I have no issue with him being cut if he wasn't going to beat out the 4 we kept, but if they kinda already knew that and clearly not giving him the chance to beat out anyone illustrates that then why not get your scouts to find someone with a chance to possibly be better than at the very least Portis. People say they are in favor of putting the best possible team out there, yet seems they were pretty dead set with their QBs,  in which case bring in 4 and bring in another player for an area of need. Its not like the very few reps Yantz did get would have blown a tire on any of the 4 QBs taking these limited and valuable reps

There's a chance this has already been answered but I'm going to jump in on this one point.
 
Yantz attended the 2014 training camp as part of the Canadian QB program where each CFL team brings in a CIS or CJFL QB. Basically a mentorship program. 
 
Non-counters are as follows: current year draft picks; players from previous drafts that have not attended CFL training camp (the old futures draft picks or guys that have gone to NFL camps); any Canadian QB; plus two players from the current year's draft class that were undrafted.
 
Players must sign contracts to attend training camp for various insurance and CFLPA reasons. 
 
CJFL players that are territorial rights but have not graduated from the CJFL are also non-counters. This is a rule that needs to be addressed for two reasons, first the Ontario conference has changed their age limit and secondly BC gets an entire conference while most teams get only 1 or 2 teams. Once players graduate from the CJFL they are free agents unless they decide to go to the CIS or had played in the CIS prior to playing junior. It's messy and needs help.

Yes I do because I think the Bomber brass were a little concerned about Lirim's punting coming into this season since he would be the only kicker on the roster.  But Lirim's punting in TC and the last preseason game were excellent and probably put any concerns to rest.  But I recall last season while his FGs and kickoffs were very good, his punting was occasionally less than stellar.  Now the American dude would have had to be the second coming of Patrick err I mean Swayze Waters to make the team, but his punting was very good in the first preseason game.  Worth a look if nothing else.
 
Would have been nice if Yantz got a couple reps in the games so I get where he is coming from.  But as it's been pointed out, who knows how he was with the playbook or meetings or whatever.  If he wasn't going to get a fair shake, I'd have rather they brought someone else in to push Portis, who hasn't impressed that much either so far.  It's all a moot point though if Willy, Marve and Brohm stay healthy during the season.  Later in the season I'm sure they'll bring in another QB to look at.  Best of luck to Yantz wherever he goes.

I went to 7-8 TC practices and saw Yantz get a total of one scrimmage rep.

MBB could have hired him to be our TC analyst. he watched just as much without playing and had VIP access

how do we know what his ceiling is without giving him at least a fair shake vs next to nothing at this level.  Seems Portis was getting reps ahead of marve last few practices before game 2, did the team suddenly become unready since the now PR qb took reps in place of our #3?  

forget fair chance. he didnt get any chance at all. Id rather us not bring in canadian qbs if were going to do this stuff with them.

the article has Yantz saying thats what he was told after Walters told him he was better then all the american QB's they invited to the Florida mini camp and he would get a fair opportunity to compete in training camp. The impression i got from the TC reports was he was getting 1 or 2 reps, sometimes none at all during practices and clearly he felt "left in the dark" and it didnt matter what he did, he felt it was evident they knew what they were gonna do with him.
 
I understand the business side of it and it may (or may not) have ben the right call,  but how can you not get the kid more reps somewhere in those 2 a days. If they had told him from the get go your only coming here incase someone gets hurt,  you think he'd have any issue?

i saw a fb what are they called meme's? anyways its said, tired of ppl making like 12 million dollars to make a movie telling me to donate when i make $12 an hour.  very few ppl got rich by helping the needy, and i'd image very few would part with their fortunes after they made. I dont know if I'd necessarily call it greed, I mean if i come into money I got no problem buying the buddies im with a few rounds,  but itd be stupid for me to look after the whole bar's needs.
 
As far as im concerned throwing money at problems is only a quick fix,  itd be far more responsible to invest in proper education and training first and foremost for countries/regions in a constant problematic state to learn how to be proactive in prospering once that money train ends.  examples i can think of in the top of my head would be poverty in africa, they should be investing in education on farming and spending money to overhaul the soils and such if the current state is unable to be cultivated. But you probably face warlords and pirates hijacking that **** constantly.  In our own backyard,  victims of residential schools, clearly experienced and went to hell and back,  and our government just threw money at them hoping it was "good enough" rather then investing in proper psychiatric help these people needed first and then assist financially. Cuz just like all the money donated to africa, and for so many survivors of the residential schools, just throwing money instead of responsible spending has done wonders (sarcasm).  
 
I think its easy to wag your finger at a capitalist society if they aren't helping the less fortunate, but if everything was equal wouldnt we be then communist? 

We havent won a cup in forever and I expect the same with the bombers 
 
Im beyond the point of "just do good, be competitive, patience" really i just want them to outright win. This isnt about who is running the team, how long they've been running the team,  I'm happy with the direction we were headed, but as a fan, I just want them to win already

i thought a general consensus among fans was we did the majority of what was needed bring in experienced ballers, and tweak it with some new blood via scouting but they would need a few real games to gel cuz many of these guys never played with each other before.  I might be over stating the opinion of the Oline with this but I dont think its too far off to think the team we see week 1 will likely be a better team come week 3 or 4

all i got from the game was,  #1 underwood for the ticats has awesome hair - kid and play worthy, the bomber cheerleaders are so much hotter then i can remember in recent memory.  if anyone knows the guy who wears a gold Johnson jersey section 107 row 1, seat 6,  he was pretty funny talkin smack to the ticats players,  he came to rock and i salute him

i can kinda see what atomic is saying with the new kayfabe thing. once again I think this has more to do with HHH and his heavy involvement with everything wwe these days.   If you recall towards the end of his wrestling days (really) his thing and the hot thing at the time was making fan feel like intelligent fans. Bringing more of a "real" sounding behind the scenes story then the superficial stuff we'd been swallowing prior. Sure they'll still go a little too fake with things like Ambrose stealing a paddy wagon and coming back to the arena, but it was more the reference drops, behind the curtain tell tales that hardcore fans used to hear or know about,  but now its more out there for everyone, but more scripted then scandlous

why would they be lower in the 2nd half? i suppose you should try and game around their starters to get more a starter vs starter situation, but i doubt any coach wants to follow vs dictate. I guess my thinking is 2nd half ends the game leading into the 1st game next week, instead of play, sit then play again, i dont think its world changing but imo not as much flow
