  9. Whether or not he is a capable of being a CFL QB or not is not the only factor. If he won't sign with us we can either hold his rights and make an example out of him or be forced to move him for pennies on the dollar. Either way some bad draft preparation and due diligence by the GM who took two years off.
  10. I'm not saying he's going to be anything but the handwringing over him trying to make it down south is nuts. It hasn't been 2 years yet because he was drafted less than a year ago. If he sits out a whole year again then ya he's wasted 2 years.
  11. Wbb is not wrong on his asset value diminishing if he's not with us this year. It's not about ability orpotential, it's about other teams knowing we are having a hard time/inability to get him under contract. We would not be trading from a position of strength
  12. and has proven nothing other than success at the CIS level....no offense to the cis and canadian athletes but that' a big whuppty do...especially for a QB....Just look at Ford recently...and he has a way better game with his legs that Elgersma and he was putrid. He's 24 sure...but has wasted a good 2 yrs so far in his development curve up here where he could actually amount to something....so he is just further delaying his development and future earning potential.....He is never....ever gonna get a spot in the NFL other than a PR spot and thats a stretch...and if his mindset and attitude is one where that is cool with him, and has no desire other than that...get the hell ouuta here then and move his ass for picks, or an asset. I have no desire for a Canadian QB whatsover anyway, and why would you want a inferior pivot....and no ability to back him up with one??... A Nathan Rourke is a unicorn and is a Canadian by birth only....he was developed and trained and learned his craft in the U.S for the yrs that matter .....Elgersma hasnt...he excelled against a buttload of players who once their senior yr ended will never ever strap on a helmet again...

  17. If he doesn't get another NFL camp invite, he should be here for camp. He got a lot of workouts and no offers. It's hard to say if that's a good thing for camp, but it sure seems like a bad thing for him since he doesn't have one currently. If he doesn't have a plan to be here for camp and doesn't have an NFL camp invite, I'd be shopping his rights hard. If he gets another NFL offer, I'd be shopping his rights soft and be looking to flip him as soon as he was willing to come up mid-season. Mid-season QB drought is real. Having a guy like him is an asset to a desperate team. I'm not losing my mind over his lingering down south. The amount of time he's spent out of football and off the field, the time it's been since he played a regular-season game, all of this reduces his value to me. You expect a Canadian QB who played CIS ball to be up here fairly quickly if you draft him. Choosing to sit out for workouts, a UFL non-roster spot, and NFL combine cup holder raises red flags about his intangibles. And he needs to be a high-intangible guy to succeed. He's a depreciating asset hiding behind some smoke and mirrors. The whole thing hasn't come apart, but it isn't far from happening. It is far more concerning to me that we gambled a 2nd on this guy and didn't seem to have a hot clue about this.

  20. From everything I've read, the talent in this draft is very deep, but almost TOO deep in so much as the GMs have their work cut out for them trying to figure out who will actually ever play in Canada... Sounds like a lot of guys will end up down south for at least some time.
  21. Training camp comes and he is still not here, then i write him off, till then who cares? He is doing this on his own dime.
  22. The visa ain't coming .....and neither Is Elgersma, at least here, up till this point in time....The kid is floating in limbo that could last for a long time...Hardly a way to take care of your future
  23. Hopefully we draft guys who project as starters or at worse rotational players and stop picking guys solely for their st prowess.
  24. and doing it all for free lol
  25. yep. I wonder if the team knows that. He's getting some thing now atleast for development. Not just sitting on a couch waiting for a call and doing the odd work out.

  27. Yep, this drought has been worse than the post season one. One of the few things you can count on in the cfl is draft is teams rushing to pick OL. Once the first one goes, we will see a run. And we will see teams reach to get them. Top end of this ol draft is pretty strong.
  28. combo of all 3 me thinks...but he has gotten some bad guidance since the 2025 CFL/NFL season ended...Dude in all reality has had no real significant play time since his last University season...and his one NFL camp and the position on depth chart he was at...got no real developing there either...and his couple workouts after that again amount to nothing...Likely was about 20 mins of showing of/how he can make the common throws in the NFL game and what kind of ball he threw...He could have got more useful work playing flag football in a beer league up here
  29. I think we all agree these mocks are usually terribly inaccurate... but I'll take this and even Hodge's mocks.... because, at the very least, it does provide some insight into the prospects at this years' draft... also, agree that any content is good content at this time of year...
  30. The visa ain’t coming.
  31. At this point he’s either delusional or getting the worst career advice possible. I’m guessing UFL also don’t make enough $$$ for him to get his visa otherwise it be done by now. Even god is like dude go home to Canada.
  32. sauteing and marinating nicely eh?....doofus
  33. Yup. No doubt Chevy prob would win in a cup with a team in the south. There are tons of restrictions. Thing is tho when guys do get here they want to stay and the guys who don’t? Doesn’t really work out for them with their new team either so you gotta find a way to get them here cuz for the most part they stay when they do. Seems like we popular with Guys who Like the fishing and hunting and outdoors stuff. Surely there’s more in the league. Restrictions are real for Winnipeg and all of Canada and even buffalo as parayko refused to waive to go there and they are finally good. Be much better league if they didn’t exist. Only sport who has them. NHL is weird tho cuz nobody wanted to go to Florida when they sucked. Phoenix is nice. They sucked also. Just yup. I dunno. Weird league at times.
