Coached ringette when my daughter went from 8 thru 18  and hockey when my son went from 4 thru 16 so have a couple theories...
Ringette is a non- collision sport, much like basketball.  There is a ton of contact, and getting more aggressive as coached by the more aggressive AA coaches ( remember this is a personal theory based on observation) who are coaching based on what is and isn't being called as penalties
Ringette only has two on ice officials and most of the time they need to watch the ring , to see who has control,to watch the markings on the ice - those lines at the top of the circle and the crease lines are more important in the rules than in hockey,  - so their vision is almost always down - contact above the waist is rarely called unless truly aggressive,  and then often miss called based on the outcome that they see when they transfer their line of sight
If ever a sport needed a 3rd ref., ringette is it - it's essentially playing hockey with two linesmen and no ref
Also from a young age the coaches are taught to teach the boys how to take a hit and how to skate safe - shoulders up, eyes up, protect the head
And never skate straight on into the boards to retrieve the puck, skate in at an angle- sadly I realized this too late to really help my daughter and those teams - but if you watch a ringette game you'll cringe how often a girl will skate full bore straight at the ring along the boards-
Ever notice the lack of the Stop sign on the upper back of ringette jerseys ?
So long way of me saying it's because of the lack of coaching safety from the youngest ages and the lack of the 3rd ref  based on the misbelief  it is a non contact sport

Negotiations begin Monday between the CFL and the CFLPA. Give and get. The players should get more, be it compensation and/or remuneration.
But - they can’t get silly.
The CFL is unique. Professional - Canadian home town unique. An Organization that has been around, in one form or another, for over 100 years.
But - the CFL can’t only afford all the asks. And the League can’t ignore all the asks.
Some of the demands from the CFLPA don’t take in the quandaries that the League has faced over the years, and will continue to face going forward.
    Hence CFL 2.0
Comparing the CFL with other professional leagues, for negotiations, simply cannot be done.
All us CFL fans want is a fair negotiation process and understanding.
    From both sides.
The season must not be jeopardized in any shape or form.
Fan support and TV broadcasting are hinging on a fair resolution.
    Make it happen..

    Thumbs up to this
Now have never seen a game from any of these leagues, but am picturing semi pro level or worse- there will be some talent and skill, but not a ton
So now assuming we're not seeing high end skill with top coaching ,  the cfl game and rules would be far more entertaining than 4 down rules ,

No 17 to 85 your wrong. Its the apathy in the larger markets that is the plague. They bleed Green while we bleed Blue. If all the fans were as passionate for the teams like ours..this league would stand proud like it deserves to do..no where else to players still play for something rather than the all mighty buck. I hope it lasts for the younger ones to enjoy like i have.

Just returned from first trip and game to IGF- Want to thank Winnipeg and BB fans for a fun weekend and great game experience
And I'd be saying that even if the score hadn't favored my riders - won't disagree that for the second game in a row we had no business even being in the game after first half
The game day experience at IGF is fantastic-
I'll have a couple suggestions for Mosaic that they could mirror from IGF
And when you guys go- it is seriously loud
Also need to give shout out to Santa Lucia pizza- great pizza and they were willing to deliver to a motorhome " in some parking lot near IGF and we're calling from a cell phone with a 403 area code"
Anyway, before I delete this account, let me say that two families of Rider season ticket holders are planning to make this trip an annual tradition
