  1. The Bombers may not have reported it as a Concussion however Willy said in his last interview that "I Remember everything" when asked if he was "Out" And When asked if he wanted to go back in he said "I answered all my protocol questions... I felt fine" ( When he was in the Tunnel ) So Mike O'Shea can say it was upper body all he wants but Willy confirmed it was his head they don't ask you protocol questions if you have a broken arm...
  2. Lets hope that continues ( pace to 27 vs 71 ) however from a D perspective we are on pace for 9 sacks and I would think that would be worst in CFL history ...
  3. Also the rec. There were a few plays, one were Willy got pissed at JFG cause he didn't react in time to a pass....may have been the interception actually. Rec need to know when to run an option route and when to look for a ball. The greatest ever was very good at that! Yeah .. it was definitely after the interception. JFG wasn't even remotely aware the ball was coming his way and Willy was none too happy about it. There were was at least one / two more instances after Brohm came in where the blitz was on and JFG didn't appear to make that read and adjust his route accordingly .. not everyone was on the same page that game. I would say that when facing a team you know will send a blitzs on a regular basis you should always have a blitz/quick option designated and change it up so that the D can't key on one thing at that player should be ready from the snap of the ball then there should never be a miss communication... Whatever system the Bombers are using it hasn't work under Marcel B...
  4. You make a very good point that it might be Richie Hall D's are too old school for the new rules ? That and some players in the wrong positions... Randlie should be a CB and it seems Bass is out of his league ( not sure why he made the team ) and Hurl seems lost
  5. It me it isn;t a Talent issue we have the Top LT and one of the Top C and a high draft at RG and a strong vet at LG and a good player at RT and a second year player at RB and a SB that came in to help we have more than enough player to help but the Bomber don't seem to get that you need QUICK options to counter the Biltz no slow developing ones.... and you want player out in space with lots of room. If they sent Cotton into the flat a LB would have to cover him otherwise they could give up 20+ yards but when you keep him in to block you are bring another D player closer to your QB to me our OC is looking at it wrong... Instead of max protect ( which isn`t workng ) he should be spreading the D out and if they don`t cover and want to Blitz good luck to them .... you toss it over their head and we will still be running...
  6. There wasn't one on the play Willy got injured his only ( and best ) option was to throw the ball away... It sounding like a broken record but this coaching staff and in especially our OC has no clue how to handle a Blitz...
  7. They just did it in Regina. Regina wasn't brining the house every other play like the Cats They were sending 5 or 6 on most passing downs, and they have probably the best pass rushing end and tackle in the league. Hamilton didn't send much more than that, the Bombers just had the wrong gameplan. The Bombers handled it in Regina by using the backs just beyond the rush in the passing game and hitting hot routes with max protect on. Took way too long vs Hamilton to get into max protect even as it became obvious that just leaving 5 in to block was not allowing Willy to even get his eyes downfield. Ended with Willy out of the game. Greaves chasing guys and leaving his inside gap wide open did not help, along with Picard being unable to take on anybody when he gets isolated by a blitz or stunt. To me the bigger issue is our OC since we have not been able to handle the Blitz since he has been our OC that is the single biggest problem with the Bomber offense at this time IMO... our Oline can only do so much you need to know where to go with the ball when you see a blitz and that is where the Bombers have struggled...IMO...You need to make a team pay for Blitzing and the Bombers have consistently failed to do that...If it was me I would be passing over the top on single coverage to try and go for a home run at least once in a while...
  8. Not sure we can relax when we got humiliated at home and our IGF record is 4-14 maybe we can relax when we lose by 3 points in a hard fought contest.
  9. Burke did throw his players under the Bus and O'Shea never does both have good qualities as well however there is nothing wrong with pointing out their flaws it isn't being hypocritical... I don't mind O'Shea but he does have annoying habits he is Very Stubborn it seems.... I am not sure the organization made the correct player selections in many positions this year...LB being the most obvious.

