How often do teams that played in the Grey Cup go on major spending sprees in fa the following offseason?

Sorry for disliking suckage...this is the only place in my varied career where less than adequate is tolerated and the norm Jake was halfway serviceable maybe 5..6 yrs ago but even then he was bottom teir..we had a decade to upgrade the roster spot...chose not to....not how I roll that's fir sure

They just don’t go over enough to lose draft picks. The salary cap stuff is wild tho cuz nobody on here really has a clue about it. We don’t telly know how much is promo money and other money anymore. Things have changed. Unlimited promo money now really. Bombers making big money. They ain’t saving it all.

He won’t tho since the other owner of the jets is the richest owner in the nhl. Chipman and Thompson are committed to Winnipeg and the downtown hence all the upcoming developments around the area. I mean really.

We exceeded the salary cap in 2 of the last 3 seasons so we are spending the cash.

I think we're missing a positive, Jake will no longer be getting a huge number of reps on the Dline. This means more reps for Lawson and hopefully we actually use Smith and Shay on D to take some of those reps that went to guys like Jake.

Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver also have a million times better night life and city vibe. Some players want to do more then just sitting in a hotel room.

Can someone break down free agents and re-signing of vets for each team and how Winnipeg on average has spend more then others. Because EVERY year on free agency on these boards people go bananas when they see Edmonton spending $50 k more for a guy like Ford, how Hamilton over paid for Lawler, how every other team blowed a tonne of money on over the hill guys.... It's a myth that Winnipeg pays more then others, if anything we are known to be a "cheap" team who isn't dropping the coin that other teams have.

We tank & we're a good one foot & a quarter more through the door that leaves Winnipeg. We can't survive with crowds of 12 & 13000 just like the old Jets couldn't. Chipman can sell this team for over a billion dollars to some American outfit to move it to an American city with 4 times the population. Just watch what happens if we tank.

This is a terrible statement.... so they hired him because he's a nice guy that people like. Is he going to implement his special skill of running forward and dropping to the ground and then getting into the QB's face 3 seconds after the guy tossed the ball?

Interesting piece by Tait as always but I always take his work with a grain of salt as he's a mouthpiece for the club.

Coaching/teaching at the pro level is no easy task. With out question he could provide value as a coach at some level. if that level is pro or not we won’t know. Other wise we’d be loaded with great position coaches, and we aren’t. your right, that is pretty rare. Usually, the guys who do make that move spend a couple years filling gaps in front office and coaching staffs till earning spots. that’s very interesting agree with most of that. My concern with hogan is he showed some serious red flags with fairly low to moderate pressure.

I think it's up. igniificantly. Plus we had a lot of wiggle room to sign Brady & Demski. I think most of that is gone now.

It was probably sarcasm. Cautiously optimistic about Condell, but im guessing he was plan B after Miller took the Argos head coaching job. No idea why you would bring Hogan back in any capacity. Youve gotta figure there’s some animosity/bad vibe’s there with a few players. Pretty stupid decision.

This is like the Giants & Jets moving from downtown New York to the Meadowlands, NJ about 20 or so miles away. It's in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Kansas City Kansas & Kansas City , MO may be two separate identities in 2 separate States so it's probably not a big deal to Chiefs fans in that way. KC is all one big city. Back in the day, before Winnipeg & the surrounding cities amalgamated in 1971, it would bave been like the Bombers having Winnipeg Stadium in St. James but not actually in Winnipeg. It was no big deal. They weren't the St James Blue Bombers. The sad part is the NFL losing an iconic football stadium like Arrowhead.

One thing the CFL doesn't do is bring in more qualified Canadian coaches from U Sports. They'd rather promote an inexperienced player than a coach who may have also been a former CFL player but found success in coaching at that level that is ready to make the jump.

WTF?! (The Chiefs have announced they’ve entered into an agreement with the State of Kansas to host Chiefs football beginning with the 2031 NFL season. The franchise is designing and building a domed stadium and Arrowhead Stadium will no longer be the home of the Chiefs following the 2030 season.)
