  1. Most will paint last night's offense with the same brush as last year and the year previous, but quite honestly our OL and our play calling were fine. I was impressed with Lapo and I think Willy got adequate protection. He played terrible. He flat out didn't execute the plays that were there to be made and if that's our trouble right now, that's a lot better than a broken offense with the inability to protect our QB. There was a play in the second quarter where Willy had Smith on a seam route and simply overthrew him. If that ball is on the money it's a 75 yard touchdown. He missed a wide open Adams twice as well. I'm willing to let that one be chalked up TJ a bad game. But no doubt he needs to get better. He worked through it as the game went on and was a lot better in the second half but we need a better effort from him all game. Lets see how next week goes.
  2. I don't understand why we would ever want to dump defensemen for forwards, other than this whole expansion draft talk. We walk away from the draft with Laine and Tkachuk? Great, where the hell do all these forwards play? Without getting into line combinations, that's Laine, Connor, Wheeler, Tkachuk, Little, Perreault, Ehlers, Scheifele, Dano, Armia, Lowry, Copp in our 12 - not factoring in Stafford (who will be gone) or any of our forward prospects. If anything, we need to be condensing the amount of forward prospects we have, not trading potential #1 D-men for more of them.
  3. That's a scary defensive line but holy cow is their OL as iffy as ours. Jacob Ruby on the blind side? Good luck with that all night, Westerman is going to eat his lunch.
  4. Can we add my picks? lol I totally missed this thread but I wanted to roll with Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary the rest of the way. Not worried about missing yesterday's game as I picked Toronto anyways.
  5. And to all the people who question our Canadian depth - is anyone worried that we aren't using more than one DI on defense tomorrow? No? Canadian depth allows us that luxury.
  6. Laine, Matthews, who cares Like Floyd said, at least we're not debating lower level guys. We get one of the elite.
  7. OK forget being clever I'm going with Harris.
  8. I think the assumption is that if they didn't accept PR spots in BC, they won't in Saskatchewan either.
  9. BC 12-6 Calgary 12-6 Winnipeg 10-8 Edmonton 8-10 Saskatchewan 5-13 Toronto 12-6 Hamilton 9-9 Montreal 7-11 Ottawa 6-12
  10. Pretty sure Adams will go. Worth noting - Montreal is also starting two rookies in the secondary.
  11. They'd be insane to let Franklin go for free.
  12. They're keeping Castillo as insurance. Big deal. Not the spectacle it's being made out to be.
  13. BC cut T-Dre Player, 2nd round pick in 2014, who started 9 games for them at right guard last year. 24 years old, born in Winnipeg ... is there any reason this kid doesn't immediately join the Bombers? This is exactly the stroke of luck we needed if we can bring him in.
  14. I think the best we can hope for Macho is that he doesn't suck ALL the time.
  15. yes
  16. I'm not going to be surprised if he's the only "surprise" cut.
  17. Bucknor being cut doesn't entirely surprise me.
  18. I assume you're very knowledgeable about your job. It would be nice if all of our media were also. Seems like it SHOULD be a prerequisite.
  19. Mike replied to Floyd's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
    Makes sense - Butcher will develop a lot more by taking care of the prep program they'll send him off with and getting the opportunity to take CIS reps.;
  20. None of them are - I would imagine Butcher will be on our negotiation list and head back to school, while the others will be see ya later alligator.
  21. Mike replied to Floyd's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Butcher could also always go back to school and get neg listed.
  22. Well he's closer to 30 than to 10 ...
  23. Teravainen and Drouin are equal on what planet? Drouin just had his coming out party in Tampa Bay and figures into their roster for the foreseeable future. Teravainen doesn't even have a role in Chicago that suits him.
