Grey Cup Ticket Sales

I took my weekly look at Grey Cup ticket sales and it appears there has been some significant movement in seats.  I would estimate there are only 3000 left.  Of course, not all the grayed out seats are sold, but I think it's safe to say that only a few hundred more of those will be made available over the coming months.

Provided they didn't have to give too many discounts or freebies, props to Miller and the Grey Cup marketing committee for this bump in seats sales.  There should be a legit sellout with the way things are progressing.

I don't have a lot of sympathy for the people flooding Kijiji who do not want to attend the Grey Cup without the Bombers in it.  There was a 99.9% chance in March that we'd be where we are today.

Half time show?

Remember the Western Hour from the 80s?  How about getting the host of that show for the halftime.

Joey must be in his 70's now... His fans are all hipsters as in hip replacements. I can relate... LOL!

Are you talking about Russ Gurr?

I'm not going because it will be freezing cold , tickets are over priced and no teams that I care will be playing.

Push the season back a month and lower the price and I would of gone.

The average winter temp this year Is rumored to be plus 3. It won't be cold. Wouldn't be surprised if there Is no snow. If plus 3 is cold to a resident of winnipeg I suggest you grow some balls

Instructions not clear. I have my balls pulled out of my pants.

Please advice

Thought he died.

BTO is my pick.

I froze my ass off watching a beer can flying towards the Rocket.

At plus 3/ the temp is OK, the price and the lack of giving a **** on the teams are bigger factors.

Zero interest in the cfl this season.

Bring back the 90's with Luba

1st Grey Cup - last Sunday - record cold - 51k+

2nd Grey Cup - next to last Sunday - record warm - 34k+ lowest since 75 and currently lowest in the last 40 years

3rd Grey Cup - next to last Sunday - above normal - 44k+

4th Grey Cup - last sunday - TBD - 38k+

The first Grey Cup scared off a large number of people and the fact the tickets were now $100+ killed the 2nd one.

Everytime I see the Grey Cup ticket prices I cry. Oh, I cry.

the bombers will make some cash at that level, which is good to see

Update on ticket sales:

Bombers have now sold 32,054 grey cup tickets, getting closer to a sellout.

That's less then what was previously estimated i believe.

I doubt it but we'll see. This is the Bombers we are talking about.

They won't make the money they thought that they would and that's going t hurt the bottom line. This team will be going hat in hand to the provincial government in the coming years if things don't change.

You wonder if having to reduce the seating capacity will impact the possibility of hosting future Cups?

Why is Wiecek tweeting still 4,000 tickets available?

Why is Wiecek tweeting still 4,000 tickets available?

Because that's what it is. This place will hold just over 36,000 on the 29th.

they had 35,156 for the rider game, which i think was a sell out or very close to it

so they are short , 3,100 tickets at about $ 200 each say about $600,000 k so they should make close to 3.5 mil, which will be still great, but not 5 mil

and if the y sell the balance , they will do well

What did they have to pay the CFL to get the game?

4.3 million

Lots of planning went into not only ticket sales to the game, but also the events during Grey Cup week, all which have exceeded budgeted expectations. The gala dinner alone will be the largest indoor banquet ever held in Winnipeg with over 200 tables sold.

So what has hurt the football club in ticket sales to the game so far, has been made up and then some with the huge response to the festival events.  I don't think there is any concern with the amount of revenue the football club will earn, which is a big win for this organization.
