  1. Past hour
  2. Yes, Streveler never played Ford. You said Ford outplayed Streveler. Again, your words. Manziel never got his pension. Ford is the worst starter in the CFL. That is a fact. It's not even close. He's 9th out of 9. The only reason Fajardo isn't playing is the wish that a Canadian qb can win the Elks some games. He will. Maybe 3 or 4. They gave Ford starter money & he never proved anything. Right now, he ain't worth it. Maybe he will, someday.
  3. The degradation or elite play of a QB can determine if a coach is great or dumb. I don't think Zach tossing lame ducks into triple coverage for the first half of the season helped with making Pierce looking good. Same thing happened before when Matt Nichols went noodle arm... suddenly the coaching seemed terrible when the guy wasn't able to throw a 15 yard pass. I'm sure it's a mixture of both which resulted in our team being wishy washy last season. Pierce is gone and if Zach played as poorly as he did last season then Hogan is going to also look like a dumb coach.
  4. So you are saying that you can't compare one QB to another because they've never faced each other? So I wouldn't be able to say that Patrick Mahomes is superior to Zach Collaros because they've never played against each other? Your comment makes no sense. Tre Ford has performed better in the CFL then Strev while having a lesser surrounding cast. So yes comparing one guy vs another he has performed better. Once again... the stats do not lie. The intangibles favour Ford. NFL pension doesn't mean much at all... Are you suggesting that Johnny Manziel who made millions in the NFL was better then any CFL qb who has ever played? Ford is still a work in progress and I wouldn't rate him as a top 5 QB in the CFL at all. I'm at least honest enough to say at this point in time Strev also isn't a top 5 QB in the league and would rank lower then Ford at this point in time.
  5. One more hit & they're both done for the season.
  6. It's a joke, but what do you expect the guy to do when they bring in his replacement 3 days after he's concussed, nothing much has changed, the player says he's good to go and the HC says ok. Trainer can't see inside his head.
  7. Today
  8. O'Shea seemed pretty confident on the coaches' show that Cooley will have no problem with catching the ball
  9. 45 years later, NHL awards John Garrett 2nd assist on historic Gordie Howe goal
  10. Or blocker. People's eyes get really big. So we're impressed with how the guy runs the ball. Now let's get him to do something he's never done in his life in pro football...while someone else does all the running of the ball. Be patient. We'll need the guy at some point I'm sure.
  11. I like that we have three young Canadian linebackers in the mix. I hope that means they're ok with sitting an american linebacker (Kyrie) but not holding my breath. Don't get the appeal of Sterns. Guy was a JAG is Sask.
  12. Stats without context don't mean a hell of a lot... What were the situations in which those stats were accumulated? The bulk of strevelers starts came in his first year as a complete raw rookie early in the year or in year 2 when the team was in the midst of battling for playoff positions... and last year he played more fullback that qb for whatever reason.. When did Ford play? Was it when the elks were already out of contention?
  13. Some hints... 48-Hour Primer | Game 1 vs. B.C. Lions - Winnipeg Blue Bombers
  14. It is intriguing as heck what Cooley could do. If anything else, its time for an offense to come up with something new.
  15. That’s bad wow.
  16. Yeah, it’s a legit concern. You can game plan to make his plays as easy as possible, and the fastest way for him to get up to speed is by playing. We stuck guys from Flanders to Augustine into positions they’d never filled before. At worst you can have him do big kevs blocking and have him playing more of a pass catcher. Even he didn’t have a ton of actually college experience as a pass catcher. Mbt didn’t as a qb either etc.
  17. This is where familiarity bias is stepping in. BC dressed an American fullback who played zero snaps literally last week.
  18. My only concern about Cooley is that he's never been a receiver. He said himself that he's only ever been a power back. Our first pre season game was the first screen pass he ever caught. It feels like it's asking a lot of a guy to step in and take the place of someone that's an actual receiver with years of experience running routes and catching balls.
  19. It is relevant. Injuries affect everyone differently. don't know how that injury will affect him. He may be able to put it out of his mind & play or it may change his style of play. As Booch said on another thread, Streveler has reinvened himself as a qb throwing the new way so his fundamentals now are very good. I"ve been following Chris on Instagram this off season in Arizona & I've sent video clips to Booch & others here so we've all seen the transformation. He doesn't look like a qb who just wants to be known for his tough running ability anymore. He want to be known as a qb who can win games with his arm as well for the Bombers. This is his time to show he can play.
  20. I'd like to see him in a game but what he might bring is wishful thinking we see early in most seasons. I understand what he might bring in those types of play calls on offence. I also understand that eliminating a downfield receiver brings the defence closer to the LOS. That's a concern even above what it does with the ratio. It's not like we can't do those things with Peterson. Being able to rotate him with a slot is not the same as replacing him with a RB on every down.
  21. Ford outplayed Streveler? They've never faced each other. That's a crappy take, c'mon. I haven't seen Ford outplay anyone. He relies on his athleticism & not his brains. Wait till he blows out his knee or achilles. Unfortunately, with his style of play, it's coming. Hey, has Tre Ford got his NFL pension like Streveler? Just asking...
  22. I would rotate Cooley with a slot. I’d have him run screens, motion plays, and block instead of big Kev. He hasn’t had much reps pass catching or blocking but he showed a real aptitude for it. I would also have him return kick offs with the punt returner and have him fielding punts in practice. He agreed not to and in exchange they gave him 1 game instead of 2. Really hate it, no precedent for these suspensions. Yep. Plus, in a league where every one is trying to run variations of the same offence, going against the grain can be a huge advantage. Defences today struggle with run fits against one rb, that’s part of why jet motion is soo effective. You are already pulling a db or two into the fits, now you can force the 3rd best run stopping db to be in the front side of the run play. If you read / use zone to get a dl/lber out of the play good luck stopping Cooley and Brady.
  23. Yeah i dunno what happened but it really seemed like buck got dumb last year.
  24. Geez confirmed concussions for Milligan and Ouellette on Thursday and they are practicing on Tuesday.
  25. Yeah. From zachs off season comments especially. But we also saw a few other signs. Last year mid season ish zach commented about having the play call go too long in the head set at times, which we saw on field frustration from him a few times as well. Covering his ears, hurry up signal to buck on the play call, buck coming down out of the booth during the losing streak etc. for guys like Buck and zach it was just about every red flag you’ll see.

  27. Who won the cup ? Lol...im just poking fun...but who knows...who cares? How many teams wasted a DA on a useless import fullback in history? I can't think of....one...regardless u can have a player play a diff position than what he technically listed as or came into league as..we do it constantly on defence...how many teams field a ser with literally 8 dbs at times...how'd that work out for us...pretty good id say for most part
