  1. Past hour
  2. I’d agree that Walters should probably be taking more heat than O’Shea. I think part of it is O’Shea is actually doing daily interviews and Walters has said nothing since free agency. Osh is In the spotlight. Kyle be very very very quiet.
  3. so you just hand wave away the fact that the coach isn't using the pieces he has to the best of his ability... to what end? when you start trouble shooting things you don't ignore problems to look for bigger ones. You start by addressing the obvious ones and seeing what that resolves. first problem: put the best roster on the field and see where you are actually at and then you can properly address the other issues. your way is just back asswards.
  4. Strev doesn’t inspire. Hamiltons O gonna eat us raw. I think Houston has a good game tho and lawler is quiet but bridges and the others will dominate
  5. Over/under 2 weeks before someone steals the antennas?
  6. Important factor with CFL "cap" is that unless money paid in bonuses or guaranteed it hasn't been counted yet. More than could have afforded Lawler. They made a decision to move on. And we have no receivers that suit our starting quarterback's style.
  7. Just not going to buy this conspiracy theory being floated. If it does turn out to be true then I will absolutely demand better. Not gonna buy this I heard it from a source that cannot be named though. I am absolutely disappointed in Bombers management and coaching for the fiasco that is happening in a Grey Cup hosting season. Just garbage that better cost jobs. Just not going to engage in piling on with rumors and innuendo. There are enough legit things to criticize without throwing here say into the mix. Apologist nope. Just think that we are not looking at the big picture here and that is the fact our player retention/attraction has been dismal, and our recruitment very average to below average. Coaching has compounded these problems, but overall roster talent is our biggest issue.
  8. Schoen was not on the books - he was a pending FA that we extended in February.
  9. GCn20 for President of the Bomber Apologists Club
  10. We could have easily afforded him in a bunch of different ways. Last year we had both Schoen and Lawler at 500+ and we made it work with a far better team than we have now. Mitchell is for all intents and purposes a bust and a complete waste of money. J.Jones appears to be the same.
  11. so it looks like Tuesday will be the day that IHOPBees will open it's doors
  12. I don't think the Bombers were hoping to replace Lawler with TWO receivers. Schoen was already on the books, hope he is 2022 Schoen and that replaces Kenny (whoops) Sign Mitchell, hope he gives you 2023 Schoen like production (whoops) Sign a position of need... Needed to replace Bighill so come on down Jonathon Jones (whoops) Mitchell and Jones salary slips nicely into the hole created by Lawler's departure... But neither of them could crack the roster for... Reasons
  13. For real though, we’re going to get **** pumped
  14. We'll leave it at this
  15. I'm arguing about the impact roster usage has in our over all ability to win. You guys seem to think it makes a big impact and I don't think it would. I don't think that replacing Thomas for Woods or dressing another DL for Ayers would make a lick of difference. It is head scratching for sure, our roster usage, until I look at how poor our depth is. My biggest beef with the last 3 years on this forum is how myopic it has become. We have spent 20000 posts talking about roster slots 51 thru 53 and about 100 posts talking about the massive talent drain that's been going on. The lack of talent retention is 95% of what our biggest problem is right now and all you guys want to key in on is how we are not putting in scrubs to replace scrubs. Lets talk about how a Joey Corcoran makes our team and plays actual games because our receiving corps is hot garbage, let's talk about how our OL went from dominant to the worst in the CFL. let's talk about Chris Streveler now being our starting QB and the guy is not a CFL calibre starter. These are the reasons we will not win going forward. MOS has flaws but he has clearly demonstrated an ability to win if you give him players. Walters has not done that.
  16. I don't see the D giving up any more points than they did against the Riders. The game will come down offensive production and perhaps which team can get a score or two from defense or special teams.
  17. So 300k for Kenny, Schoen was 175 plus bonuses which I believe were around 200k+Mitchell's money would cover Kenny and a guy on a rookie deal like Wheatfall. So again, we could have afforded him.
  18. so then what the **** are you arguing about all the damn time?
  19. I've never stated otherwise. I have always said that MOS's roster use is not up to snuff and the fact we don't use the naturalized import is a head scratcher. Where we differ is how much of a difference it would make. I don't believe for one second we have the overall talent to do any better than what we've done so far. With Collaros out I don't expect to win more than a couple more games this year.
  20. He’ll definitely eat sacks of something.
  21. Just so we are clear here.... you're saying they're not playing the strongest lineup they can?
  22. I want to know what you smoked and where it is available
  23. Yup the replacements haven't worked out at all. Lawler had never played consistently enough to warrant his contract until this year. Remains to be seen if he can keep it up the rest of the year. You have to add in another receivers salary to make that math work unless Lawler going to play two spots at once. Lawler is getting over $300. His bonuses are all for just showing up. Hard money: $277,200 Maximum value: $303,000 The six-foot-three, 197-pound target got a $125,000 signing bonus to head to Steeltown where he became the CFL’s highest-paid non-quarterback for the second time in his career. The 30-year-old will also earn $110,000 in base salary, $25,000 in marketing money, $14,700 in housing money, and a $2,500 travel allowance. As for playtime incentives, Lawler can receive a $10,000 bonus the first time he makes the active roster, $3,800 if he’s active for at least 15 games, and $500 each time he plays more than 51 percent of Hamilton’s offensive snaps in a game. https://3downnation.com/2025/04/15/cfls-highest-paid-receivers-for-2025/
  24. Lawler is getting 275 in Hamilton. Schoen was 175 plus incentives. Mitchell was 163. You could have paid Kenny 275 and had 88 k at least left over. All it costs you is Schoen and Mitchell. Who isn't taking that trade off?
  25. Today
  26. sometimes... other times we had the exact same problems we've had this year. Yeah he had games like the west final, but that wasn't all the the time. guy isn't as consistent as he was several seasons ago. not paying him huge money wasn't the mistake. the mistake is in what replaced him.
