Nothing underhanded about it at all, actually. Executing a trick play within the rules of the game is not underhanded at all.

there is only one option here.   If the ref blows the play in, and a player decides to fall over, the play must continue until the next whistle.  Do that, and the play-acting stops immediately.

cramps tho aren't an injury...it's just lack of hydration and in my opinion poor conditioning

If it's an obvious attempt to delay the game, I'm not sure why an official would be hesitant to do his job.
play clock gets waved in --> player A on defense who seemed perfectly okay suddenly takes a knee --> official throws flag for delay of game
Pretty simple. If a player gets hurt on the previous play, he'll remain on the ground or take a knee almost immediately after the fact.

I don't buy for a second that's what happened on Sunday, though. It looked pretty deliberate and for Jones to suggest his players were fatigued clearly demonstrates it was a tactic to slow down the Bombers' offence. How does a rotational D-lineman get fatigued in 22C weather, anyway?

Good on Chris Jones for finding a way to counter Lapo's tempo within the rules, but boo on Chris Jones for making the game uglier, slower, stupider, and more phony. 
The integrity and quality of the game is more important to me than a single rivalry game loss -- I hated PI replay challenge even when the Bombers benefited from it, and this is the same kind of thing. 

Absolutely agree with the first paragraph.  It's one thing to stay down after the play to slow the other team down, it's another thing entirely to wait until the ball is about to be snapped and then drop as if you've been shot by a sniper.  It happens quite a bit in professional soccer and it's disgusting to watch.  Totally unsportsmanlike and a very pathetic way to play a game.

It is a pretty unconventional method, and the fact it was discussed and orchestrated from withing the coaching staff was evident in a couple instances on the theatrics of the "injury"...totally bush and something I have never seen in the way they did it. Generally if you wanted to use this gray area a guy would take a knee pretty much after play was over, or before the play clock started, and with this I have no issue, but doing it after the team has come to the line, or the 20 second clock started was pretty pathetic. 
That fact that this is part of your gameplan/strategy just goes to show the type of character that Jones has, and that it most likely leads to a pretty good summation that he probably is still doing other things to circumvent the rules...history does repeat itself and and a leopard never changes his spots. 
But so be it...let them revel in their self assurance they have turned a corner...if anyone is smoke and mirrors right now it is them, and doubt they surpass us in standings, and pretty sure Wally will turn things around there and end up ahead of the Riders too...and they can tweet away on twitter about how the play-offs are going as spectators
The funny thing about all this is that if the Bomber's and Oshea did this tactic...could you imagine the uproar about it, and I bet too that guys like Suitor and some others would condemn it too, unlike the attitude they have about it now

Yea no, I'd be pretty choked if O'shea was suing a bullshit tactic like that, regardless of what you think.   its dirty pool and I hope there is some way to make sure its not acceptable going forward.. Not that Jones cares one way or another..

Im not a fan of our soft zone D.. Im not a fan of Richie Hall... But .. The D only allowed 3 points all second half... If our O wasnt going 2 and out or turning the ball over in the redzone.. We come back and win. 2 picks in the endzone and a turnover on downs. If we score 3 Tds or even 2 and a FG.. This topic doesnt exist. 

The game, he WAS having a MOP-esque season before yesterday.  Like I said if he bounces back good on him but we can't go a quarter without a first down or we will be toast.    Give him three series then evaluate.  Hopefully Davis  has his helmet close by.

Before what gets out of hand? Nichols MOP-esque season?? The guys 17-6 as a Bomber starter since taking over from Willy last July, and you want to start seeing what Davis can do? Do you not realize how bad an opinion this is?

Nichols is still massively to the good in his win/loss ration as a Bomber and one poor outing and suddenly everything is horrible. **** sakes people calm the **** down. We almost never win on Labour Day, should be used to the worst possible outcome happening there. They'll pull their heads out of their asses for next week. 

Nichols had the deer in the headlights  look before and after that play.  The Sask D is fast and aggressive,  he caved early and often.  Now maybe our receivers sucked tonight, they seemed blanketed even on the balls they caught.  
Our kicker is good, running backs and o-line.  Big question marks remain everywhere else and today's game has shown it.  7-3 is nice but 7-4 will be disasterous.
 

Why wouldnt they keep playing him? They had a rough 5 minutes in the first Q where the game turned.. Rest of it tho... We fought back and if not for turnovers we had a chance still... 
Nichols is like what? 17 18 19 and what 6 or 7 as bomber starter? Hes not pulled because hes the best QB we have had since Khari Jones. 
Because despite being down by a couple touchdowns... The game wasnt over... They scored 2 TDs in like a minute vs Montreal..  Why pull Nichols when down by a couple TDs with 6 7 8 minutes left? Pulling nichols would be like giving up or being blown out legit... We weren't being blown out tho. 
If it was 38 0.. Sure play Davis but it wasnt and we still had a shot.. Pull him at the end? Sure.. But not with lots of time left. 
We are 7 and 3... Many of our players are very good. 

Matty Iced the game for the Riders when he tossed his first pick.  Terrible throw and the poor decisions kept coming but Osh will keep trotting him out.  Our D is really bad though, Walters has to wear the stink as well.  Many of the players just plain suck.

To prevent it, please follow:
Defenceman, Weber takes a slap shot off the ankle, obvious injury event. Weber hits the ice like a bag of potatoes. Play continues. 
Yesterday, RB Marshall with ball comes up lame during the play falls like a sack of potatoes. Play continues. 
Hypothetical, long bomb to a receiver, defender comes up lame with leg cramp, falls like a sack of potatoes. Blow the play dead? That would never happen. 
Bombers yesterday had three plays whistled in, as someone pointed out in chat. After the ref whistled in, the fake injuries occurred, player falls like a sack of potatoes, with no injury event. No reason to not continue the play. 
The fake injuries hurt the integrity of the game. 
Sundays game with fake injuries to delay game is obvious bad faith by liars. Equivalent to malingering. 
You can drop a note to the cfl if you agree. 

Delay of Game is not within the rules. No ref will call it, that's the problem. They're afraid that they'll penalize a team with a legit injury. But don't think for a moment faking injuries is within the rules. 

Yeah we got a soft team, that's why the Riders had a bunch of guys go down injured (not the fake ones either, legit ones) 
I said it in the chat, teams take on the personality of their head coaches and we see that with these teams. Bombers are a tough team that doesn't do a lot of dirty stuff, the Riders act like a bunch of dinks. 

Have to give your head a shake if you think this team is soft .. we've gotten up off the mat in a number of games this year already and were fighting back in this one.
It was a game of momentum and the Riders had it from the get go .. they were catching all the breaks and making things happen and to be honest .. I think many people around here expected this kind of game today.
We were never going to win out .. but now we have to respond .. I've sat through countless games where the team HAS rolled over .. it's not in this group's make up.
 
 

Worst part of TSN is how they pick a storyline for each game and just cannot move off it no matter what actually happens in the game.
