  1. No way do I want Muamba. Unfortunately for him, his agent is going to be one of the biggest reasons he never amounts to much more than a temporary mercenary in the CFL. He's probably going to try to negotiate a one year deal at this point.
  2. Your initial comment was that our line needed to perform better. What part of a Canadian passport makes a player perform better? The advantage is the flexibility gained elsewhere but that does SFA for the performance of our line itself, which was your whole concern in the first place. So again, I'll ask - when you're asking for a higher level of performance from our offensive line, what would pursuing Bourke have accomplished?
  3. You keep saying this and as JBR said, you're living in a dream world. Other than "I've heard of him", what makes you think Bourke was worth pursuing? He's had a big drop off in play and I wouldn't trade Bryant for him straight up to be honest.
  4. Does that make him perform better?
  5. Tell us more about how downgrading our OL personnel will improve our OL.
  6. Go back and focus on him if you have any games PVRed. Just watch him and him alone. Frequently, he blocked absolutely nobody.
  7. don't really need much better than average at best at field corner. Investing big into a field corner spot that sees three targets a game is a waste. That's why Bucknor is there.
  8. sounds like you're getting caught up in fantasy football a wee bit much. Having Wild, Bass and Muamba on the field together without a SAM LB out there would be an absolute disaster and we'd be routinely giving up 200 yards a game to any slotback who understood a basic route tree. Especially considering one of those "ball hawks" you speak of is playing safety right now because he's a very below average man defender who can't handle a slotback on his own.
  9. That would be a horrible LB lineup. Who covers the pass? None of them?
  10. They're trading him because they can't afford him. We'll be cutting guys and offering to take the salary for a minimal return if we offered up for Muamba - which I don't think we will or need to.
  11. Floyd always likes to pick against the grain just to be different.
  12. Ripper calling Campbell one of the best OTs in the league. May be true but did you even know that before you dealt for him yesterday?
  13. I really believe if they had signed Laurent, they would have dealt Martin's rights.
  14. Everyone wonders about how much money WE are spending ... Montreal has probably spent more money than anyone in the past 6 months. Muamba, Martin, Stafford, Carter ... that's probably close to 750k right there.
  15. Sherritt staying in Edmonton.
  16. Steep price to pay for Campbell. I do like most of the moves the Riders made today - Foster and Lawrence are both very underrated players. Gainey, however, is garbage.
  17. I gotta be honest man - you're going to be disappointed if you think the Bombers are in on any high price tag items going forward. If any signings are made, they'll be of the value variety. No more big fish.
  18. 23-0 to be honest
  19. I love how every time I mention that Walters is actually spending money the exact opposite way Taman did, I get crickets over there. If they pretend they don't read it, it's not true.
  20. I think there's a good chance Hurl is one of the victims of a purge or maybe a restructuring. Or maybe we fit him in for one more year - but he's kind of unnecessary at this point. I understand depth but he may not be required any longer due to our upgraded ratio. Realistically, our locked in Canadians at this point will be Harris, Chungh, Goossen, Westerman and Shologan. I would operate assuming we trot out 8 again, so between Bucknor, Waggoner, Neufeld, Hurl and Kohlert, we need 3 (minimum 2) - is Hurl one of those? Or is it more efficient to start Bucknor at field corner, Kohlert as our WR2 and Neufeld at guard? You have to think the third OL is one of the Canadian spots, so again ... more efficient to have a Canadian at field corner or in the very middle of our D? Seems like an obvious choice to me. Hurl was a ratio necessity last year but he no longer is.
  21. The thing I find funniest is that you have a guy like Rider_Stronson over there (who I have a lot of respect for, he's a very smart CFL fan) talking about how our build is so "Tamanesque" because we're spending like mad in FA but then in the same thread, he brags about how smart Jones is because they have cap room and are now set up to spend on day two and beyond. All in the name of "value".
  22. Anyone expecting much more than the official Cummings announcement tomorrow is getting greedy. We'll be done aside from maybe a depth signing at this point. We went big today.
  23. Seems like the current ratio breakdown will be 3 NI OL (Chungh, Goossen, Neufeld) along with RB (Harris), DE (Westerman), DT (Shologan), REC (Kohlert) and probably a third spot on defense. We'll continue starting 8 Canadians.
  24. I'll take 5 years 38 million all damn day.
  25. Impossible for you to say this - they never publicized which player was auctioned off first. Hypothetically, the Bombers could have had whichever one they wanted but there's absolutely no guarantee they could've had both and it would certainly not have been for a first and third rounder - it would've cost the first and the second if it was at all possible.
