  3. They want the extra draft pick so they can squander it on another jobber.
  4. There are 21 days left this year https://people.com/sophie-kinsella-dead-confessions-of-a-shopaholic-author-8672384?utm_campaign=peoplemagazine&utm_content=manual&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&fbclid=IwdGRjcAOmVohleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZAwzNTA2ODU1MzE3MjgAAR6bG9Mnp4BHbfQmtQz0VnTldbiRvA2jnL1Qs9uJq6qqjlvBaL-k8NNH8O0B-w_aem_QQtRRM8eezjdmO8tucvZ9A
  5. That's been the complaint about Osh for years. He trots out extra Canadians at positions where we have better American players. It goes on every year & then he scratches his head wondering why it didn't work in big games that we needed to win. he has never maximized our roater properly. We really don't know how good we can be.
  6. Is it just me or does it seem counterintuitive to pay up for the "ratio breakers" with the way O'Shea uses his roster? Don't get me wrong, I know the CFL is all about how good your Canadian talent is, but part of me thinks there's no point paying 250k+ for a star Canadian RB/DB/WR/whatever because we aren't maximizing our roster with the ratio to play the most American talent anyways. With the way MOS just plays 8-9+ marginal Canadian starters and rotates in 3-4 more, we'd almost be better off with 10-12 good but not great Canadians and save our money overpaying for the Canadian starter at a non-traditional position. I wish we would utilize the fact that we have the luxury of a Canadian RB by using the extra American on the DL or OL, but instead most games we just trot out 7+ more Canadians at the regular spots too...
  7. That's the 2018-2022 Walters. This version isn't even a shadow of his former self. He has chosen not to spend $$$. I don't know why as he has the resources to do so if he wants to. We'll see how he does this coming February.
  8. And the losses keep piling up.
  9. Walter’s who brought us two extremely strong draft classes back to back, a couple great canadian talent trades, and a bumper crop of rookies like vaval, allen, woodbey, and the rookie ends who dominated in their one game. The same who already has us with the next group of high end imp ol in rando, who would’ve been an acclaimed all star on any other play off team maybe gotten nfl looks, and vanterpool who barely played but was our best ol when he did. The huge majority of the problem lays at the feet of mos. Walters hasn’t been perfect by any means, but we’ve seen him have the best free agent periods in the league while here when he has money to spend. He’s handed out some over pays for sure. And we’ve lost guys. But the team from top to bottom was in a maintain stage. If we are really in a re tool phase and it sure looks like we are, I wouldn’t pick any other gm in the league to do the job over him.
  10. The thing is, we can but will we?? I have zero faith in walterts actually doing so. He has a grid for players. RBs (other than Brady) are worth so much. Receivers, linebackers, etc. He won't budge bringing in other team's free agents or keeping ours.
  11. The only way this makes sense is if the cap is going way up and/or there's a bunch of promo money being used. Make a 150k donation to Northern Dog Rescue.......
  12. Schiefs Is playing on a different level. It will be a travesty if he does not make the Olympic team.
  13. Brady tried to reset the market for RB's last year and it only worked out for him. It did not affect the other salaries. The top RB in the league last year (Mills) made a whopping $123,450 last year - half of what Brady did. Butler (3rd overall for RB's) made slightly less at $120k. You absolutely can replace his production for a much lower price. The hit for the Bombers would be off the field - everyone loves Brady (myself included) and it would suck to see him leave.
  14. It probably is. But it'll set the market for running backs like Diedrick Mills. & James Butler as well. We lose Brady what's the proability we replace him with a running back that's even close to what Oliveira does for us??? That's the problem. Replacing him. Not paying him. Again, paying him isn't the problem. It's replacing him.
  15. He was already the highest paid RB by a wide margin (240k vs 160kish for Ouellette) so it's not like we were being cheapskates with him. Bumping him up another 60k is crazy.
  16. I'm a huge fan of Brady but 300,000 per year seems like too much at first glance.
  17. no shut out for you Dallas
  18. If that's the market, so be it. I believe even our tone deaf, can't read the room, sits on his ass in free agency of a GM in Kyle Walters knows he has to sign Brady. To make up for it get rid of some deadwood on the roster. Especially one entitled vet who thinks he has a job for life, in particular. We're all going.... WTH??? Almost every position costs more, now. QB, receiver OL... About the only position you can still sign cheap vets is defensive back. . That'll probably be changing as well.
  19. Woof to 300k per year on a RB.... Jesus.
  20. this team has 99 problems and the coach ain't one
  21. That penalty was total bullshit. Then when we’re about to kill it off, Samberg has his stick held…. No call…. In our net. We’re not a good team right now, but we’re also not getting anything breaks.
  22. You know I was ready to post that the first period aside from that cluster. F*** first a minute was pretty good and the Jets dominated play just not on the score sheet. Then a b******* penalty at the end of the first leads to a power play goal for Dallas at the beginning of the 2nd. Unfortunately, I think this is the team we're stuck with all year. We'll be lucky to even be an 8th seed. And as I type this, there's the third goal against.
  23. Unless it's a contract heavily loaded with marketing money so it doesn't affect the cap - hard pass for me at that price point.
  24. Thr off-season changes looked hopeful on paper, apart from Fly leaving for a massive pay raise, but it hasn't turned out that way at all. I think Nyquist is in tonight. No, he is not.
  25. Take this for whats its worth, a friend of mine knows a person very close to Oliveira and he was told today that the Bombers are close to signing Brady to a 3 year 900K contract. Story is if the Bombers wont/dont, then the Argos will.
