  2. Complacency started with coaching...and seaped into the players as a result Part our problem is designating where/who we were using with ratio...and that was that...set in stone...and due to that let probably better...and obviously younger talent go...stayed with status quo...in some instances sub par players...or old and injury prone and didnt develop anyone We also for whatever lame reason insist on extra Canadians where they are not adequate..no offense to Canadians but there only so many who are legit starter quality...we have prob 3..4 on roster who are not...and then we need to roster backup to them as Canadian who are even worse...bad recipe...that's what u gonna also get with a Canadian HC who has this Canadian Bias and seems to be wanting to prove some kind of point...which has failed We need to set ratio as per how camp dictates and the best guys take spots...not pre determine it before a single rep in camp takes place...and that goes with our vets too That's where we gotta start...and in a semi rebuild/gutting...history in pro football has shown 80% of time you start with Coach...and that's what we need to do...12 yrs is eons as a HC in same spot...especially a stubborn and at times arrogant one who thinks his way...is the way and won't deviate Wj is a good piece...key word piece and is only as good as players around him...and for most part they not good...or the better ones can't get on roster...he needs to be the augment rotation guy now to continually spell of 2 young studs All the good dominant teams focus on pretty much mostly import dlines...save for the random Cdn stud...we have no real cdn stud...dress 2 additional duds...and play them ad nauseum for no effect...basically nullify our ends...then play a stupid scheme teams have figured out... There's a start Also...maybe we need to facilitate a trade with an asset or 2...or a guy we all love to infuse some talent in a key position or 2 That or don't treat FA like we did this yr..
  3. We are good enough along the lines....full stop, if we had the lines we had in 2019, we are probably easy in first. We have let guys across both lines go for bigger paydays, and haven't drafted strong at either position for a few years.....thus we are now weak across the lines Fix the lines and we get back to winning....look at The Sask and Cal D-lines as an example, they both take over games and no coincidence they are #1 and #2 in the league....
  4. But what is your evidence that the reason we are losing is because of complacency versus the other team having better personnel and coaching? or maybe we’re just misunderstanding each other… Because I agree that coach O’Shea has a “just a few things to correct and we’ll get them next time“ attitude. And so I agree that making roster changes would be helpful. I just think that this regime has made it clear that it’s not willing to do that and also that in pro sports the issue is more likely about personnel than it is about intensity or complacency.
  5. I know it’s saving himself from something else.
  6. People try to look at it binary, injured or not injured. These injuries often never get close to 100%. Everyone is playing with something, everyone has vulnerabilities related to previous injuries. Cleared to play doesn't mean anything close to back where a player was pre injury. And at a certain point sitting out another month doesn't guarantee that you're any less vulnerable....that's when they are cleared to play. There's guys in every organization that get destroyed by lower body injuries, shoulders etc. Mailk Henry went from a torn achilles to ruptured patella right when he came back. Where's Kian Schaffer-Baker? Comes back for a couple games and gets hurt again. MBT was playing with no elbow for 4 weeks because Montreal has no other QB. Davis Alexander is probably going to have to come back again before he's recovered from a soft tissue injury. It's a very hard sport and in any sport athletes get into a cycle of injury once they start having serious ligament and tendon injuries at joints. Do you just tell every person who tears their ACL to retire?
  7. The biggest problem this team has is complacency so yeah I'd rather see a team losing giving it their all than a team losing because "well we'll get em next time"
  8. I tend to agree with your comments. It would appear at least IMHO that Zach has lost some arm strength and is forcing plays. It does not help though that he is playing with the worse OL in front of him. I really can not say which O lineman I would keep next year. IMHO we are weak from tackle to tackle.
  9. Jake Thomas is not injured.
  10. CLEAN HOUSE....it's a short ride to the bottom and that's where we are headed....All of, or most of the warts this club has, was clearly evident in that stinker....I have to give credit to the guys who are still trying to keep this club credible and that's just a few....Cripes even Sergio crapped the bed and that's the clue that some players are starting to see the writing on the wall...I expect that will or most likely be the last full house we'll see in awhile .....most likely have one in the Cup game....you know the game we aren't going to be in..I think Osh better be preparing for his exit along with the gm
  11. Hmm… two issues I see with this… Number one, what evidence is there that the veterans will “start losing jobs”? The best predictor of future behaviour is past behavior. Secondly, not sure how much intensity is the issue or ultimately matters if the other team is just flat out better than you. That’s what Milt implied pregame. I mean, to overstate the situation to make my point, it doesn’t matter how intense I play against Jannik Sinner… I’m not taking a point. 😁 The riders are just better than the bombers. The stamps are just better than the bombers. And Edmonton and BC are comparable to the bombers. It’s hard to accept after the run we had, but we just ain’t that good.
