  1. Past hour
  2. I know no one feel sorry for me but... being Saturday even with a monsoon I had things to do. The plan was to pvr bothj games then around 6;30 or 7pm MDT, sit down & start watching the Bomber game & staying off social media so I wouldn't know who was winning. Then after the Bomber game, watch the Ottawa@Stamps game from earlier yesterday. A Saturday night of CFL which I love. So, about 6:30 pm when I finally had some free time, I went downstairs, sat down turned on the tv only to discover that I forgot to pvr both games. Missed the entire Stamps vs Ottawa game but was "lucky" to be able to watch the last 11:49 seconds of the fourth quarter of the Bombers@Lions game. I can tell you, my wife knew from upstairs how unhappy I was... My drink I had planned to sip on, some Canadian Club was finished in one gulp. I could have sworn I pvr'd both games. Senior moment.
  3. Last year’s Grey Cup was a turnover fest, can’t blame the defence on that one. The offence has to give the defence a chance to succeed, and that was simply a dreadful performance. The stats throughout the year suggest that the coverage defence strategy works, and again, early on this year, the defence looks promising.
  4. They are playing superbly... now imagine what they might do with a better defensive line...
  5. You should still be able to get pressure tho with your line...also if pressure on QB makes him throw under duress...rushed...or before receiver is open then the DB's will really eat...you have the right guys up front...you will get pressure That mentality in last yrs cup with Arbuckle of all people gave the Argos an time of possession well over 30 mins on us if I recall correctly Hard to score when defence on the field...and wears them down...especially when you have a piss poor offensive game plan of your own...and or are clinging to a QB in decline based on his past success...recipe for losing big games.. Up front we need younger...more athletic and active lineman to compliment WJ and Vaughters...and Lawson...Adams is exactly that...Woods...Person...Bailey are too..Thomas...Korn...are not...I'd actually roster Scmeck over both and have just him and Lawson...he at least is tenacious and is a plus on the jumbo for offence and would serve more use...we also in this scheme need dlineman with technique and hand skills/fighting ability which would help immensely...Thomas and Korn (at this juncture) have none...the aforementioned tho all do
  6. He's always been a sunshine QB -- his play dives when the weather gets gross. Just watching the game on youtube delay right now. His underthrow into the endzone to a wide open guy on 3rd and 5 was uggggly.
  7. Today
  8. More pressure up the middle typically means more defenders at the line and less coverage downfield. That’s not how Jordan Younger operates. Last year too, they ranked last in sacks but still managed to finish first in offensive points given up, net offensive yards given up, first downs given up and passing yards given up. If the Bombers can replicate that this year I think we should be thrilled!
  9. I do think that is by design. Paul Lapolice touched on it in his Bombers season preview. Since last year, they have adopted a coverage defence rather than a pressure defence. Last year, it resulted in the defence ranking first in offensive points given up, net offensive yards given up, first downs given up and passing yards given up despite ranking last in sacks and second-last in interceptions. If they can reproduce that this year I won’t complain!
  10. If they have fans on in a dome it can push a ball up high...or knock one down...depending on direction u going on field That being said...some of ZC throws where air isn't an issue were brutal too
  11. Several guys need a shot...and a couple need a seat on the PR or IR Our 2 older ends would thrive with a youthful upside rotation end...and consistent inside push with a combo of Adams...Lawson and Woods... Did Korn get more than 2 reps? Even so he not cfl caliber...we seen all too well how many reps Thomas got and how for the majority of the reps hes just pointless...and times he does show a lil push in pocket has nothing left or ability to get off his block and make a play...let alone have any backside pursuit...he needs to be off roster...his "glue" isn't serving any purpose...we have more than enough glue guys on defence And T.Jones needs to be impactfull and noticeable if he your MLB and make plays all over the place..and he isn't...hes decent in the box or crashing down...but in space...coverage...or sidlene to sideline hes a liability and basically invisible... When BO is back we be better served using Person for Cooley spot...Bailey for Weitz...did he even see feild?..insert J.Jones for one of T.Jones or wilson and allow Ayers and J.Jones to take majority of reps...Griffin too should be our SAM...he'd be a league allstar as a full-time starter... For what Sterns gives us and has shown I'd also give Mitchell the next games...he if dialed in is a legit threat and woukd give more space for the other receivers to work..Sterns is just run of he mill average... Why we didnt pick up Hakanuva is baffling...he'd have offered more than what we have behind our starters...I'd even try 3 national recievers with him in lineup to free up an import for defence or oline...
  12. Watching the replay during the game. I said it looked like Demski accelerated when he spotted the ball and then realized it was going to be short. So maybe there's something too it.
