Week 10 Aug 30 Sask@Ott. (Tor 15 Edm. 38)

CFL game notes…and bits and pieces...

- The Ticats have scored 292 points this season, the most in the CFL by far, and allowed 156 points for a whopping differential of 136 points.

- Hamilton leads the league with eight defensive touchdowns this season and 11 overall, leaving the Ticats within reach of two single-season all-time records:

1) Defensive touchdowns in a season, which the Ticats can break with four more touchdowns. They sit three behind the Lions' 11 defensive touchdowns in 1987.

And, 2) Non-offensive touchdowns, which combines defensive and special teams touchdowns. With a high-scoring defence combined with the talent of Brandon Banks, the Ticats have 12 non-offensive touchdowns through eight games. The record for that in a season is 15 by the very same Lions back in 1987, another record well within the Ticats' reach.

- Mike Daly, Zach Collaros and Terrell Sinkfield Jr. were named the Shaw CFL Top Performers of the Week for Week 9 of the CFL’s 2015 season. A Hamilton sweep.

- Ti-Cats have 30 takeaways for 118 points this year.

- Quarterback Zach Collaros leads the league in passing yards with 2,314 and arrives at the stadium ready to roll: the Ticats have outscored opponents 70-6 in the first quarter of their last five games, and held halftime leads of 31, 21 and 21 points the last three weeks. They also lead the league in touchdowns with 22 and points per game at 36.5.

- Not much happening with the Alouettes - oh wait, they have a new Coach after firing Tom Higgins. Jim Popp takes over..again. Oh, and A. Calvillo is now the QB Coach. Which begs the question..why'd it take so long?

- Montreal used seven different running backs last week to gain 251 yards on the ground,

As C Schultz says - "This is a tough first game for Jim Popp to begin his fourth stint as head coach of the Alouettes. Montreal has to survive the first quarter if they have any chance of winning this game. Hamilton has out-scored opponents a combined 63-3 in the first quarter of their last four games."

He thinks the Ti-Cats will prevail as do 96.7% of MBB posters who bothered to vote. The Montreal vote? Me.

Great game! My favorite part was where Saskatchewan lost.

nice O line there sask.

was that a CFL record for sacks?

Hopefully Sask. demonstrates this level of ineptitude next week.  I keep thinking the Bombers and Riders are twins, they basically have the same problems.

Maybe they would like to swap HCs

Watch Sunseri torch us two weeks in a row

I would bring chamblin in as our next dc

Instead of two dead & listless teams that don't care why not just have the 2 fanbases battle each other? We hate them & they hate us. Tell the players & coaches on both teams to stay home. Can we build a Bomber empire that will last forever? Will you be my hero?

Seriously?  He took over the Riders D directly from Hall and it's completely tanked.  It's about as close as you can get to a direct comparison between two coaches, and Chamblin clearly loses.  In his other season as a DC he ran the 6th ranked D out of 8 teams.  He'll be back coaching DB's for awhile, on either side of the border.

I don't know if this is true or not but on Riderfans some are saying that Brett Smith refused to go back in after he was pulled in the 2nd half. If so, that's unbelievable. And the Riders are now officially not a football team but a circus.

(Moan) the upcoming Bomber/Rider games ought to make lawn tractor racing attractive by comparison.

Which team is more effed? The Bombers or the Riders? Chamblin just screwed over Smith & dumped on him during his TSN interview.

Maybe we can petition TSN to have the next two futility bowls completely blacked out and show either poker or NASCAR

The Riders do suck. But a rookie refusing to enter a game? His mates would turn on him. That's unheard of and unbelievable. Would be remarkabley stupid. Did see Kevin Glenn being more involved on the sidelines after Smith Was pulled. Smith kept occupied by biting his nails. Not even a clipboard for him.

Just like a Rider fan to come up with some excuse for losing, again.

Not sure if I believe this. The closest thing to this I have heard of was back in the 80's when Ronnie Lancaster was coaching the Riders and decided to send in the backup QB in a losing game. This QB said that he wasn't ready to go in. He was gone that night. If Smith defied Chamblin thus, he would have been sent to the showers and been told to be gone before the team needed to be in locker room.

Yes please!

Riderfans is terrible for spreading false rumours saying they hear something from a "reliable source" without actually giving a link. I take anything that they say with a grain of salt until they give a link to a real source.

Please let us win the next two. We can lose the rest after that.

Riders gave up 10 sacks... Wow

Riders gave up 10 sacks... Wow

Bombers ain't no better.  Ow.

not much to cheer about in bomber land that's for sure.   :(

Yeah but the Riders have always been so proud of their linemen even up to last season while ours have sucked for ages. The Rider collapse, especially on the o-line, is stunning.

Can we merge the teams for the rest of the year? Then see a divorce lawyer?

I would almost settle for Australian Lawn Darts semi-finals replays.

I would bring chamblin in as our next dc

...cuz our defense has been the problem of late?