  12. Today
  13. cough cough Jake Thomas cough cough
  14. The 'It's on the player' narrative is wrong. It's on the medical staff. Player's want to play no matter what.
  15. Man...rough week.
  16. The reason I pick him is because he's a supposed leader, and you don't send as much of a message just benching anyone. Like Thomas just sucks, but he gives it his all. You sit down a star for inconsistent effort it forces everyone to look in the mirror.
  17. That's a bit dramatic... for all the stupid things going on both those games were still there for the taking without said stupid things. Start with some roster changes to get the best out of the group you have and go from there.
  18. Exactly. Hitting ZC anywhere between the knees and shoulders wouldn’t have been a problem.
  19. One of the changes that ought to be made is to sack the head coach and offensive coordinator. The season is lost, we've been soundly beaten by our arch-rivals twice in a row, and the message has to be sent that incompetence will not be tolerated. O'Shea, Hogan and even Walters have to know that they are almost certainly to be fired in a couple of months and can't be enjoying life. The sooner the overhaul begins the better.
  20. Based on his post, this is one of those times where not saying anything was probably the best course of action for him. CJ Reavis shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  21. If you do not know how to tackle properly, you shouldn't be playing pro ball.
  22. 3DownNation is hit or miss IMO in some of their coverage but this made me chuckle https://3downnation.com/2025/09/06/winnipeg-blue-bombers-lose-banjo-bowl-zach-collaros-against-roughriders-12-other-thoughts/
  23. https://www.bluebombers.com/ticket-swap/ I've never utilized it but AFAIK you call up the office and say you want to exchange your tickets to ones in the last two games and they make it happen, and your tickets go back into general sale. The frustrating thing with Willie is that he has shown flashes the past... 8 months. The Grey Cup he was lights out. In Week 9 he earned the highest PFF rank they've ever given out. And then who do you replace him with? At least some of the other underperforming veterans you have someone who can slide in or they are actually blocking someone better... which is probably a huge part of the problem.
  24. Is Willie just saving himself for the playoffs or simply past his prime. Even then he took plays off.
  25. A view of the game from the 55 yard line, west side upper deck. First Banjo Bowl for me in about three years, for my wife, first one ever. I thought that the atmosphere was a little lacking for a game of this magnitude. At other games this year the crowd seemed more boisterous. In spite of the loss, we had a good time. I only swore once at the ineptitude of the Bombers (might have had to do with my company yesterday). But, in spite of enjoying ourselves, it was a frustrating game to watch. Some of many thoughts on the game: Although coming out on the short end of the score, the game sheet suggested that it was an evenly played game with one or two notable exceptions. We out-possessioned them (31-29 minutes) and the rushing and passing stats were similar. The exceptions….4 Bomber turnovers to one for them and we had had no, zero, zilch red zone opportunities (Our lone TD came from outside the area.) The game was winnable by the Bombers but….. The usually reliable Castillo misses two FGs. The missed one in the third quarter was into the wind. He kicked it low but it was a bit wide. Stuff happens. The whiff in the 4th was with the wind but he still kicked a line drive ball. It was odd. Perhaps, it was just a mis-hit. Although the wind was quite stiff from the north, I wonder how it impacts the game given that the field is below grade and the stands form a bit of a bowl around the field? We had three Americans starting on the O-line yesterday but were they able to run and pass block any better? Who is in charge of the blocking schemes for the O? Is it a line coach who then works with the OC in an attempt to have it all mesh? And, who calls the blocking assignments (adjustments?) at the line? Is it the centre? I won’t comment on the other linemen but Kolankowski is lacking in so many areas. Someone else coined this nickname K-olé-kowski. It fits! I didn’t like the play calling on our last drive in the 2nd quarter, the one that resulted in a FG for the Riders. With 54 seconds to go, we started at our 26. Plenty of time to move it into the scoring zone, I thought. Oliveira into the line two times. Hmm, although a first down resulted, that’s going to use up the clock. An IC followed by and ill-advised long ball INT by Collaros and disappointment again. I saw at least one other Bomber receiver open underneath on that one. It seems that Zach focusses in on his first look a little too much. A problem all year? Did OC Hogan have any competition for the position? Seriously, was anyone else interviewed? I don’t think that Vaval can handle both current duties. He seems to have potential for both, so pick one. As a DB, he was certainly picked on yesterday. I’m also not a fan of Younger’s play calling. A couple of times I saw only one guy at the line. Seriously, one guy on the line and 11 back! No pressure that results in too many options for the opposing QB. I think that if Collaros is out long term and, that is a distinct possibility, IMO, we won’t make the playoffs this year. Heck, I think that if he’s back at the controls next week, the Bombers will be hard pressed to make it. And, this when the Grey Cup is being held in town? What were the tall foreheads thinking in the past offseason? This is the CFL so, I’ll be there to the bitter end. Go Bombers Go!
  26. I would like to see him as well but this is where we defer to the coaches who see him in practice and they obviously feel Strev gives them the best chance as backup even if it does not 'pass' the smell test.
  27. Not like it's a new thing that the area you can actually hit a qb in is pretty small.
