I dont care where he goes.  Save the $10 million.  Pay for a one way plane ticket to wherever he wants to go.  There are means to revoke citizenship and terrorism is one of the grounds to do it.  In fact, seems like an open & shut case.

Incorrect. Revocation of citizenship on a conviction of terrorism applies only to naturalized citizens, not citizens by birthright. Khadr is the latter.

He was born here. Canada is his country. It's unfortunate because he's a turd, but it is what it is.

Great, throw him in jail then.  Treason sounds like a great starting point.  He joined a terrorist organization.  Im not a lawyer.  Im sure we have laws that disallow Canadians joining terrorist organizations and fighting on their behalf.

But now, we have a left wing extremism loving government that thinks he's a victim because America got him.  I wonder who nursed him back to health.  I bet it wasnt the Taliban.  Sure looks like he's been mistreated.

It was a Supreme Court decision made years before, though. Nearly a decade ago, actually.

Obviously not. Rather, the part where it was determined his Charter Rights were violated and gov't officials at the time crapped the bed in how they handled him. Hence the public apology and payment nearly a decade later.

A similar end result to what happened with Maher Arar, specifically due to gov't officials crapping the bed in his handling.

This is nonsense, you either respect our legal system or you don't, you can't apply the rules randomly to suit your prejudices and apply random justice.  You do know that he brought suit for $20M against the CDN. govt. and it was before the courts?  You do know that the Supreme court has already ruled on the legality of his imprisonment and confession?  Trudeau has nothing to do with the decision the court renders, he is simply following best legal advice and offering a payout and an apology to put an end to it and cut their eventual losses.  Khadr spent 10 years imprisoned in Guantanamo which is basically a Gulag created by the Bush administration exempt from US law.  The only reason Harper brought him back at all is because Obama basically forced him to, which just exasperated the situation by confirming the CDN. govt.'s true intent was to ignore the constitutional rights of a citizen.

Yup and so called "rule of law". Because killing people is legal.  Any Canadian who fights on behalf of a terror organization is good to go?  No problem? 

The government did not have to pay him. They chose to pay him. They chose to apologize on behalf of all of us.

None of that is really evidence of anything.  Her position that people who disagree are ugly is ridiculous. 

If people want to respect the law then why do they ignore the judge who said there was no evidence he was torture in custody and accepted his plea deal?

oh yeah. Only facts you like are to be considered. 

Fact is he trained with a terror group. Fact is he made IED's to kill soldiers. Fact is he was involved in a fight where a US soldier was killed. It actually doesn't matter if he threw the grenade or not. 

But because there is a strong anti American feeling among many in Canada we now decide that an admitted killer terrorist was treated poorly in prison (poor him) so deserves a national apology and money?

No one here has advocated ignoring law. And only one side has advocated ignoring the vile actions of this terrorist. 

Canadas responsibility was to bring him back. Not apologize. Not pay. Not try to make him some sort of poster child for big bad America. 

America didn't make him a terrorist. America didn't make his choices for him.

Just heard that on CJOB about 20 mins ago. They said its dehydration and he's ok though, just got a little dizzy and it was precautionary.  TBH a guy that old should think about calling it a day with the hands on stuff. Love the cause and appreciate all that he's done though
