Jets Prospects

Kyle Connor has 48 point in 27 games an average of 1.7787 points per game .

Dylan Larkin had 47 points in 35 games for the same team last year for an average of 1.343 points per game .

Jack Eichel had 71 points in 40 games in his last year of college for  an average of 1.775 points per game .

I see Connor making the team in the fall and actually signing in March and getting a couple of weeks on the Jets roster at the end of the season.

I am hoping to see Connor on one wing with Wheeler or Ehlers or Armia on the other wing with Scheif or Matthews at center.

Going forward... Connor Scheif Wheeler Armia Ehlers and Matthews/Laine/Puljujärvi look like a pretty solid top 6 for a few years.

Lemieux, Roslovic, Petan, Copp, Lowry, Harkins, De Leo,  Lipon, and Spacek will be fighting for roster spots sooner or later.

We have Comrie and Helle and Phillips for depth in goal and look to be set for some time.

Our D, on the other hand, needs some help on the depth. Besides Morrissey, there isn't much coming up the pike on the left hand side and I fully expect the Jets to take some LHD at this draft or trade for one by this time next year. There is Sami Niku and not much else. The RHD right now is very good but not a great deal coming up the pike. Hopefully Kostalek makes the team in at least a 3rd pairing position and hopefully Glover and/or Poolman and/or Nogier turn out.

  • This situation didn't start this year and won't be resolved this year. The makeup of the jets had to be addressed for the long term when they arrived here from Atlanta. Does anybody not think the Jets

They can sign him.

Supposedly Chevy wanted to let him catch his breath before talking.

They are talking to Connor. He will likely sign but not sure if it's now or after the season.

Rumours were that Red was going to retire. Possibility that Kyle goes back for one more to win the championship.

I still expect him to sign but with Red coming back, it may make him think twice.

They gave it to someone who did 4 years of college is the way I saw it.

925k plus 92.5k signing bonus not counting other bonuses but he will get all that anyway.......he will be missing his last year's pay, not his first.

Mute point as he will be on the Jets' roster after TC this fall.

Eichel and Kariya won the Hobey as freshmen and Connor scored at a better pace than Eichel.

If they screwed Connor for political reasons that should make his decision easy.  Screw em.  Come be a big star in the NHL.

I would bet that he signs as soon as he can that doesn't conflict with a 2018 expansion draft.

I thought that award went to the Manliest Man in Michigan...

man first he gets screwed by USA Hockey when they don't select him for the World Juniors and now this horse crap garbage. He's going to fit right in in Winnipeg now as he's already arriving with a big "We always get screwed by the man" chip on his shoulder...:)

I don't get why he didn't win the award?  A massive difference in points should of been enough?

Politics in sports for sure. No doubt about it

Glad to see him sign.   No burning of the 1st year of his ELC.

Also delaying on when he would have to be protected for any possible expansion draft.

Will be exciting to watch him play next year.

That looks like a pretty small contract.  lol
