  1. Agreed , Rookie camp was more exciting , as for Main Camp its a yawner so far, not sure if it just the lack of good updates or what, it seems that only Darrin Bauming is at the Main camp based on the tweets, not sure what is up with Kirk Penton maybe he pulled a hammie on his Texting finger not many updates from him... I guess it doesn't really matter much as long and the Bombers come out with a bang, however it will be a tough first 2 games... As for Richards its hard to tell, on a RR forum they mentioned he has had Concussion and Hammie issues in the past... And Yantz has looked good and heard good reports not sure he will be #3 but he will make the roster in some form IMO... I think one of Marve Portis and Braum gets cut to save money. At this point it seems Portis is doing the best of the backup QBs however its early, before camp started I would have said Portis was the one to go however he has been looking good based on the limited updates we have been getting...
  2. Yes it is slippery however good technique would have prevented him from getting flattened, he did look much better in the Scrimmage, I get the impression he is a much better Run Blocker than Pass Blocker... And when he came out of the scrimmage it seemed to take him a long time to catch his breath, I am not sure if he is just very nervous still or if he is out of shape ? Do you recognize whose the DL that flattened him? could be the big guy Randall? Sorry no I didn't catch his number I was behind the Oline so I didn't see who it was and I was focused more on the Oline they did well early with the exception of Everett he seemed to struggle every time I saw him, it seemed to me Everett had the wrong technique he was too upright from the waist up so he was loosing his balance. Then after a few reps the DLine players started to do very well they all seemed to be winning their battles...

  4. I was able to go for about 20 minutes you are not missing much, when I was there the Oline and Dline where doing drills and the others did a punt coverage drill with 3 players going down vs the returner and the coaches stressed the 5 yards it was a bit boring since it was just trying to teach the new players about the 5 yard rule, the only 2 players that caught my eye for no reason in particular other than I thought who is that where #50 Warden and #22 Randle , I did watch some of the OL vs DL and at first the Oline was doing well then the Dline players started to dominate. My first look at Chungh wasn't good he got flattened by one of the Dline ( Chungh did look much better in the scrimmage ) . I stayed for the Scrimmage and it was uneventful for the most part all QB got reps and they rotated players in and out every 2 plays or so it was hard to tell much from the scrimmage... Mimms is a monster the only issue might be he is too tall to throw over ? and our RECs looked good I didn't have a player list with me but I picked out Reaves and Richards both big targets that can run, neither had any balls thrown their way when I was watching... Anderson ( RB ) looks very small... short and light not sure he will be able to make it as a RB in the CFL...
  5. Maybe because Richards has yet to show up? Richards is a non-counter. Richards and Waggoner are now listed on the Bombers Site Update: And there are reports the Bombers have added both 6'3" and run 4.40 - 4.50 40s so big and Fast 77 David Gettis WR Baylor http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=56514&draftyear=2010&genpos=WR 79 Greg Childs WR Arkansas http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=82227&draftyear=2012&genpos=WR This Report makes it official International DBs Dominique Franks and Shaquille Richardson, International receivers Greg Childs and David Gettis, National linebacker Garrett Waggoner, and National receiver Addison Richards have all been added, and will be on the field for day one of rookie camp. http://www.bluebombers.com/article/bombers-add-six-to-roster-ahead-of-rookie-camp
  6. Not necessarily. He may be taking Bucknor or JFGs spot as a starter. Further to that, he is not taking the spot of an American, he would be allowing us to put a veteran import elsewhere in the lineup. Hurl's job is not the one on the line. He won't play safety in the CFL. Unless your name is Mike O'Shea or Richie Hall you are completely unqualified to make that statement. My opinion is that he won't play safety in the CFL Its hard to say how things will work out through Training Camp, it is possible to play a NAT as safety this year we have enough depth ( more than enough ) It boils down to what is best for the Team, Leggett is a very good safety so he would have to beat someone out at DB... Waggoner played Safety at Darthmouth so he could play it in the CFL... Here is an interesting article about Waggoner http://3downnation.com/2015/05/19/waggoner-set-to-become-3rd-generation-cfler-thanks-to-moms-twitter/
  7. I suggested this possibility a few weeks ago before the draft. It wasn't a popular opinion, but is one that makes even more sense to me now. A Waggoner/Newman safety spot makes more sense to me then them competing at WIL. I, also, think Leggett would make a great SAM. I agree that the Bomber should look at playing a NAT in the S position however I don't think Leggett would be a good SAM he is only 186 LBs, he might be a good DB or CB ?
