting for "national" players) got a promotion to the NFL but hey, I'm not about to jump on the new guy quite yet. Seems like yet again, we've scouted a pretty poor crop of players so maybe some new blood is necessary.

you are off to a wonderful start here.

You can talk about the great Chris Jones all you want, his defense last year had 3 more sacks than Winnipeg and we produced a grand total of 3 sacks from the end position opposite of Westerman. For all the disguised blitzing and different looks a Chris Jones defense gives, his elite linebackers in Edmonton put together 5 less sacks than our "awful" ones here in Winnipeg. We've since added the #1 and #2 ranked DTs in quarterback sacks last year. Getting to the QB shouldn't be a problem for us.

Guaranteed you are wrong.

Ouch.

That's not what he said. He said our problem last year was our DL couldn't do a damn thing to create pressure, which was largely why we struggled so much. Gave the QB way too much time to throw. We fixed that this year.

You can see what you see all you want - you're going to talk performance in a pre-season game where we sat our best defensive corner and put our other one on the bench for about 95% of the defensive snaps? Go for it. Our secondary this preseason is not at all indicative of what you're going to see this season and neither is yours. You have a young, raw defense that is going to go through growing pains. Even your experienced players aren't experienced with eachother. That is going to be a problem for you guys early on. The things you're saying make me wonder if you even watched the game. Montreal "called the dogs off early"? We sat Willy before they sat Glenn down.

Your defense is better than ours based on what, exactly? I mean, I trust Chris Jones as a football guy as much as you do, but right now, going off what the common fan has for knowledge, it's pretty much impossible to say you look better than us on paper. Our DL is better although it's probably a lot closer than most Bomber fans think ... I may even give you the edge but I don't like your interior as much, our LB are basically even on paper although it's tough to not give the Bombers the edge given that our guys are going into their second year as a unit and yours have never played together and your secondary is an absolute mess until proven otherwise. I think the process will eventually show to have been worth it, but right now your secondary looks absolutely atrocious - you have a guy playing corner with your first team defense that was a receiver until training camp. Give me a break.

It's pretty obvious what has happened although for the sake of his privacy, I'm sure they'll never talk about it. They restructured his deal to give him upfront money so he could address the legal issues he's having at home with his family. It was never a holdout.

I'm so used to seeing fans overvalue their own players that it's even weirder to see one who grossly undervalues them.

BC Lions @ SaskJones Implosions (preseason game)
Not bad for a rookie though. And he's got pretty much every attribute you'd look for. I wish he was a Bomber.

It's going to be Roosevelt who everyone over here is sleeping on, but he's going to have a great year.

Preseason. Seen some alright things. Chiles' mitts are startlingly bad though. Smith looks decent running around back there. SSK defensive line looks strong.

Cuts and Keepers
Pretty smart guy, I like a lot of what he has to say. I don't often agree with what he says on the defensive side of the ball, but he absolutely gives good offensive analysis.

Flamingo - it's central to the strip, affordable and the pool is incredible.

Odds and Sods - XGame 1 - Montreal at Winnipeg
They didn't show Duron Carter with his mouth shut all night, he just went on and on yapping at anyone in his vicinity. All the talent but so annoying.

Coach's Show
Golly, relax. No "sources". I have no relevant connections within the Bomber locker room these days, haven't for a while. This is just a story I heard last year. No "insider" stuff, just a story passed around over a few beers.

I can't tell you anything specific but let's just say his name rhymes with Wemond Tashington.
