  1. I willingly follow all the rules laid out for us in the pandemic here in Alberta. I drive a school bus with about 80 students in my bus on 2 separate runs everyday. I clean my bus after every run in the morning & evening. I make sure all the students on the bus including kinders & grade 1's 2's & 3's wear a mask fully covering their face & understand why. I do all the appropriate paperwork required for my job in the pandemic. I try to make my school bus the safest it c an possiblt be regarding the Covid virus. After work, if I go out I wear a mask in public. I don't go into stores ranting about my freedoms being taken away by wearing a mask. I agree with wearing a mask & do it willingly. I think I'm a pretty responsible citizen more than doing my part. So, these "rants" you talk about??? No idea what you mean? I don't like Tam. Just like you probably don't like Pallister or Scheer or now O'Toole. That's your choice whether to like them or not. Just like it's mine to dislike Dr. Theresa Tam. I don't care if that bothers you or anyone else here. You should find someone else to pick a fight with.
  2. I didn't know that essential flights flew into Winnipeg. I was under the impression that all int'l flights were cancelled.
  3. Best Star Trek crew is Deep Space Nine. The characters are terrific. Got a little too religious for me at times but other areas make up for it. The back & forth tete a tete between Sisko & Gul Du Kat, Bashir & O'Brien's friendship, Bashir's fixation with Garek being a member of the Obsidian Order & might be spy on board the Space Station. Quark & Odo supposed hatred of one another turning into a friendship with one another even though neither wanted to admit it. Well written & acted. The best series of the bunch.
  4. This could be such a great show but it's not. It doesn't hold a candle to Deep Space Nine or even TNG. All it has going for it are today's special effects.
  5. Hope not as it ain't over. I think as whole Canada has done pretty well. At the beginning Ontario & Quebec had issues but seem to have it under control as much as they may possibly can. I think anyone who says one province is a **** show compared to another is being arrogant & complacent as things can turn awfully fast in a negative way.
  6. Essential services people only. Not international flights for tourists like Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto & Montreal. Those 7 weeks you talk about is still 7 weeks when Covid was spread into our City.
  7. Three biggest losses: 1. The 1972 Western Final at home to the Riders. That loss still gets me like a kick in the gut a half century later. 2. The 2001 Grey Cup loss to the Stamps. Worst example of coaching by Dave Ritchie ever. He should have reigned in his players with the big egos & big mouths. Instead he let them yap all week like a bunch of punks. They fired up the Stamps by being idiots all week. I was so pissed after that game. 3. The 1982 Western Final & a 24-21 loss to the Eskimos. Vince Phason with a late pick looked to seal the Eskimos fate but oh no... the Bombers were called for a bogus RTP call on John Helton & instead it gave Dave Cutler a chance to kick the winning FG which of course he did. I remember going crazy in my living room knowing our season was over & we came up short once again.
  8. Nope don't see it the way you do.
  9. How many international flights has Winnipeg had since March? Zero while Calgary still is an international hub for the airlines. Do you really believe all passengers arriving in Calgary are self isolating for 14 days? It's one of the reasons our numbers are much higher. That's what Calgary has had to deal with the past 6 months.
  10. Reason #2 not to listen to Tam.
  11. Yeah, it's a shame that happened.
  12. Yeah, the **** show Alberta has had 1,000,000 tests so far. https://calgaryherald.com/news/local-news/covid-19-update-164-new-cases-one-million-tests-completed-in-alberta-fines-for-westjet-passengers-that-refused-to-wear-masks
  13. How else can I take that response? (As in, "WOW. Just wow"). BTW, that isn't a response to any federal funding. It's Jenks response that Alberta is a **** show for Covid. Go live in Wisconsin, Oregon or Minnesota. Three states with similar population numbers to Alberta. They are **** shows. The entire US is a **** show.
  14. Ha. Liberal syncophant. Tam has been just a tower of strength & leadership there. Lol.
  15. Kokanee never advertises anymore. Their sasquatch commercials were pretty good.
  16. I hope they do that with the Captain Pike series. It is going to be episodic. They can do 22 episodes on the main CBS network & it would probably catch on. Not happy that some of my shows won't debut for new seasons until "November-ish" as they stated. Like Blue Bloods. Speaking of Blue Bloods & Chicago PD, how do you change the characters of Danny Reagan (Blue Bloods) & especially Hank Voight (Chicago PD) in the wake of Black Lives Matter?
  17. Star Trek: Discovery premieres Sept 24th on CBS All Access & Oct 10th on CTV Sci Fi which is interesting as they've never had staggered dates before.
  18. I've always felt that TSN doesn't treat the CFL with any modicum of respect even though it is their biggest financial property. The broadcast teams have not been upgraded in years, the telecasts look the same but they keep bringing in new panel members from time to time. Some of the talking heads seem to ignore the CFL oin their broadcasts & keep focusing on the Raptors, Jays & Leafs. The CFL should be front & center on their TSN sportscasts but sometimes they're waaay down on the "depth chart" if you know what I mean. It should be a lot better.
  19. Yes, that was my point exactly. The feds help to fund healthcare to maintain Canadian standards but each provinces run it so why is Dr. Theresa Tam even saying anything? Why do we even have a Canadian Chief Medical Officer? To me, she is redundant. Her words mean nothing to me except as an annoyance.
  20. Healthcare may be a provincial responsibility but it is funded by Ottawa thru the Canada Health Act.
  21. I don't like her. She never took the lead on directions from the feds right from the start. That was left up to every province to find a way to do it themselves. Leadership from her wasn't there from her office. Good thing some of the provinces didn't go the way of Republican states down south. First, the mixed messaging from her about masks in the spring. Now the zany message she sent late last week about being better to have sex with yourself, no kissing & better mask up during sex. Like WTF? Since the provinces have been setting the pace since March, I'll go with what the CMO of Alberta says. Not Tam. Especially after that last golden nugget of advice. I've been masking in public now since it became mandatory in Calgary in early August. Being a schoolbus driver, I mask pretty much all day now. Use a face shield & gloves when kids embark & disembark. Disinfect my bus twice a day. after the morning & afternoon run.
