These airline companies don't care about their customers. Hope that passenger nails United with a multi million dollar lawsuit & wins. Teach these airlines a message.

I think the CFL should split the responsibilities. One, the Commissioner who is a football man. May have been a former GM, personnel director or coach. He liasons with teams, media & fans. His sole responsibility is to guide the league thru anything related to the onfield product from rosters to game situations. The other position would be CFL President or some other title. He works behind the scenes working on increasing revenues thru sponsorship & corporate deals. At times, they may work together on special projects like a new TV deal but generally they wouldn't. Instead of hiring a useless twit like Orridge who didn't seem to know anything about football & especially the CFL then name him Commissioner while being thrown headlong into the fire, split the duties but have a football guy handle the league, teams, media & fans.

How does someone like Glen Johnson even have the balls to think he'd be a good candidate?

There's been plenty said and written about Patterson over the years. Most of it seems to be of the "well I heard" variety. I can't say for certain if anything happened, obviously. But to play devil's advocate for a second, when you consider the general attitude towards homosexuals in the 80s and 90s, you can see where some stories may have been fabricated or whatever. There was a general perception amongst a number of people that it was a deviant lifestyle and a lot of witch hunts happened because of that stereotype. Casual homophobia was everywhere and I can only imagine what it was like in a testosterone filled locker room. I could easily see where someone could hear that Patterson was gay and say something like "I don't want to be left alone with him" and then try to justify that stance by saying "well, I heard..."

Don't agree. It is if you have an offensive line that blows like we had until last season. We have needs at other positions that must be addressed more than just continually drafting OL. Thank God we've gone past those dark days of a few years ago.

If you're referring to Pat Patterson, he was always considered an innocent party during the sex scandals of the 90's.  Mel Phillips and....cant remember his name off the top of my head were both dismissed for cause at that time.  Patterson resigned because as a gay man in the 90's, it was going to fall on him.  He was brought back once it was all settled.
But the sex scandals of the 90's aside, they continue to have that culture of disrespect and bullying.  They hide behind it being "on screen" or "in character" which is pretty lame.  Look at how Vince has portrayed Jim Ross over the years.  Making fun of him for having colon surgery, mocking his facial disability etc.
The unfortunate thing with WWE is the "culture" is all about kissing up to Vince.  Thats the booking, and thats the "ribs".

Agree. Ballsy move but if you have an employee that refuses to listen to the people he answers to & it's getting worse then there's no alternative but to fire him. The timing is bad but it is what it is.

Esks fans are lining up berating Rhodes on Esks Fans, 3 Down Nation & social media. They blame Rhodes for everything & talk like Ed Hervey was a saint when he wasn't. They say the Esks erected a big black fence years ago around their practice facility which bothered a lot of fans as they felt they didn't have access to watch their team anymore like they could before it was erected. Somehow that was Rhodes fault but not Hervey's even though both weren't around when it was built. Hervey was the GM. If he didn't like that fence & cared about the fans then as GM he could have torn it down & replaced it with something else so fans could watch. Clearly he didn't care about those same fans that seem to have his back here & are spitting mad about his firing. It's been reported that the team's BOD's never consulted football ops about the mic games last year & rather than agree, he felt that he had to back Maas who was dead set against it. Hervey's continuing stifling of media access to players means less stories in the local media yet Hervey didn't care much about that either. The way I see it, the guy was refusing to get along even with Rhodes & the directors of the team whom he answered to which generally doesn't end well for an underling trying to pull a power play. The Esks board hired Hervey & they chose to fire him. I bet he thought they'd never do that. He was wrong.

That's what I was referring to about Seth Rollins. When he came back, had it been as a face he'd have been massively hot but as is the WWE, they failed or more likely refused to recognize that & kept booking him as a heel & it eventually backfired. Now he's a face & until his victory over Triple H at WM, nobody seemed to care anymore.

I agree. They really show themselves in the foot. It was obvious Seth could be a big face before the injury because his work was really "face" with all of the athleticism. He was probably the best they had until the injury.
Then they made that heartfelt video about his rehab and return. Of course he was going to be cheered.
I don't know what their deal was. I think it was that they didn't want to undercut Romans push and they had a plan to turn him for Hunter but not til later. It was very stupid.
And his wm match did nothing for him either.  Honestly I'd have turned him heel again just to heat him back up. When he teamed with Balor....end the show wirh in super kicking Finn.
I could see him going to SD though.

That's totally fine, but for the most part, these guys are proven as commodities before they ever step foot in NXT. Case in point, every guy you named - Owens, Joe, Rollins and Balor - were world famous before they hit a NXT ring.

yeah the timing is whats really crazy. weve seen situations like that before from jones and the riders back to the Don in MTL. Normally it bottoms out when the winning stops not right before the draft.
To add i agree that the way they dealt with the mic'd up thing was horribly un professional. Though i thought that was more maas, it prolly starts with hervey and runs down through the whole organization.

Based on his disappointing pro day & so so CFL Combine results, is Herdman still a 2nd round pick? Or could he drop to the third round?

I'm not shocked as Hervey & Maas embarrassed the Eskimo organization with their antics during the 2 games the team was mic'd up. I think Rhodes was especially angry this happened. I'm surprised it was now & not right after the Esks lost the Eastern Final to the RedBlacks.. Like the Argos decision to can Barker so late it is unfathomable this didn't happen sooner.

I don't watch NXT. I admit I'm not a hard core wrestling fan like I used to be so NXT really doesn't mean a lot to me. I think a lot of WWE fans feels the same. When we see a bunch of new NXT guys get called up the day after WM like has been done the past few years we just shrug our shoulders & go who cares? Former NXT guys like Simon Gotch come & go. For them to stick around they have to be special. Like Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, Seth Rollins & Fin Balor. For women, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks & Bayley. I know there are NXT fans here that are genuinely excited to see NXT talent come up. Sorry to say that I'm not. Now if they develop into top WWE wrestlers then I'll become interested. They have to prove themselves in a WWE ring before I get excited as a fan.

Funny how we still go through this 'operating profit' vs actual revenues and expenses each year. Count the stadium mortgage payment as an operating expense. You couldn't 'operate' the club without the stadium.

Watching Jonathan Crompton play, I never thought he was a winner. I thought his accuracy was always questionable as was his ability to exploit a defense as a qb. He won most of his games because his team around him played better. I think any competent qb with the Als back then would have won. Crompton wasn't special in any way. At least that's what I think.
