NHL Draft is approaching soon, so thought I'd start an official thread to discuss the draft and any trades that happen between now and then.

Scouting report?

Was #39 in central scouting at year's end. Up from #57 mid-season.

 

The Jets know that there are hockey players from outside the USA, don't they?

They are going for volume this draft.  Their upcoming prospects are thin and it is a deep draft so they are looking to trade down in some quality to stock up.

Chuck Fletcher went out of his way to congratulate Kevin Cheveldayoff on the draft floor for the two players the Jets drafted in 1st round.

 

Nice to hear that other GMs think Chevy did a good job.

Giordano's camp is asking for $9 million per season to start negotiations. Byfuglien will be asking for that range.

I hope Chevy trades Buff ASAP. A contract like for a guy like Buff would cripple the Jets for years.

Connors ceiling is Matt Duchesne. Roslovic could very well be a number 1 or at worst 2 center who can also play RW.

Jets get an A today for sure. Buff can still be traded. I think he will be probably b4 the season starts.

The Pav contract wasn't a bad contract...  the team had nobody to replace him with and Pavs wasn't *that* bad in his contract year.    

 

The team has had way more hits then misses....

Any team picking between 15-30 should take a close look at Jansen Harkins.

What he lacks in flash he more than makes up for in effort and defensive awareness. Oilers were in talks for Rask yesterday so Talbot is a bit of a letdown but they needed someone. Desperately.
