I'd love to see McCune in here. His price tag might keep him out of Blue and Gold however .. especially if the team balked at the figure Ferri was asking for.

I agree re: inside o-line. It's scary. Sadly, the only way it's going to get better in the forseeable future is a prospect stepping up. Guys who can anchor an o-line just don't make it to free agency frequently enough to bank on that route. They could go for a trade, but the price is going to be high. It'll be a great day when we can stop fretting over the o-line. I think Greaves has developed into a VERY solid Guard Except that all too often he still looks very much like a converted DT. He needs to elevate his game more consistently because, as it stands now, he still gets beat quite regularly. Greaves is still something of a project.

Just a few thinking of how the ratio shakes out for us right now .. putting together a few ideas of who we might see as the 7 NIs .. thinking: Greaves Morley Swiston / Pencer / Neufeld - they'll need one of these guys to step up and take a spot Watson Kohlert Lucas / Thomas Muamba / Newman / Bucknor Depending on the package, probably see a healthy dose of Pontbriand and Fitzgerald as well .. the interior of our line makes me want to vomit .. none of Greaves, Morley or Swiston (et al.) are guys that I'd consider anchors ..

Just providing a list of NI-WR we have on our roster right now (not commenting on their viability as starters): Watson Kohlert Brescacin Feoli-Guidino Renaud (Taylor) Fitzgerald (drafted with an H back type role in mind I believe) Guys drafted and coming back: Alli (Not sure about DiCroce) It's going to be interesting to see how they approach the ratio this season.

Don't disagree but have to think who is setting the expectation (for the player) such that sides are so far apart .. that said ... Questions of the ratio aside .. we also have a guy in Jones who acquitted himself well when pressed into action late last season .. it's going to come down to coaching and establishing some continuity / familiarity as a unit ..

Agree that Myddleton wasn't the answer. I'd actually consider him an average-to-below-average guard across the league. I'm still not sold that missing out on Craig Butler meant we missed out on a big fish. We signed his backup, whom many are saying could be ready to start. We've also got Sofa, who underperformed massively last year. A determined offseason could bring him back hungry to compete and contribute. I'm grading it a B; because we got Chris Randle (starting HB), Nick Moore (27-yr old with high ceiling who has displayed ability to play SB at high level), Graig Newman (could start at S for us, but his floor is that he's an ST demon), and brought Kohlert back into the fold (2nd NI WR). We're also changing the culture by letting Jovon and BStew walk. If we're including Willy and Banks, it's a B+. An A+ would have meant Josh Bourke, and that didn't happen, but Ted Laurent and/or the return of Chris Matthews could make it an A. Armchair .. you summed up my thoughts as well .. I gave us a B .. would have considered an A / A+ had we been able to landed a ratio busting NI ..

I haven't worked on Cardio (exclusively) for over a year. Lift heavy 4 days a week - followed up with a MetCon. Oly once a week. When I'm lifting alone, I like to have music - part of a group or at Oly - I want to hear the cues and the coaching, I want to be more fundamentally sound.

Stewart always struck me as a "Robert Bean Type" player .. a guy who relied a lot on his athleticism to get him out of a jam rather than solid coverage skills .. he's a bigger guy .. physical and can run .. solid special teams player .. but .. as JBR pointed out .. never really took the step when challenged with bigger / other roles.

I think, more than anything, it's knowing that we are active players in FA that is heartening to see. A couple of solid, not spectacular, FA pick ups .. the additions of Banks and Randle .. we're relevant and engaged at a time where we've been notably absent the last few years ..
