Mostly agree with Noeller. If you're rating him amongst the CFL's greatest based on his career stats then you are over rating the guy.  Id rather have a qb who was great for 10 years and then another qb who was great for another 10 years then one qb who was good for 20. He's basically Vernon Adams if he would stay healthy and play a long time as his current level of play.

I wonder how much Hansen had been making in the German league?

Wish i knew more.  I just looked at the draft rankings.  If Harrison isn't in the draft then i think Panthers would trade their pick.

BTW.  The NFL trade deadline has already passed.

Im not convinced that he's not a crest above the CFL stars we've had in the past. Keep in mind that he did what he did his second year out of college.

Why would he regret saying it? It's the truth. Every football player wants to play in the NFL, earn the big bucks while playing against the best competition in the world while being treated like gods.
Rourke was the best QB to come to the CFL in decades. He lit up the league in his 2nd year. He deserved the accolades.

You mean no one wanted to trade for the biggest superstar in waiting? A nation's heart breaks.

It was mostly a defensive thing and not turning the ball over.  The game he had in the Grey Cup was above any game he had during the regular season or in the playoff game. Call it what you want to call it.

He won the Grey Cup. He had a good game and the bombers secondary played a horrible game.  Doesn't erase the fact that he threw 14 td's and 12 interceptions all season and he's never thrown more than 18 touchdown passes in a single season. He's stop gap qb for a team until that team gets a bonafide starter.

Yes, one good game or bad game does not erase an entire body of work. Even bad QBs have a good game once in a while, and great QBs have a bad game....neither makes one the other.

With Fajardo there is also significant issues with accuracy on deep throws.

I think MBT is a significantly better passer. He almost threw for 5000 yards his last year in the CFL with the argos.

Its laughable that Fajardo claims to be taking less money to help the team remain competitive. He's talking like if he's Bo Levi Mitchell in his prime. I doubt there's a team in the league outside of Montreal who would pay him starters money.  And you certainly can't pay a guy like that for more than what he is. You're going to need to build an allstar team around him for that offense to be league average. Credit to him for playing the best game of his career when it mattered most. I feel the team is being emotional but dedicating to him when they could probably attract a better option like MBT. But he did win a Grey Cup as their starting quarterback so its more of a reward for that than it is a wise decision for the team.

The league is doing reasonably well considering the pandemic and the effect it had on this league and others. No teams went under during the pandemic. There seems to be reasonable hope in markets like Toronto and BC. Edmonton is struggling but that is not because of something the commissioner did or did not do. It is because they've been poorly run for years. The oilers lead the NHL in attendance mostly because they got lucky and were so poorly run for so long that eventually, their ineptitude resulted in them being gifted one of the most dynamic players in the history of hockey. This is something that Im sure also has an effect on the Elks. In Winnipeg we have a decent NHL team, a playoff caliber team and yes the Bombers are doing so well that i think it has had a negative impact on the Jets. Do we not give the commish any credit for this while blaming him for the situation in Edmonton?
It's difficult to measure exactly the impact the pandemic had on sports. But i would say that a couple of factors are that the pandemic taught sports fans that the game isn't as important as they previously believed. And this applies to all sports leagues. The game is not too important to shut down, pause, and cancel. There's also some lingering fear about going to places with large groups of people which has negatively impacted sports attendance. And also when leagues paused or canceled people developed other hobbies which are no in competition with sports. Thankfully some new revenue streams have opened up to replace some of this loss. Ambroisie rubs me the wrong way. Something about his presentation and personality just doesn't inspire me. But I reject the notion that all things considered he's doing some kind of horrible job. Under Cohon there were a lot of old stadiums and tax payer dollars went into building new stadiums and improving some old stadiums. He benefitted from that. Yes he pushed for new stadiums but any commisher would do the same if and when it is feasible. At this point the shine of these new stadiums have come off to some degree.
