  1. No way would I take a gamble with him coming back from such a serious injury, I guess if the price is right, but with it being such a heavily QB-driven league, he'll fetch a high price somewhere... Ottawa, Toronto, maybe? Of course, he'll most likely re-sign with Hamilton, players usually like to stay where they have set up shop, if they can.
  2. Just got my statement for my 2020 season tickets, and noticed they've kindly already applied the home playoff credit to the invoice... is the fix in? Could we not still host a playoff game if we beat CAL, then CAL loses to BC?
  3. I know he takes a lot of flak, but man, how on Earth do you throw that challenge flag? That was textbook definition of helmet-to-helmet, will continue to get called every single time. I understand they had nothing to lose... EXCEPT A TIMEOUT, YOU IDIOTS.
  4. Why on Earth would the Lions voluntarily wear their away jerseys in this game? Just feeds into the 'Rider mentality that this is just another home game for them ...
  5. "Another thrill on the hill, at McGill" - Rod Black. Stop. Just stop.
  6. Having a playoff spot locked down certainly provides an incentive to take the foot off the pedal... but the Bombers are 7-1 at home, and 3-5 on the road. I think we can beat the 'Riders in their own barn, especially if we go with a run-heavy game plan like last week. However, Calgary is not a pushover team - if they do end up playing in the WSF, I hope it's on our turf. Sadly hosting the Western Final seems a pipe dream now.
  7. You're missing the big one: Highest percentage of unsuccessful seasons (resulting in not winning the GC) - 94.87%
  8. Just wanted to chime in that whoever did the schedule this year did a fantastic job, lots to still play for, lots of season series still up the air. Time will tell I guess.
  9. Only Rider fans would be concerned about game day attendance when our province has declared a state of emergency. The world could be burning and they'd want to know if they won the season series.
  10. Classic 'Rider math 1+1 = 3 lol
  11. Agreed, the Als are a decent team, but tougher opponents will make him pay for those mistakes.
  12. You mean using a standard gimmick as a receiver, which in itself is a gimmick.
  13. 1) Harris - Ran for 166 yards (career single game record), only mistake was a fumble in garbage time. 2) Rasheed Bailey - 5/7 for 86 yards - made some mistakes but on the whole made the most of opportunities given to him. 3) Marcus Rios - played okay, but slid well to cover the check-down, forced Adams to throw into Taylor's area... resulting in the pick-6. At that time it was 17-24 and MTL was still hanging around. Did a good job to block after the INT too. HH - Sayles for 2 picks allowing Bomberland free pizzas tomorrow.
  14. Big game today, gotta try and gain some ground on the Stamps and 'Riders. My wife hates the weather, but I think it plays right into the Bombers ground game. Run. The. Ball. Go Blue!
  15. So right now, here's how those three teams shape up in games against each other. If we win tomorrow, the West standings would look like this: 1) CAL (vs SSK 2-0, vs WPG, 0-1) Overall: 2-1 (Win % 0.667) 2) WPG (vs SSK 1-2 vs Cal 0-1) Overall: 2-2 (Win % - 0.500) 3) SSK (vs WPG 2-1, vs CAL 0-2) Overall: 2-3 (Win % 0.400) Of course, then that massive series against CAL just gets even more massive.
  16. Basically, it's whichever team has the highest win % amongst the teams in a tie. The complete (and technical) rules can be found here: https://www.cfl.ca/game-rule-tiebreak/
  17. Sure, but we're a month away from the playoffs, now is not the time to be tutoring guys, if they felt Streveler wasn't ready, they should've gotten bona fide backup before the season started. My biggest problem with this trade is Collaros is still injured - who knows when (or if) he'll return?
  18. Yeah, he played a total of 15 games for the Argos (in 2012 and 2013)
  19. That logic is flawed too though, if the Grey Cup was between the winners of the East/West, you could end up with a single lopsided division that has the two best teams (record wise) in the league. This scenario happened in 2016, oddly enough the two division winners (Calgary and Ottawa respectively) played in the Grey Cup, but every team in the West (besides the Riders lol) finished with a better record than Ottawa.
  20. Sure, I won't bother with the analysis as it would be redundant, I think we can both agree that 1st place teams likely make the GC and win it more frequently than others. However, my point still stands, there are plenty of teams that sneak in on a hot streak (such as Calgary in 2001) that string a few wins together and get lucky. It's not how you start, it's how you finish. Your point is that 1st place teams win more frequently, which is fair. My point is that 100% of Grey Cup champs were playoff contenders.
  21. You make the playoffs even as a 3-seed or crossover, all you need is a win streak (3 wins) and suddenly you're a Grey Cup champion. As a mathematician, I trust the law of large numbers, if we're one of the six teams to make it, logic would dictate that we should eventually win a Grey Cup. Even a blind dog sometimes finds a bone.
  22. Whilst this is a chillingly accurate analogy, I would argue that more playoff runs, more meaningful games (this time of year) is still a step in the right direction. I would not be in favor of jettisoning this team, for the first time in a decade (at least that I can remember) we clinched a playoff spot before October even began, there's been way too many years where we were technically alive around now, but needed outside help. As for getting too high or too low on a team after wins and losses, I don't let it bug me too much. It is just entertainment after all... who won the 1995 Grey Cup? Yeah, I can't remember either. I know it wasn't the Bombers (only because I'm a fan and know of their current drought), but that's about it. My point is, at the end of the day, it's just entertainment, don't let it seep too much into your life.
  23. I think the bigger problem here is an offensive coordinator trying to mold Streveler into a Nichols clone. The gameplan should be planned around a player (and team's) strengths, not the other way around.
  24. CFL history is rife with great regular season teams that couldn't deliver in the playoffs. Just from a purely mathematical perspective, if this current regime keeps punching playoff tickets, sooner or later a championship will happen. People here are underestimating the importance of being a competent and respectable organization, helps bring in talent and keep it here.