  8. It was a broken leg not his Knee, if does seem like we might have a glut of NATs on Defence that can play multiple positions its a nice problem to have....
  9. I am no expert however from what I have read recently generally they are just not eligible "In Time" for the CFL Draft, Waggoner applied for his Canadian Citizenship and didn't get it in time for the CFL Draft.
  10. Its not too many its too many expensive Canadian Oline is the problem, signing Pickard at $200,000 per year seems to have thrown a bit a wrench into salary cap. I sure hope he lives up to the salary. I am a big fan of Greaves and I hope the Bombers manage to keep him...
  11. Agreed I don't get passing on Durant, too me the Bombers should have taken him and then see who was better between him and Richards then you could deal the one you don't like for a pick next year...
  12. And we already have 3 FBs listed on the Roster so yes I am puzzled by the Morgan and Lattanzio selections...
  13. Greaves ? I would think if anyone Neufeld would be on notice, however I don't see any OL coming in and taking a starting spot out of TC except for the unknown ( Injuries , trades ) Personally I think it is pointless to take an OL at #2 they will just sit this year a possibly next year as well. All I'm saying is if Greaves and Neufeld are being challenged for their spots by Goossen and Chung... that's a very good thing... I think we can all agree on that... Agreed 100%. Except for maybe Willy, no player should ever be comfortable with their roster spot. Willy shouldn't be comfortable until he proves he is a no #1 QB, last year he started like one however he didn't finish as one, once he does it for a full year then year I agree...

  15. I wouldn't call it a nightmare, that's a little extreme don't you think? Needing two of Thomas, Briggs or Sherman on the field at all times would not be good. Who knows if Newman will be anywhere close to where he was pre-injury? Briggs has big potential, and I see him as kind of a hedge on Hurl, but the other two can't handle more than a couple dozen snaps a game in the right situations. I think we might end up starting 8 Canadians for some in-game flexibility, assuming everyone is healthy. The sooner we get Louie Richardson off the roster the better too. This move probably guarantees it, we've got a good teams guy in Ivan Brown signed too who probably takes Richardson's spot directly, plus draft picks and Newman. Newman will be in the mix at LB too. Newman is listed as DB so I was thinking he would get a shot at Safety ?
  16. We won 6 of the 8 games that Neufeld started why would the Bombers cut him ? And why do you think Everett makes the team as anything more than a practice roster player ?
  17. He hadn't signed a contract at the time of the CFL draft though. Drafted May 6th and signed with green bay on May 10th. Joe Mack thought he knew better because of his NFL sources I guess they let him down... At least Walters is taking the correct approach, I don't aways agree with Walters however I respect him much more than I do Joe Mack.
  18. I haven't seen Hurl play so I can't comment on him , however O'Shea was as good as any LB I have seen play regardless of nationality. He may not have had the best 40 time ( he wasn't the fastest LB ) however he made up for it in Smarts Toughness and Desire. I would take O'Shea as my MLB anytime he was everything you want, there have been better MLB in the CFL but not many...
  19. Nothing wrong with his speed he ran a 4:53 40 on his pro day. his vertical was below average however his 3 Cone was excellent http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=90185&draftyear=2012&genpos=WR I am not sure why BC let him go but lets see how he does in TC and pre-season.
  20. Yes I looked at a number of other teams and most teams are well below 75 , Sask is another example of a team well below the limit. I think it depends on how much a team needs to improve, the Bombers clearly need to improve in so many areas that they need to bring in as many players as possible. If they start to have more success in the next few years maybe they will be closer to the minimum of 68 players....
  21. Reaves should be a counter since his draft year was more than 2 years ago.Griffins is the only non-counter assuming he has never been to another CFL camp before ( I don't believe he has ) So that means the Bombers have 2 open spots on the TC Roster. How do you figure Reaves' draft year was more than two years ago? It was 2014 by my count. Well I am not sure what his draft year would be because he didn't play football so I assumed that it would be based on his Junior Football age which would have been 22 years old , he is 25 now so that is more than 2 years ago. It could be the Bombers need to a ruling to see if he would be exempt from counting towards the roster limit of 75 this year.
  22. Reaves should be a counter since his draft year was more than 2 years ago. Griffins is the only non-counter assuming he has never been to another CFL camp before ( I don't believe he has ) So that means the Bombers have 2 open spots on the TC Roster.
  23. Yes however since Byrant is one of the top if not the top LT in the CFL then they have 6 INTL OL for the RT position and 1 other practice roster spot.
  24. Agreed I think they will be deleting one or two INTL OL before TC opens.