  11. Sometimes when I read posts like this I honestly think I must live in an alternate universe, and some here are definitely in dreamland. Do you guys just pass out automatically when Marve is on the field? Is that why you can't see what he does on the run? I also don't get this need by some here to crap on Marve. Why don't you like him? Did he pee in your corn flakes or something? No one here is crapping on Marve. What we're doing is laughing at those of you who think Marve is some kind of savior. You just called him deadly accurate. He's not, and the stats show that. Marve's fancy footwork distracts everyone from the fact that he's still green behind the ears. yeah yeah the stats show that blah blah blah. Go and watch that home game again from last year against Calgary. He threaded a twenty yard pass on the run while being chased right into the arms of Brett Carter. I can count probably on one hand how many Winnipeg QB's I've watched over the past 20 years who could have made that throw, and completed it, on target. That's talent that you can't teach. Agreed not many can make that play ( to Carter ) much more talent than Brohm not sure what the coaches see in him ( or in many of the other players )
  12. Why they got cut and they kept Bass is beyond me... Not saying Bass is bad but S. Brown and D. Allen had much better College Careers so they should have been around to at least the 2nd pre-season Game IMO
  13. That wasn't just another loss, and combine that with the TSN stat that we haven't had a winning record ( or even close ) at home its very concerning. I understand the team was rattled after Willy was knocked out but they got humiliated at HOME so not just a lost .. It will be interesting to see they respond ( and important ) in the next game...
  14. Agreed the only former Argos worth picking up so far has been JFG the others have been busts ( Romby B,. EJ etc ) ...Not a fan of Thad Gibson? He did take a dumb penalty last friday .I have never seen Gibson so I am not sure about him, however it seems the Bombers have given him EVERY opportunity and so far he hasn`t done much I don`t think he has even played a regular season game for us...so lets see why the Bomber as so high on him... they have given him 2 leaves one last year and one this he better be good otherwise I will start to question how they have handled mister Gibson... So you straight up deny knowing what he is capable of or even seeing him but still feel the need to slight him.. Makes sense. Also, the dislike of Picard, Rempel and Darwin Adams seems misplaced lol. I was referring to the former Argos from last year specifically, and Gibson didn't step on the field in 2014 for the Bombers.... so of all of the Argos that came here in 2014 only JFG was the only one that was good for the Bombers... If Gibson turns out this year great but he was a bust in 2014 Gibson was injured, I believe. Man. you're so quick to judge if a player is a "bust". Again referring to 2014 so I should have said "Last year JFG was the only former Argo that was good for the Bombers and the others Busts" And Gibson took a leave of absence just after the trade then was only a practice player for many weeks until the last few games was going to get into one of the last two games then got hurt in practice.

  17. Vega and Whittaker are both washed up too. If Vega's healthy, he's far from washed up... Agreed Vega isn't washed up however he was never a dominate DE and won't be this year either he is a solid DE that is nothing special...

  19. Willy will start the game so he will get the first half and possibly some time into the 3rd Quarter depending on how the game goes.
  20. The point is that when he looked good the book wasn't out on Printers yet and teams didn't play to just keep him in the pocket. Once he came back and people knew what he was about they took away his legs and he couldn't beat them with his arm. We simply don't know if Marve can do that yet. Being able to scramble and run is a good asset for a qb to have, but they still need to be able to pass from the pocket first and foremost. Agree to disagree. There's more than one way to be a good QB. If you're a Ricky Ray type, that's from the pocket. If you're a Flutie or Reilly type then it's from moving the pocket around and using your legs when needed. Printers had a great year, went to the NFL, wasn't the same when he came back. He turned out to be a one trick pony. His biggest problem wasn't throwing from the pocket, it was that he wasn't the brightest bulb in the box and his team wouldn't go the extra mile for him. Marve's had less than 60 minutes of playing time behind a horrid O line. Of course we don't know if he can pass from the pocket yet. Being a pocket passer is a good asset to have, but it's not the be all and end all of playing QB. You still fail to grasp the point. Flutie and Reilly could and also can pass from the pocket so keeping them there really doesn't limit how effective they can be. That's what makes them so dangerous, they can hurt you any which way you like. Same deal with Burris or Durant currently. Can you name a qb that was effective who wasn't able to pass from the pocket but could run? They usually have a good stretch and then get figured out. There is more than one way to be a qb, but a qb that can't pass from the spot where qbs spend most of their time is a guy that won't be any good. What in the less than a game of playing time behind a horrid O line makes you think that Marve's one dimensional and can't throw from the pocket? I think Marve will be more than capable of passing from the pocket. However, after watching both his performances and reviewing them a couple nights ago, it became pretty clear that he missed reads and had happy feet at times. When a QB never sets his feet on drop back, it is a pretty clear indicator he is not comfortable with one of two things....contact or his knowledge of the offence. Go back watch the film. It's there. The proof is in the pudding. No one is criticizing him for the play breakdowns where it was on the offensive line. However, one thing after reviewing his performances became abundantly clear, he went into scramble mode at times he was well protected in the pocket. I have no doubt that IF he can learn to set his feet, feel comfortable in the pocket, and make his reads that he could be a very good QB in this league. I, also, have no doubt that if he doesn't he will never have success. Scramble ability is a great asset for a QB to have but alone a QB can't have success. This isn't sandlot football. The more broken plays that happen, the more chance for turnover and the less chance for success. Might as well throw the playbook out the window if a QB is going to go sandlot every 2nd play. Did Marve miss read yes however every QB misses reads at times... And Willy missed many reads and had happy feet at times in the the second half of 2014 why not just be happy that Marve can move the team and put point on the board ?
  21. Carlos Anderson link shows his Pro Day as 4.38 that is very fast. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=64468&draftyear=2013&genpos=RB

Marve did bring excitement to the position in a time when Willy was struggling ....
  23. Truthfully, Greaves was never going anywhere .. that was just a lot of idle speculation by fans .. Kirk Penton Article ... It never made sense Greaves has been one of our best OL for years, rarely gets beat...
  24. What I expect is more coverage of what is really going on... It seems there is less coverage than normal, maybe that isn't a bad thing since Training Camp Hype is just that it doesn't really matter until the real bullets fly. It would be nice to get a report on how all of the rookies are doing in main camp and how some of the battles are shaping up... I am planning on going at least once this week so I can see for myself since that is the best way to see how things are going...
  25. TIm Burke was a very likeable person, he was just in a bad situation...I agreed he wasn't a good head Coach material but he did the best he could and I respect the person he is...
