  1. I don't really see him bouncing finding a new home in the NFL at this time. He was cut a week early and every year there's a new college crop fighting it out for roster spots. Would be great to have a guy like this actually come to the bombers after having been drafted. Typically we never see the players we draft who go to the NFL.
  2. Yes it includes those games. This number should improve with back to back against Saskatchewan and then Montreal.
  3. The defense has taken steps forward from last season. But still not good enough. 2017 Passing yards against per game: 321.6, 2017 Rushing yards against per game: 96.7 2018 Passing yards against per game: 286.20, 2018 Rushing yards against per game: 95.1
  4. Things are typically not as bad as they appear to be when things appear bad and things are not as good as they appear to be when they appear to be good. Winnipeg's defense played lights out for 2 and a half quarters in Calgary. But after so many 2 and outs by the bombers offense eventually Calgary is going to get some things figured out. The defense starts to think they need to win the game for the team with a turnover and end up cheating ect. Had the bombers offense done anything outside of the Streveler trick play to Lankford they probably would have done something that is rarely done which is win a game in Calgary. Personally, this one is more on the offense than the defense to me. The defense even came up with a key short yardage turnover late in the game to give the offense a chance. But of course, it only led to a field goal. Saskatchewan is playing good football but by no means are they the Calgary Stampeders. Winnipeg will likely split the home and home series with the Riders and then have a bye-week before hosting Montreal. At that point the team will be 7-6 and very much still in contention for a home playoff game.
  5. They had better not.
  6. When play makers make plays and the quarterback executes I think I lot of plays calls look like great play calls. The players had their chances but blew them. It’s a different game if nichols doesn’t underthrow that ball to Adams and Adams doesn’t drop it.
  7. I’m holding out hope for Zystra. He was injured and missed the first two pre-season games and didn’t get a target in the 3rd game. But he was only in when Seimian was playing so...
  8. I’m cheering for the riders here. Bc finishing low enough to provide us with the 1st overall pick in next years draft is the highest achievement a bomber fan can ask for.
  9. I would give it one more week... if this team loses on Labor Day then I’d do some sort of shake up. Either start streveler or fire hall.
  10. P When your running back rushes for less than 17 yards play action is pretty useless.
  11. Compared with Mike Reilly no qb in the CFL seems to be up to snuff. I think Nichols is being affected by the lack of a training camp and having less mobility. Last year he took steps forward after working on his speed very hard in the offseason. Now he's having to work with less mobility than he had to begin with. He's still by far our best bet. This team can beat any team in the league if the team plays declined focused football. Something they hadn't done vs ottawa.
  12. Nichols does need to play better but I think we would had lost this game even if Mike Reilly was our quarterback. How many penalties did Nichols take? This game IMO was lost on undisciplined play across the board. How many 2 point converts and touchdown drives by ottawa had occurred after Winnipeg got the stop only to have given Ottawa a second life through a pentalty? Most of the time it was a penalty that had nothing to do with making the defensive stop. I’m sorry but this was one of Nichols better games this season. If the defense and the offense hadn’t taken uncharacteristic penalties we’d be celebrating a win and nichols likely ends up with 300 yards passing and zero turnovers. It doesn’t bother me that he was boo’d but did we really expect Matt Nichols to put up 45 points and win the game. He never had and never will be that type of quarterback. We can win with Nichols but not like this. With Nichols as our qb we need to do all the little things Right and we found out what happens when we do all the little things wrong.
  13. I’m actually more concerned about who will do the holding on field goals. Streveler ?
  14. Any word on who is going to be starting in place of Weston Dresslor? Is this how Flanders finally gets back into the lineup?
  15. The problem with Gaitor is that he’s a spectator even when he’s starting in the secondary
  16. Not wrong. Matty has to play better or we won't be able to compete with Calgary or Edmonton in the playoffs. But that's not a position we can address. Streveler needs to sit back and learn for a couple years before challenging Matty. He just needs to do whatever he needs to do to get back to where he was at last season.
  17. Winnipeg should consider signing him. Our receiving core lacks the depth of talent that other top tier teams have and talent wise he's still one of the top guys in the CFL if he plays receiver on a regular basis. Or maybe we should just wait for Montreal to cut Jackson.
  18. Simonise and Washington are both 6'4. So im not too worried about it.
  19. I think it probably had more to do with showing Bowman respect. Instead of releasing him they sniffed around to see if anybody would give up a ceremonial draft pick for him. There's nobody you're gonna draft in the 8th round that you could just sign as an undrafted free-agent.
  20. Ted Wyman‏ @Ted_Wyman 8m8 minutes ago More The condition on the #Bombers return in the Adarius Bowman trade is this: If he does well in Montreal, the Bombers get an eighth-rounder. If he doesn't, they get nothing. But they do save money on salary. #CFL
  21. Hopefully, the cap space gets used by Geoff Gray in a few weeks.
  22. An 8th round pick is tantamount to having been released.
  23. His was in a role that required making the catches available to you in a low volume position. Somebody like Petermann could likely do a better job in that role as a Canadian.
  24. Honestly we'd be just as good if not better if we starting another Canadian receiver. Perhaps the team looks at starting Simonise and adding Flanders to there roster once he's healthy.
  25. Not sure how much the money matters at this point. He was getting paid 140k for the season and likely received a significant chunk of that in bonuses. I’d like to see the team give him 5 or 6 targets to see if we can’t get him going. He does seem to be getting open.
