  1. This isn't the first time Harris' trying to grind for an extra few yards has almost cost us the game, he did exactly the same thing near the end of the Labour Day Classic, he almost cost us the chance to kick the game-winning field goal by accidentally running out the clock...
  2. Anyone else appalled at the fact Ottawa currently sits atop the East, with a losing record?
  3. Logically, this game had absolutely no bearing on the 'Riders playoff chances - whether we won, or B.C. won wouldn't help or hinder their chances. So it's only a conspiracy if you can't do math, which is plausible for them.
  4. I know the refs are supposed to be impartial to the influence of fans during a game, but this non-call reminds me of the Tennessee Titans vs. Buffalo Bills "forward-lateral" in the NFL a few years ago, it's often referred to as the Music City Miracle. It's kind of one of those calls where it is "well... it could go either way ... maybe I'll just let the call stand (and the home team win) because I'm going to start a riot otherwise..." Seriously, could you imagine what would've happened if that call was overturned, in Tennessee or yesterday for the Bombers?
  5. Don't forget Dressler had that fake FG run in the first quarter. Agree with your calls other than that. Also I might be wrong, but I think the trick play was actually a double-reverse (harris to kohlert) who then tossed it to Nichols.
  6. Not to mention drug dealers a double whammy, not only are their drugs unregulated and likely unsafe, by being part of the underground economy, they dodge reporting lots taxable income. The government misses out on the tax revenue from being the dealer (think tobacco, for every $10 you spend on cigarettes , $5 is tobacco tax that goes straight to government coffers). They also lose out on the tax revenue not collected from illegal, unreported drug-peddling activities.
  7. It'd be incredibly ironic if the substance he abused was speed..
  8. Whenever I get a jersey stitched, I always make sure it's a retired Bomber that won at least one Grey Cup. It forces me to step back, take a minute and read up on a player that did something great for this team in years past. I also do this because that way I don't end up with the awkward situation with my first jersey from 2011 in which I had an Odell Willis jersey, who after their GC loss, the Bombers released and then he was picked up by the Riders... Had it re-stitched as a Ken Ploen jersey.
  9. If I was Darvin Adams this signing would have me shaking in my boots.
  10. Agreed, but if I had to choose, I'd take Harris every day of the week.
  11. Good to hear Harris likely starting...he's a workhorse for our O and can will them to a win if the defense holds.
  12. On top of the fact I love this play style, it is very suited for games later in the year on when the weather worsens and old man winter knocks...
  13. Probably not... one can hope though, it would be nice if Nichols had a bigger receiver on offense. Hopefully Adams is on the mend and will be back sooner rather than later.
  14. This trade reminds me of when we traded Alex Hall to the Riders for their 2013 GC run. We aren't going to re-sign Adams and he just lost his starting job to Frederick. Got something for nothing with a player that will likely bolt to the NFL next season. So I know we got the rights to McKay, how much longer do players usually bounce around the NFL before they come north? Anyone have any idea? Is this an effort to improve our current roster (i.e. this year), or is this a more long-term acquisition?
  15. I understand calculus but not this football article... new appreciation for the CFL game.
  16. Pretty much, right now the Riders are 3-10 with 5 games remaining (best possible record is 8-10) and Edmonton is 6-7 with 5 games remaining (worst possible record would be 6-12). Riders could still cross-over if Edmonton managed to win only won 1 of their last 5 (finishing 7-11), assuming the Riders run the table and finish 8-10. Even if the stars did align and the Riders do win out AND Edmonton loses out, that doesn't guarantee a cross-over since they also would need 2 of the 4 teams in the East to have a final record of worse than 7-11... highly unlikely, since Toronto (currently in 3rd) is 5-8... The only reason I care is because it keeps the pipe dream alive of us getting to the Grey Cup through the West, whilst Saskatchewan would take the much weaker road through the East. The end result? Us steamrolling them in the Grey Cup in a season the Riders thought was all but lost. It probably won't happen (apparently Riders playoff chances right now are at about 0.09%, assuming games are determined by a coin flip)... but a man can dream.
  17. I like the move to bench Johnny Adams this week - he's just looked out of place and Frederick seemed to be getting the job done. Hopefully it'll either wake up Adams, or Frederick will continue his good play. Very much so looking forward to that home-and-home against B.C. - if that series isn't a split, I think the winner takes 2nd in the West. Hopefully the Riders can help us out with a W against B.C. in their last home game at Mosaic. Also - fun fact, the Riders aren't yet mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, although their only chance is via a cross-over to the East.
  18. Flanders has looked good the last few games, unfortunately I think its just a case of odd-man out once Harris is healthy. Using Harris as the Canadian WR would be an interesting one-of or "gadget-play" formation, but re-tooling the entire offense around it wouldn't really work. You're right though, Flanders is definitely on the radar for some teams now though...
  19. Fair point. Maybe someday Flanders will be the successor to Andrew Harris... however with respect to the topic of this thread - the starting RB position goes to Harris, assuming he can play.
  20. Don't get me wrong, Flanders has done well as a backup to Harris. Thing is, he's just that - a backup.
  21. I can't wait till the Stamps crap the bed at home in November against us in the Western Final.
  22. Goat of the game: Johnny Adams on that fumble "recovery" attempt.
  23. Even then, the "placebo" effect is well-documented in medicine as providing positive results. Also, who do we want to win this game? B.C. to further push the Eskies away from us? .. or Edmonton, to allow us to possibly gain ground on B.C.? I'd be leaning towards Edmonton... either way though I'm hoping for injuries...suspensions... or both.
