  1. I heard that one too. Basically, Nolan hasn't developed in the last year, so will he progress as quickly in the NHL to become a top centre... Hard to say what his injury and surgery did to put him back. The scout also questioned his drive to improve. That would be a big red flag if I'm a GM. This could be a Yakupov-sort-of-year.
  2. Not sure which forum to put this in. Saw this on Twitter last night and decided to order today: 75% OFF - CFL® – WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS LIMITED EDITION SIGNED PRINT $44.98 (plus tax) after discount. Regular $179.95. https://www.canadapost.ca/shop/cflextra25/p-341900.jsf?execution=e1s1 Bombers fans – score with this winning combination! A limited edition framed print showcasing an autographed enlargement of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers* commemorative stamp and the CFL’s 100th Grey Cup® stamp – both issued to celebrate the 100th Grey Cup Game. Winnipeg has been competing for the Grey Cup since 1930. They have won the Grey Cup championship ten times, including the infamous Fog Bowl game of 1962 against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. As the game progressed into the second quarter, the fog rolled in from Lake Ontario, making it difficult for players to see the ball and nigh on impossible for fans to see anything at all. The game was finally postponed until the next morning, where Winnipeg was victorious with a score of 28 to 27. The featured player in the stamp foreground is retired quarterback and Canadian Football Hall of Famer Ken Ploen, wearing jersey #11. Ploen led his team to six Grey Cup appearances and four victories, including the Fog Bowl. With only 300 available, each limited edition print comes numbered and personally hand-signed by Ploen. Also included are two matching mint stamps and a team pin. The authenticity of the athlete's autograph is guaranteed by Canada Post and is accompanied with a Certificate of Authenticity and official CFL hologram that comes with every piece of CFL licensed memorabilia. Bombers fans - score yours today. 2” Black Colonial Panel Frame Includes: Two mint commemorative stamps – Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Grey Cup Painted metal team pin Certificate of Authenticity Acid-free double-matted Quality shatter-proof Plexiglas Ready for hanging 597 mm x 762 mm (23.5” x 30”) Thought this would like nice on my office wall.
  3. Yes, I thought they made him look good but the movie itself wasn't good. That would be an interesting tie-in with the Infinity Wars. They're going to struggle to get everyone some screen time in that film. However, with SS, you wouldn't have to worry about appeasing any actor's ego. Could just show up at some point and leave without much fanfare. Just a little kernel for the fans. And, maybe, it could lead to a standalone movie.
  4. Exactly. There's a whole lot wrong with FF movies. The Thing will always be difficult to get right, even in a great FF (if that ever happens). I accept that as a reality and not a criticism of the movies. I was just reading an origin story to my son on Silver Surfer and reflecting on that movie. Gawd, Silver Surfer deserves better.
  5. It makes me think of the Thing. His look is so hokey and it doesn't translate, IMO, to the movies so well. Of course, the first family of Marvel can't get a decent movie.
  6. I've been amazed at how Marvel has been able to bring the two companies together to push the Spiderman/Avengers connection. Well done. Not sure if they're ready for a Cap/Spidey movie yet but I can dream.
  7. I like Keaton as the Vulture and I like the suit. It seems more 'realistic'. What I am getting tired of is the constant refreshing of Spiderman. I don't find young Spidey as interesting as the older Spidey. Give me a more mature Spiderman, who is aware of his abilities (not always in awe) but is still cocky.
  8. He has Augustine going high in the second round. 11 to Saskatchewan. I wouldn't be surprised if a GM took a chance, early in the 2nd round, hoping (praying) that he turns into a stud, ratio-breaking RB. Jones seems like the type to do that.
  9. Don't punish Comrie for everyone else's mistakes.
  10. He's also been working on growing a beard, being really good in the locker room and taking senseless minor penalties. Thorbs is a poor man's Buff.
  11. Did Dano forget his skates and stick back home in Winnipeg??
  12. That's a much better solution. Still prefer we keep the pick, just wondering if someone would come in with an offer we couldn't refuse (or where we couldn't still get 'our' gu).
  13. I would be okay with flipping #1 to Hamilton if we're not intending on taking Vandevoort there. I would want #4 and #13 in exchange.
  14. Thorbs gets a two-year, $1.2 AAV contract. The Jets love this guy! Does Dano get a hattie against Hutch next year during the first Vegas-Jets matchup?
  15. So #1 for #3 and #24. Bombers: #3, #6, #15, #23, #24. Is it deep enough that pick #24 will be valuable? (then BC flips #1 to Hamilton!)
  16. And, if he goes back for one more year at UND, he's a UFA, right?
  17. I remember the old Rush Limbaugh tv show during the Clinton Administration! Also, we're 65 days into the 30 day plan to eliminate ISIS.
  18. Idris Elba would be awesome in almost any role!
  19. And, fantasy sports has softened everyone on gambling.
  20. Start shuddering because Hutch and Stuart are both signed for next year. (Maybe Vegas needs a gritty old timer on the blue line making too much money?) I bet they re-sign Thorburn, unless they think they've got a Mooseketeer that fill the role. Hopefully, the Jets can just move past the enforcer type this offseason. BTW - Mooseketeer - love that line but forget who to credit.
  21. He's got binders and he can make players in the locker room cry!! He makes the fans cry too.
  22. Thing with Buff is, you get good Buff when you play him less. Give him 22-24 minutes tops each game and you'll get the good Buff. Then you trade him when his stock is up.
  23. Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex at the University?
