  1. You don't buy the fact that there is a drop off in talent between our starters and our backups? You don't buy that guys who've *NEVER* played a CFL regular season game may not execute to the same level as the starters .. interesting .. For the record .. we *DID* blitz during the game .. Ray did a good job of getting the ball out of his hands .. but .. beyond that .. the Argos offensive line .. backs .. did a tremendous job picking up that pressure.
  2. It couldn't possibly have to do with the fact we were down ... 2 starting defensive tackles 2 starting linebackers And had a host of new guys seeing their first, significant game action .. no .. it's the co-ordinator who failed us that game .. the simple fact is, we don't have the same speed or push on defense when 1/3 of our starters aren't playing. Who'd have thought that? But let's not sell the Argo's short .. they have a good offensive line .. they schemed well .. and they took it to the Bombers. But please don't simplistically toss blame around without first considering the why.
  3. And let's be totally honest here .. Hamilton went through a stretch where they tried to find that next guy .. they couldn't .. Montreal is going to have to do it very soo and they really have nobody in the pipe capable of leading that team .. Edmonton still hasn't turned the corner .. Calgary has the.. next Buck Pierce as their starter .. it's *NOT* an easy thing to 'fix the QB position' .. sooner every team .. every fanbase .. is going to realize that.
  4. The team isn't bad .. the offense is .. we have a championship calibre defense when all our starters are in (hell we're pretty damn good when we have backups in) .. if the offense could be average .. this would be a very dangerous team.
  5. I think, in part, it's due to the fact they've rejigged things to try and keep Buck upright .. protect him .. Buck's inability to *DO ANYTHING* in the offense is dragging the whole thing down ..
  6. Wow .. I have to say .. it's nice to watch Montreal implode..
  7. I feel the same way. He's been willing to expend political capital to do things right .. to build this team for the long haul and ensure it's sustainable. We've come a long way in three seasons .. unfortunately for Mack, his coaches have been unable to correct the one thing that's sorely hindered this team ... consistent offensive output. That will ultimately be his downfall ,, the powers that be ARE the sort who cow to pressure.
  8. It's a shame if it goes down like this .. I think Creehan / Burke are tremendous coordinators and losing them (and the influence over our defense) would hurt .. hopefully the team can right the ship and we can make some progress.
  9. Add Sears back to the list of wounded:
  10. This is all I will say about Crowton and the gameplan for tonight:
  11. Ray in the face of relentless pressure ..
  12. Argos are going to fall flat on their face ..
  13. That's a little disturbing ..
  14. You win the internetz! Bravo.
  15. Given the choice between sudden change and a punt .. I'll take the punt. I'll also take a quarterback who does what's asked of him by the OC .. it was one of the more damning criticisms leveled against Elliott. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of Pierce and I think the offense is wasting the efforts of a championship calibre defense .. but the organization recognized Elliott wasn't the long term solution here .. they moved on .. and are evaluating Goltz and Hall ..
  16. I don't have an issue with Burke's comments or that he expressed his opinion about the incident openly. West's play in practice was stupid. Period. You have to execute with discipline and awareness .. what you do in practice translate directly over to game day. This incident shows a complete lack of both of those qualities. The loss of Watson hurts .. but it hurts us no more than any other year Watson has gone down to injury. We all like to talk about the depth we have, the talented players who just need a chance to show their stuff .. well .. this is it.
  17. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added non-import linebacker Philippe Dubuisson-Lebon to their practice roster. Dubuisson-Lebon (6-2, 221, Sherbrooke, DOB: June 19, 1988 in Montréal, Québec) was released by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats earlier this season after appearing in the team’s week one matchup against Toronto. He joined Hamilton’s practice roster in October of last year following two seasons at Sherbrooke where made 30.5 tackles and 2.5 sacks as a member of the Vert et Or.
  18. Why buck a trend .. I'll go with Sheets.
  19. The difference is that receivers in this system *ARE* getting open. The throws are there. Pierce isn't making them. That's not to say that there aren't issues with what Crowton is trying to do but things would look markedly better if QB1 makes quicker decisions and could hit the broad side of a barn.
  20. And getting beat up in the process wouldn't be a bad thing either ..
  21. Nice to see you posting over here BFFC .. welcome! As for the game .. should be a good one .. always fun and for the most part .. the Saskabush fans who make the trip are pretty decent .. you're in for a great time!
  22. I'd rather a DB interfere with a receiver if they're beat / going down and give the defense a chance to regroup and get off the field than give up an easy 6 points. Simple fact is, the coverage was decent good on that particular play. The unfortunate thing is JJ lost his footing .. but he still managed to prevent a walk-in touchdown by Bruce.
  23. Until teams realized that he was more or less a one trick pony .. then his production fell way off ..
