  1. Just a question... Why are you tied up all in knots over a SCJ like it's the end of the world when you live in Canada? We have our own problems as a country here to worry about.
  2. He'll get a pay raise. They always do. Still, the optics of negotiating a new contract while others get nothing & the league shut down isn't good.
  3. Judging by the country talent we see on TSN during Thursday night football I can see why Burns stopped when he did.
  4. Story out that the RedBlacks are negotiating a new contract for Marcel Desjardins. They have no money to pay scouts expenses or the players but they have money for greedy GMs that need to get paid. What a slap in the face to fans across the league who have to endure a damned shutdown with no plans (so far) for 2021. NO ONE. Absolutely NO ONE should get a new contract until the turkeys who run things decide there'll be a season & commit to it. Desjardins should wait like everyone else.
  5. Quark turned out to be one of the best characters ever.
  6. At 31, if Wilson stays away from injuries he could play at the level he is now for a few years. He is still in his prime. I'd take Wilson.
  7. Russell Wilson has put the Seattle Seahawks on his back in an early MVP like season. Despite throwing a pick 6 vs New England, he shrugged that off & threw five more all to his teammates in an exciting 35-30 win at home to go to 2-0. The Seahawks who really don't do enough on their OL to protect Wilson as their most valuable player better hope he stays healthy. So now, after the Chiefs comeback today & Wilson's play this evening both teams are 2-0 with their qbs leading the way in spectacular fashion. Question: If you were a brand new GM of a brand new expansion NFL team & you had to pick between drafting Russell Wilson or Patrick Mahomes to your team as your qb then who would you pick? The only choices you have are those 2... No one else. Who would it be?
  8. Sucks to live in the 2 worst time zones in North America.
  9. I don't know if many people are like that. It is a tv show.
  10. And from the other side of the discussion, I initially liked Stumptown but then the Cobie Smulders character gets into lesbian sex & was bi sexual. That started playing more into the storylines & I just. went. click. Stopped watching it in December. I wondered what does the sex thing have to do with a privaye eye series other than Dex was one totally ****** up woman?
  11. They were in their 80's & 90's so pretty good.
  12. They went into a cave in May & didn't come out untuil they announced no season. Now thery've gone into hiding again. Oh, there was an Ambrosie sighting recently where he declared that the CFL 2.0 initiative & the money it brings in could save the CFL.
  13. After this season? I have no faith they can do anything at all.
  14. Three Biggest Wins: 1. The 1984 Western Final. We were in the midst of another long drought (22 years) without a Grey Cup win. BC managed to squeak out winning the Western Conference during the regular season over us. We hammered Edmonton at home in the Semi Final & then went into BC where we faced a Lions team without Roy Dewalt who was out with injury. I didn't feel sorry for the Lions as they knocked Tom Clements out in the same game a year ago wth a broken collarbone & we were winning the game when he was injured. I think we'd have beaten the Lions in 83 had Clements played the entire game. Anyway, we knocked out the Lions & advanced to the Grey Cup in Edmonton where we ended our losing streak with a beat down of the Brock led TiCats 47-14. 2. The 1988 Grey Cup. We again defeated the BC Lions, this time in Ottawa. The Lions offense was led by Matt Dunigan as Roy Dewalt had been traded to the Bombers but subsequently released after Labour Day. Sean Salisbury had taken the reigns from Dewalt & Lee Saltz. The Bombers with a ferocious defense went on a run in the playoffs. Salisbury wasn't very good. He couldn't elevate his team on his shoulders & dominate games but the one thing he could do was manage games. Not make too many mistakes. Salisbury never hurt the team & let his playmakers on offense like Perry Tuttle, James Murphy, Randy Fabi & Tim Jesse make enough plays to score points while an aggressive & absolutely dominating defense won games for the team. That is just how we won in 88, offense played lights out in the first half... especially James Murphy & gave the Bombers the lead. From then on in the second half the defense took over & while bending a bit to Dunigan & the Lions at times but sealed the game for the Bombers in the dying minutes with a ferocious goal line defense led by DE Mike Gray's tipping of a Dunigan pass straight up in the air & catching it himself as it came down on the 2 yard line. Totally unexpected win from a struggling 9-9 regular season team that suddenly found its identity & purpose that season in the playoffs just at the right time. 3. That Bomber Western Final win last season. Without that win, we don't pummel Hamilton... Always nice to beat the Riders in their barn in front of the gap tooth masses. Fajardo hitting the goalpost sure made up for that bogus no yards call in the 1972 Western Final in Winnipeg that cost us that game & haunted me as a fan for 47 freaking years. Seeing Fajardo on the ground in mental anguish after the play sure made me feel very good. Revenge after all those years was a dish best served cold.
  15. I don't like the way things are going. I don't think they can go ahead next year if restrictions are in place. They don't seem to be able to figure out how. There has been no mention of or actual plans for a season in 2021. They want to play though. They really, really, really do.
  16. Bo Levi Mitchell is NOT a running qb. Not even close. He likes to stay in the pocket with his eyes downfield. He has a quick release which saves him from harm & his OL do a Yeoman's job protecting him. Can he avoid the rush by moving around? Sure but he's no Tom Clements. He's not even Tom Burgess. He knows Dave Dickenson's offense inside out which also helps with his success.
  17. I think the Bucs offense will only get better but SB contenders? Too early yet to tell. Cleveland Browns are... The Browns. A Factory Of Sadness...
  18. Brees for me as well. But Arians is a helluva qb coach. Look what he did with Carson Palmer. He brougfht him back from the scrap heap. Brady has that guy on his side. Another year & the Vikings haven't changed. LOL.
  19. Brady vs Brees later today... Who's gonna take it & why?
  20. That is the problem with bringing politics into the game. People will never agree & anger ensues. I think national anthems should be a thing of the past along with flags.
  21. At least Reid & O'Brien were trying to set an example. Some of those other coaches like the DC of the Texans just think they'll never get sick or spread it to others. If the NFL wants a successful season then these coaches who refuse to mask up should be fined. I won't even get into the crowd behaviour with social distancing & very little masks. Yikes!
