  2. Elgersma not impressing if they bring in a new QB already. Honestly. If he comes up here he’s prob last on the depth chart also. Zach UFL mvp Thorne and Wilson all would be ahead of him in terms or development in reality. I guess in reality a Canadian trained QBs expectations should be non existent since really when’s the last time a truly Canadian trained QB consistently started and won games. Rourke was ncaa. Ford? Replaced by the Faj. Is it Russ Jackson? That’s long long long time ago. Only advantage might be field size but they changing that. Changed that so no real advantage .
  3. JJ wasn't in our plans obviously. I don't think his stay here went as envisioned by either side.
  4. Wahlin a ppg player in ncaa from Minnesota. He’s 24 tho kinda like Tanev when we signed him. There’s some skill there. Could be a solid bottom 6 winger like Tanev was at first.

  7. He has never played 3 down ball either. Playbooks in the CIS and CFL are light years different. The only advantage he has is knowing the size of the field, and being used to the extra attacker. Other than that he will have the same adjustment to a CFL offence as any of the QBs coming from NCAA. His injury was your typical career ender. I thought if anyone could rehab and tough through it was him but the human body has it's limitations I guess. Too bad, great guy.
  8. Maybe...he's only played 3 down ball. Not beating out Americans who have more experience than him at the game they are playing won't change how I think of him as a potential CFLer.
  9. Looks like Streveler is calling it a career. Posted a video on TT. Getting injured is not the way the players should go out, but that's the reality of a contact sport. Much respect for everything he's done for the community and the team.

  11. You really like to argue. Sure, some situations are better for the backup QB, but most situations require QB1 getting hurt for QB2 to get any significant reps. If you don’t agree, that’s fine.
  12. Wonder why JJ wasn't promoted this year?
  13. Nobody is excusing ZCs brain cramps, but at the same time as a QB you get paid to throw the ball. When you have no help whatsoever the QB can either take the sack or start winging it downfield on a hope and a prayer. ZC chose the latter and it is never the right choice. However, it is a decision born out of lack of talent around him. If he sees an appropriate amount of protection, and much improved receiver play we likely don't see these poor decisions. If we still do then there is a problem. Trying to play a pop warner level offensive scheme can make a lot of QB decisions look real bad. Defences around the league were saying they knew the play just from the formation, when the defence knows the play before the ball is snapped your QB is going to throw a ton of interceptions. On running downs it doesn't matter as much because that is all about execution but in the passing game it's going to be a disaster no matter the execution. When we criticize ZC throwing into triple coverage one has to ask how the defence is able to get 3 guys on the receiver. We see the point and time the ball arrives at the receiver and it looks like triple coverage when in fact the defence is holding their coverage but are ready to what they have pre-snap recognized as the first and 2nd reads for the QB. When a defence knows where the ball is going everything looks like the QB is throwing into coverage but that is not necessarily what he's seeing at the time he delivers.
  14. At any rate if they are signing QBs it's because they are not happy with their depth so even if Elgersma survives the cut, he is likely pushed down the depth chart. This is something I find interesting because both Hiers and Smith (Elgersma's QB competition) are true ham and eggers that are below CFL quality. Hiers got a quick looksie at the end of 2024 by the RIders but never made it to 2025 camp and Smith has not played ball of any significance since a pretty underwhelming college career. If Elgersma has trouble beating these guys out, it should really temper our expectations for him as a CFL future starter.
  15. The Stallions just signed another QB so that means that one of Hiers and Elgersma will be the odd man out. Hiers just spent the better part of two years on the Riders practice squad but he has 4-down experience
  16. Do you think that Cody Fajardo behind Tre Ford was an equal situation to Maier behind Harris last year in terms of probability of seeing the field? Fact is that some situations are much better for a number 2 than others. That's just straight up and undeniable fact. There was a very high probability that Fajardo was going to take over for Ford last year. There was almost zero chance for some other backups around the league to see significant playing time except thru injury. Elgersma as an unproven pro QB has almost zero shot at playing time as Corral is a very experienced and successful QB in that league.

  18. Considering they sold out the entire season and hosted the Grey Cup, I'm guessing quite a bit. Interesting to see the total.

  20. You're in the minority. Most fans hated her. And the gay Klingon.
  21. I disagree, Hogan was brutal. He was in way over his head. Why JJ wasn't the OC is beyond me. Typical Osh decision.

  23. Worst thing that can happen is we finish just outside the playoffs from a draft point of view and lessening the urgency to do a major retool for next year. We’ve entered that no mans land as in too late to tank and the odds are against us in slipping into the playoffs.
  24. Yup. Let’s go ZC. Absolutely no excuses this year.
  25. A playoff berth :) Jets seem to play a lot better at home... I wish our next 10 games were all at home. This team continues to give false hope though.
  26. a win against Vegas what could be better than this
  27. Collaros showed problems with Buck and Buck is still a good OC. Yeah Hogan sucked but Zach needs to get his performance up regardless.
