It’ll be interesting to see how VA does against us as a Stamp, not saying Calgary is a contender yet.

On the one hand, if 3 import OL offer the best protection I am for it but on the other hand, man does it limit our D. Later in the year with Mackonzo and Kelly back and Shay+Smith more able to participate, sure.

Yeah I think they solved VA last year basically taking a similar approach to how they played Rourke...and really most QB's. Less blitzing, better disguised blitzes, more drop 8-9 out and variable on who is where in our zone coverages so QB can't make any assumptions pre-snap without risking a turnover.

nice to see Jackson here...thats huge not wanting to see 3 imports on Oline tho....will effect our defence big time
-
Practice notes from DT via Twitter. Vanterpool at LG Kramdi is practicing Jarious Jackson has arrived.
-
I know we beat him a few times recently, but going back to his Montreal days, VA gave our team more trouble than Rourke has. Other than the fact he’s Canadian, I still think the Lions faired much better with a healthy Adam’s than a healthy Rourke. Glad he’s out of BC.
-
tis true...actually a more physical one....I still say we should just start him as the "5th" receiver and incorporate him in all sorts of ways...Imagine sets with Him...BO and Logan all in the backfield?....Demski as well running in motion....sucking away who the defender for him is?....Especially if/when Pokey comes back...A unit of him Schoen, Demski and Clercius along with Cooley and Logan as the 5th guy...how could you not be succesful with that and BO as your RB??
-
Yeah he had some kind of foot injury.
-
the runs thy had him do were garbage and pointless....and soooo telegraphed.....no QB would have had success with that...so glad Buck is gone as I bet we see all kinds of different tuns....not just with Strev
-
Short for pork chop.
-
Wasn't Rourke just coming off of a serious injury before that game? I think there was speculation he wouldn't play and Dane Evans would get the start. He couldn't do that last season, those days are over, he either sinks or swims with his vaunted arm.

Dalton.........

Strev... If we're still allowing sneaks.

And cue the quotes from the crappy Zelda games (the ones by Animation magic) https://deadline.com/2025/06/legend-of-zelda-movie-wes-ball-1235596216/

I figured that's who you meant. Just poking fun. It's Greg Bell.

Not so much spy specifically but lots of dropping out 9 and being very unpredictable in coverage in terms of having different guys drop into deep thirds, different guys sit in flat/curl zones. Heavy match zone so really hard for receivers to get open, really tight windows.

Watched the ‘22 Western final a while ago. Take aways: BB didn’t look to be spying Rourke. He only rushed a few times on broken plays, but spent most of his time in the pocket. Rasheed Bailey was a premier blocker. Alden Darby could be very good. Desmond Lawrence could be very opportunistic, but ultimately, unreliable in coverage ZC’s decision making could be very questionable. Legghio missed 2 extra points ( 1 returned for 2). Rourke cannot handle our crowd. At least 3 time count violations, plus the final hurry up was a cluster for BC. BO ripped out their heart in the second half.

I have started drinking NA beers during the week, and man have they come a long way. If you like a Hazy IPA, the Athletic one is as close to a real beer as I have found. For mainstream stuff, the Heineken, Peroni and Guinness are both really close facsimiles (the former two being pretty crushable lawn mowing beers). Keep meaning to head down to Sobr Market to check out some of the other craft options.
