Or...they were leaving the flats open because ZC is well known to be more of a downfield passer. QB/OC then decide to run a more patient or conservative offense, based on that. Richie Hall would often leave the flats open, based on the assumption that teams wouldn't be patient enough to cash in on it. But when you have Brady O or even Demski, it changes how you can attack that.

I might be wrong but I thought the league made a change a few years ago that means years spent in the NFL count as years served in the CFL (for NAT players). So a drafted player who was in the NFL for three years (even if only on practice rosters) would be able to sign the going rate and would not be bound by the CBA rules binding NATs to $75k for their first three years in the league. If this is correct, Elgersma has no particular need to burn a year at this point.

Right now he is going to exhaust his NFL opportunities but when that’s exhausted and it could happen pretty quickly I think he becomes pretty eager to sign given the opportunity to burn through a year of his entry level deal in the CFL. In spite of all the lamentations about the DL, the Bombers have have allowed the fewest rushing yards per game in the CFL. Specials have been good too. There are a few bright spots on this team.

While I am always a Bomber Fan (since forever) at times you have to face the truth, at least IMHO the Riders across the board are a better team that what the Bombers have. Especially in the trenches. However at times the weaker team prevails but IMHO this will not be the day.
