  1. Two things immediately would help the CFL I believe, as far as the fans are concerned. One, get rid of 1 year deals. Two, get rid of Unrestricted Free Agency. The 2 biggest complaints by fans are the fact that they don't know the players on their teams anymore as free agents come & go. So, it's hard to invest in a player as a fan when he could be gone the following season. Why should anyone buy a jersey for nearly $300 when it will be obsolete the day the current season is over? I won't. If I buy a jersey it will only have the name of players in the past like Reaves, Jonas, Murphy, Frank, Clements, Hufnagel, Raimey, Ploen, Lewis, Brock, West, Hill, Minnick, Browne, etc. No current players. I'd love to have a #5 Willie Jefferson jersey but where will he be after 2021? Player movement affects merch sales. So stem the tide of free agency by restricting it. Make a team pay for actually signing a UFA. If the CFL does that then I believe that'll go a long way to rebuilding some crumbling fanbases in the CFL.
  2. I never said 2015 was his final year. You said it. I didn't. I said he lost his starters job in 2015 & couldn't get it back in 2016. It's a fact that he rode the bench for the Niners before he was blackballed as he was the worst starter in the NFL. Even before he was injured. Injuries are part of the game. It's too bad he got hurt but that's life as a pro player. He was blackballed, which we know happened but he wasn't a star qb anymore. He got involved in domestic American politics taking on the Establishment & the decision to keep him out of the NFL was a political decision by the league as well. His ability as a player & being blackballed are two totally separate situations.
  3. Streveler says lots of nice things about us. Which is great. The way he talks about the CFL is the way Doug Flutie did when he went back to the NFL & he still does today. They both had fun playing up here & both respect the Canadian game as it's not easy to learn. And the competition is a lot better than they originally thought when they first came up here. as well.
  4. I agree. If this is an example of the league trying to come up with new revenue streams it's a hard pass by me & a fail. What did I or anyone else do to deserve our names on the Grey Cup "base"? Other than being a fan? Nothing.
  5. Kaepernick lost the starter's job to Blaine Gabbert in 2015. Check the video above & you'll see why. Like what does that last sentence you posted even mean??? Try what?? BTW, here's a story announcing he was benched for Gabbert. Maybe you need to go back & actually check facts before you mouth off saying stupid things. This story is from CBS Sports. Not Breitbart. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/49ers-colin-kaepernick-loses-starting-qb-job/#:~:text=Kaepernick has lost the San,5 interceptions in six games. Oh gosh, another story on the demise of Kaepernick & his game, blue-gold-84. When he absolutely sucked as a qb. And it's not Breitbart, either. Maybe you should read it. https://ninernoise.com/2016/08/26/colin-kaepernick-lost-49ers-quarterback-competition/
  6. Didn't say the fix wasn't in. We all know he was blackballed. But the only coach who get anything out of him as a pro was Jim Harbaugh. When he left Kap's game absolutely tanked. The hype over the guy is way over the top.
  7. Forget the social justice... As a qb he played brutal his final year. I mean, Blaine Gabbert was better than he was. sO ThAT iS trUE.
  8. Justin Townes Earle, age 38 & the son of country singer Steve Earle passed away on August 23rd. There were no details of his death but he had struggled with drug addiction his entire adult life. His father Steve survived his demons but unfortunately it would seem that Justin did not. He possessed the same musical talent his father has. Sadly, gone so young...
  9. There's no Camelot with that whole family.
  10. The Good Year Blimp has asked for equal time.
  11. I have to say I didn't care much for Julia Louis Dreyfuss. Her Trump jokes weren't funny & she looked amateurish compared to the other 3 female hosts during the DNC. She made it about herself.
  12. Six of the 12 speakers are Trump family members. That is just too funny.
  13. No. He is just saying that he wants if it becomes available.
  14. I can't stand him... Just the thought of Black calling a game gives me the runs.
  15. The CFL is incapable of even thinking about things like that. No surprise.
  16. I actually have a My Pillow & it works. I do get a better sleep but what the guy is proposing for Covid 19 is nuts. Stick to sleep remedies, asshat. I plan on buying some Good Year winter tires in November.
  17. Kopp is lucky to be alive to celebrate his birthday today... Didn't he roll his truck on the Trans Canada somewhere near Golden, BC.
  18. Did my heart good to see the Flames knocked out & Tkachuk suffering in the press box while going crazy. Seven straight goals against them. The only way they could beat the Jets was by taking out our best players which is what they did. They deserve all the bad karma they can get.
  19. Having family down there concerns me greatly. I don't want my son's family wiped out by some alt right group with guns or a bomb when they go shopping in a mall in Auburn, Washington. Or when he goes to renew his drivers license in a state building.
  20. I remember the federal building in Oklahoma City being blown up in 1995 by some alt right wingnuts with disastrous loss of life. The US doesn't need that just to prosecute one man. Trump would love it. I detest Trump along with the rest of you but is his conviction worth innocent people losing their lives? And there would be loss of life.
  21. Trump's time may be coming but there's no guarantee. His imprisonment might start a civil war. At the very least domestic terrorism, I fear. To keep order in the USA & Americans safe, Biden may have to do what Ford did to Nixon & commute any convictions.
  22. I had this poster when it came out in 1970 from CFL properties. Had it in my room for years. When it came time to take it down the edges ripped & I ended up throwing it away. I recently bought another from a fan selling his on CFL Collectibles which is a facebook memorabilia page. The poster was pretty beat up & showed its age of 50 years so I had it made into an acrylic print. Cost me $270 but all the wrinkles & tears as well as tape glue on the sides were scanned away & I got a beautiful rendition back that is better than the original. The bonus is that I have the original inside a container stored away in a safe place at home here. This is acrylic print is proudly displayed in my rec room. It means more to me now with the CFL season cancelled & all this uncertainty with the league coming back than it did when I was a teenage fan. Not knowing very much about the history of the league half a century ago. Acrylic prints while very bright do reflect the light. I should have taken this standing just a little bit to the right or left as you can see the light reflecting in the photograph. It still is outstanding & I'm glad I paid the big bucks to get it done as it's a collector's item. The funny part is my son is a big CFL fan living in Seattle. He was born in Calgary & loves the Stamps but I told him this will be his someday as I want it kept in the family. He knows how important it is to me.
