  1. Past hour
  2. Because BC. I’ll stick with Kenny Lawler.
  3. That’s not even the question. The question is how and what do you watch? Are you watching the line play, are you watching the coverage reading the play as it develops, or are you following the ball and looking at the qb? Watching football and following the qb/ball with your eyes is like driving on a scenic road, and staring at the head of the person in the seat beside you. I watch line play in general because it’s what I understand the best, and up here we don’t get great angles in general. And tbh passing concepts are not terribly interesting up here. Oh it’s flood to the field side again. Oh it’s dagger in the boundary.
  4. Some people can’t see the Forrest from the trees so they believe no one else can either. Can’t talk people like that out of their position with logic, because they didn’t get to it by logic. Gio is the most impressive ol prospect in the cfl draft, and out of the Canadian college system in 20ish years. Literally his only knock in the nfl is, he played his ball up here before going pro. If he had played a decent career at Alabama, he’d a been a top 5-10 nfl pick. He’s 6’7 350+, with a 90th percentile athletic testing in run and jump drills, by nfl ol standards. His 10 yard splits are faster than some of our skilled position imports. Hes more athletic than Dobson, significantly taller, jacked and long arms. Hes built like a madden custom character. Dobson struggled to stay explosive and powerful in his frame as he dropped weight. Gio is stronger and more explosive in a build that doesn’t need to drop a pound. Hes also a tackle in the cfl. Gabe Wallace has some potential to be a rt. Gio is a tackle day one. He arrives here, he’s the best ol to land here since desjarlais. Import or Canadian. In football teams cover tall long Tackles for their potential to play with great bend and leverage, manu is already there. The nastiness we scout first and foremost in ol? That we draft inspite of the rest of the tool box? He’s got that too. If manu was 6’1, and 310 he’d still be a top pick in the CFL draft. If he wasn’t nasty and have the high quality footwork he has, he’d still be a first round talent. The only reason we got his rights is he had soo much going for him he was selected in the 4th round of the nfl draft. Know who else was drafted that high in the nfl on the bombers? No one. He’s a bigger stronger leaner more explosive vanterpool/randolph. Any one who wants to see for them self, skip his college tape and watch him manhandle nfl players in ps with the lions. Lots of film available it’s extremely impressive.
  5. Back to the Lawler well I go...
  6. To state the obvious: all the coaching in the world cannot compensate if the player just not good enough and keeps getting sent out.
  7. Today
  8. Cat fight next weekend and the Lions can’t cover anyone. Lawler
  9. And the HC has input...and also signs off on a lot of the scheme and playbook...game plan...basically sets his roster...sure he gets input but it's his final.decision and yes from experience will dictate who he wants to see reps...he in constant convo with coords during game...hence the headset..it's not just for spotter to tell him to throw a flag...and this is from experience...not an opinion or assumption He's the headcoach and good and bad...yes it lands on him Also again...from experience he can and does have say in plays and personel to run it...and again...thays experience talking...not opinion. And the HC will override a lot...or suggest a specific set or formation for particular down and distance.. and who he wants...and the Cordinators do best to facilitate it...based on what they provided for players...and in a lot of critical plays...situation it's the HC making the decisions...hence head coach....no offence here but I think you are a little mislead or unsure of how things actually take place. He definitely needs to start coaching and getting involved and discard the self governing...and in some regards his involvement needs to be changed...
  10. That must mean ppl watch other games. I’ve seen a few. All I know is don’t see guys wide open every play in other games. That’s partially talent or lack of and it’s partially scheme.
  11. Sayles is good but fox and garbutt spent lots of time on the injury report when here and quite honestly were underwhelming. I mean ppl could go back and read the posts about them towards the end and the majority felt it was time for changes there also. A few good games and a couple sacks don’t change things really. Yes our DL sucks but fox and garbutt were already here and the DL sucked then also. Why ppl pretending the DL hasn’t been an issue for 2 3 seasons. The DT position hasn’t been great since Doug brown retired. Stove was good but he’s out the league now. Left and got hurt immediately. The DEs have been crap since Jeffcoat retired. Doug brown was replaced by Jake Thomas and the other end was habba and garbutt who weren’t good here. Ppl grew tired of them quickly. The problems on DL are talent related for sure. Was last year when 3 of those Hamilton DL were here also. The DEs and DT in camp were better than our starters. They kept the wrong players out of camp. Not signing Fox Habba or Garbutt aren’t the reason our DL sucks.
