Start with Higgins. Maybe see if we can package Higgins with Murphy or Forde (obviously punt Walters). That would be an awesome tandem.

Why punt Walters ?

You guys throw names around like you are tossing salad. Do you have any real working knowledge of their skill sets and qualifications? Best summed up by someone saying he must be good he is on TSN. You sound like some of the members of the Bombers BoD. If it wasn't so frightening it would be funny.

Because. Duane Forde is on TSN so he must be good.

No, because when you change a regime, sometimes you need to go all the way to prevent One Rotten Apple syndrome -- like when the old "assistant GM" is bitter because he didn't get the GM job he might've been promised during the previous regime.

Happens all the time in business. Clean house completely and get a new staff all on the same page.

If Walters is any good he'll resurface unscathed.

Then I'm not clear why that bitter old AGM got to hang around and be Mack's grunt for so long. Or as some referred to him as Bauer's lap dog. Interesting how some people draw their conclusions.

It's not drawing conclusions -- it's business. Anyone I know who's bought a business has done a complete purge of management. Those who didn't do that -- they wanted to be nice or whatever -- have ALL said they regretted it.

Not saying Walters couldn't 100% play ball with a new regime, but its obvious his predecessor Ross H couldn't.

Well fan girl u never know who or what is serious on here. Maybe people need a lol after there jokes.

Maybe because he knew how inept they really were. Isn't that funny. Maybe he'll feel better when the real inept people go packng. Lol.

So that means your second response is a joke, right?

Kerwin Bell? What has he done to justify a GM role?/

Isn't Mike Reiley basically in a coach for life situation at OSU?

Kerwin Bell has a huge network of individuals that would benefit a GM greatly. He also understands the skill set for CFL QBs and can build around that.

As for Mike, any coach in the Pac-12 is in a win or find a new job situation. Oregon State has been a great place for him but that won't last a lifetime. He went 3-9 in 2011 and the critics were calling for his job. Anytime someone earns $1.7 million they need results or it ends badly.

How many of these people you know have bought football teams? It's definitely not the same thing and the people part of the franchise are way more specialized than your average business where you could have several qualified people for any given position.

Why would u want someone who 100 % played ball with that regime? i just love people you speculate on what goes on in the inner workings of an organization. especially one that has proven as dysfunctional as the Bombers have been. A team player has the best interest of the team in mind. If u want a yes man hire a parrot.

Roy Shivers BC Director, Player Personnel

Neil McEvoy BC Player Personnel Coordinator & Assistant to the GM

John Murphy (May be able to bring over Dave Dickenson and a QB)

Chris Jones Argos Assistant GM/Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator

Other than Shivers  Jones, all the other guys are scouts. Just like Mack with no managerial experience. No thanks. We have that already. We need an experienced guy to manage our team. Besides, Shivers must be in his 70's now & likes to hang out in his hometown las Vegas. The dude is seriously old. Jones has zip experience as a HC so bringing him in to just manage?? Don't like that either because we've  had zip success with managerial infants. Once again, who is the best choice but Tom Higgins?

Most general managers have backgrounds as personnel men. That's what makes them good candidates for the position.

Yeah, but we have had our fill of neophyte wannabees.  Spend the freaking money & bring in a guy with a track record.  Twenty years of being cheap has left us at the point we're at now. Fans are sick of it.

We've only had two GMs in recent Bomber history...not sure where you're getting all these "neophyte wannabees."

I get what you are saying, but Murphy does have management experience as his title is Assistant General Manager, Player Personnel

So you would keep an assistant that didn't "play ball 100%" with the previous man who signed his paycheques?

I say the new GM, whomever it is, should have free reign to hire/fire whomever they want. It's their show.

And the thing is, no really good GM would agree to anything less.