  13. As with others..we win despite the less than optimal players...he won't change anything...I've said before we have won a lot despite his poor choices...but those days may be numbered as a lot of the depth that compensated for it..while in their prime...is either not prime anymore...or gone He said it himself in TC ...you watch tape on a guy from yrs ago and you see the production they can do...or something along those lines...and he just clings to it.. we've seen it way too much...he doesn't forward think...let alone develop guys along the way to step in...or just flat out replace guys who aren't the best option cause we've won with them before...or he just likes them cause they been here forever...and that's bad. Our depth has eroded so bad because of it...and again have a lot of just ST only guys...again...are reluctant to let guys who could and can make a difference play legit reps...and a couple don't even get a sniff of the roster Its gonna bite us in ass again this yr...just you watch...unless he does a serious change in his opinion...or Walters and or Miller steps in and plays Boss
  14. Jokes on you, the game summary I read that was negative about everything raved about Jake Thomas blocking the entire line by himself, already forwarded it to coach for his bulletin board
  15. On the broadcast they were talking about our D being faster this year but is it? Parker is faster than BA, Lawson and Adams getting more reps are faster than Jake and Schemekel but Kyrie, Willie, Vaughters um no.
  16. The rare athlete can maintain a high level of performance well into their 30's but damned few. I fear that Collaros' trend has been down for about two years now, and, worse yet, I can foresee O'Shea doing a Matt Nichols on him, trotting him out again and again even when Collaros is done like dinner.
  17. Good All our DB's All our LB's (that played) Wheetfall Eli with a TD...... Specials BC's Team Ted shirts 2and 0 Bad 2nd half Zach Didn't love some of teh play calls on O especially in the 3rd O-line wasn't great Willie getting himself ejected Clercuius had a bad game, no ifs and butts, if he is hurt sit him and let him get healthy Ugly Listening to TSN go on and on and on about Rourke.... Lack of depth at NI reciever-Clercuous played hurt and Demski clearly was hurting.....We need better depth here Lack of D-line depth....more specifically end....Willie and Vaughters are older, and while still good, I strongly believe they need to be spelled off more I also question the bolded part....I think each week that path is getting narrower
  18. He’s 2nd in the league in pr yards, despite all the other guys having a game played on him, and first in avg. he’s only got 3 ko returns but his 29 yards per is in the top group of guys. Most of whom have broken one and have 3-4 times more returns this year. Hes been exceptional so far, when he does break one he’s probably going to go on a run and have silly averages. Im interested to see what Logan can do as an offensive rotational guy, but if he isn’t healthy soon he might not have a path to make the AR. On top of that, vaval looked really good at times at db in pre season.
  19. That's two games BC has been unable to establish a running game with a pretty good running back, the defence as an entity is playing superbly.
  20. Griffen has been a beast but what position would he qualify as an allstar? Holm and Parker so good. Bridges seems to be weak link, beaten a number of times but Masoli couldn:t make throw
  21. Bombers +8 on net punting over Lions in the two games. Sheahan's net through 2 games would be 2nd in the league last season. But yeah, Bombers suck right?
  22. Parker.......had him self a gaaaame Griffen......star written all over him Wheatfall.....quietly becoming our go to guy .................Didn't see enough of the Cool kid....maybe next game if Brady is still on the mend
  23. I'm wondering if there is anything to the idea that the Dome is "dead air" and you need an extra 5 yards on throws/kicks..... Zach said in post game that it's on him to make better throws get the job done no matter what, but I'm curious...
  24. We need more pressure up the middle....Most of the time Masoli was playing pitch and catch....Offence seemed complacent after scoring the first 20 pts and seemed content to sit on the lead...Can't do that with the top clubs and walk away with 2 pts......Overall we were adequate.... Did not like our punter....Seems to lack leg strength when we need a deep ball....Not good enough
  25. The lack of pressure on Streveler could have had more to do with his ability to run. Dline has to contain him. Collaros, not so much. They know they can go after him and force mistakes. Im willing to let the season play out. But last night made me question (even more) the offer of a contract extension before the season started.
  26. Give Collaros the Game 1 OL and let's see. Streveler had near zero pressure on dropbacks, a bit of pressure on some RPO/rollout stuff they did because he's running stiff off the knee injury. He also put the ball up for grabs a bunch in those conditions, especially in the first half of that first game. He has a decent deep ball with no pressure and moves it out quick. Almost no intermediate game which Collaros lives on. The OL is the problem right now and the big difference on O between the two games. There's no consistent 4-5 yards on the run at BC, it's a big run or basically nothing. The Game 1 OL we had that run game with some bursts too, but Peterson was getting 3-4 yards before first contact almost every touch.
  27. Pearson needs to get a shot