  12. Check out Hamilton's DL, just for starters
  13. Who said he doesn’t have flaws but blaming him for everything seems ridiculous. I mean I’m pretty convinced he’s not calling D plays on game days or O plays. Someone brought up a scenario from the last game where we stuffed them then put out Jake and the 3 4 D the next play on 2nd and long. I doubt that’s O’Shea making that play call. That’s Younger. Bend but don’t break but this year they broken.
  14. Well we've seen the same kinds of problems with multiple coordinators and the common denominator is osh... not sure why it's so hard for some people to accept that Mike O’Shea has flaws.
  15. hey look at that we've built a Johnzo sandwich!
  16. Plus a fine and suspension.
  17. Yup...he be an automatic addition for sure Who you talking about?
  18. There's no way this guy is a true Bomber fan. If he was able to get this close to O'Shea all he'd be talking about is roster management lol....
  19. Yesterday
  20. Based on ??? I mean gonna be honest guys. Most the guys you push as the next great thing end up out the league in a year. What is any of this based on? Feelings I guess.
  21. went to the Crankshaft comic website and Riderfans have totally taken over the comments section, what a bunch of bozos.
  22. Yeah. If he comes up, I think you need to dress him immediately. That’s a sick 6th ol, at worst. Some one probably try to scoop him on the pr too.
  23. That’s on the D coordinator tho not O’Shea. Do you just blame O’Shea for everything and ignore the coordinators who definitely have a huge say in things and likely have a larger say in who is and isn’t playing than you think. Crazy theory. What if the problem is the coordinators aren’t very good? I mean younger gets a free ride but the D didn’t adjust the last 2 games at all. At what point is it not O’Shea and it’s the coordinator who is playing the obviously confusing to most scheme.
  24. Calgary basically changed their entire D and are the best in the league really. It’s not about communication it’s about talent. Ours has gotten old and at the same time. You're only as strong as your weakest link and we got a few links broken right now. O’Shea needs to be forced to make some moves and if not he should be fired because who plays is on him. We have had 2 byes and are 3 and 2 now and our D players look gassed. That’s on the talent and on the guy (guys) playing them. Talk about to much moving parts? Uhh really cuz our old guys lead the team in D reps. Someone has lost the plot whether that’s O’Shea or Younger, who I think might not be innocent here. It is his D scheme after all. Despite the narrative, it’s probably younger overplaying the old guys on game days. There’s this narrative O’Shea forces him to play these guys but I’m not sure that’s based on facts. The D sucking is on the coordinator also.
  25. Turns out you get them here and they love it. Getting them here is the issue. There’s a perception about Winnipeg that lots of us think is reasons but turns out hunting fishing and the outdoors is very popular with rich people and the younger guys who just want to play hockey and that’s it, well this is the ideal place for them. I personally don’t want players who can’t deal with the equivalent of 2 weeks really of very cold temperatures. The rest of the time is your typical northern winter. No different than Chicago Minnesota or Wisconsin. Edmonton on average is colder in the winter than we are recently (last 5 years)
  26. Our latest WST Bombers Report is out. We break down last week’s debacle and tee up Bombers at Argos. Also available on all your podcast apps. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3Gfq_8RTLN8&t=13s
  27. Yeah he in tough...not sure he will get PR'd elsewhere...or wait it out a bit...or just come up to get some playtime here He'd be a huge addition none the less...and could anchor a tackle spot for yrs ..well if we pay him after rookie deal
  28. We've had great success in signing players who have played here either through being drafted or traded for. Its free agency with guys who have never played here that we struggle.
