Honest question. If Perkins was the UFL MVP, how bad is the UFL?

Really bad. The QB play is terrible. It's unwatchable. I watch all the games in condensed packs, like just the plays. It's terrible. Like a guy with a 85 QBR is really good in that league. People are clowning on a guy like Maier in the CFL for being around 90-95. There's like 3 teams in the league that can consistenly pass the ball.

Aaand...another floater.

whooopeee

love that fg angle lol

That TD does nothing to change the complexion of the game or our opinions of the players.

That’s why we have Elgersma!

That is some really good experience if you watched all the games condensed, so thank you for your input. What do you mean that they are "clowning on a guy like Maier in the CFL for being around 90-95"? Serious question, I just don't understand.

Some of these guys shouldn't make it to the locker room.

How many phones does the head ref need to carry? Is it a competition?

Okay....the kick coverage wasn't bad.

There was a sale.

We make fun of Maier for having a QBR of 90-95....

QB rating, just a basic stat for being able to pass the ball. Like Rourke last year was a 112. Most CFL starting QB's are around 100. There's like one guy in the UFL this year up there, Jack Plummer who most would remember from Louisville. There's guys who have played in that league the whole time who just stink, like Jordan Ta'amu, Jalan McClendon, Luis Perez. Guys who have been up and down in that league but would look about as bad as Perkins has up here.

Can only hope for better things once the season starts.

That kid from the Rifles wouldn't look any worse.

IMO Jenkins won the starting de job. I’d have Dixon as a di due to his ability to move around the line. Reese and Arnold earned pr spots. I’d also roster Fletcher as Canadian depth.

Texada and Williams might be the only new dbs that earned a chance to stay in Winnipeg. Can Allen was disappointing.

Clinton earned a pr spot. I liked the other Mac too, but we have too many guys for him to stick around.

Singer the only new rec worth talking about. Interesting to see if he starts or we go three ni.

I guess when we play mostly special teamers for better than half the game our special teams look great, but our offence and defence look terrible......

my real concern, aside from the old boys club, is how many guys are about to make this club from the tub.

We don’t get real injury reports, but it looks like a bad list to start the year.

fletcher isn’t canadian. Wish he was. but agree with the names on dl.

Both those dbs were on the pr too iirc. If moxley is out a while we might see both start. don’t love that.

I like clinton. we gotta cut some fat at lber one day though.

Singer will likely be the return guy while vaval is out.

90% of these guys are cuts. And that's including the practice roster.

Some common sense. Finally.

Holy F! Aside from Sergio, who of relevance played today? Almost nobody. Take a pill, relax. If you saw the depth chart and expected a different result tonight, you can't be helped lol.

This is scaring the **** out of me. Demski and Vaval have missed virtually all of camp. Ceresna (bad history of injuries) also missed significant time. I feel like it's going to be a rough start to the year.

I'm at the game in Calgary next week... Last year I had to leave at half time because I couldn't stomach anymore. Hoping it's not more of the same...

This would make sense if they were playing BC starters. But it's back ups vs back ups.... No concern about our current crop of recruits that we got pantsed out there by other back ups in front of the home crowd...?

I thought he was from Toronto, but that makes sense. He seemed pretty good for a Canadian we picked up halfway through training camp lol

Fletcher is an American.

Singer had a lot of drops in two games. But him and Fredricksen had a lot of targets. Have to think they are both sticking around. But not sure they'll be active. Womack is another receiver I think they might keep. Harrison is a steady returner, didn't really strike fear that he'd break one though.

I liked the OL Williams at C. Ellsbury was good there too. Mazzccua had a lot of hype in camp, didn't see much in the games to separate. I honestly can't judge the OL blocking for Peterson because he's so slow to hit the line. Chris-Ike gave us some idea of what the OL is accomplishing, too bad Rocker didn't get any reps, hope he liked the food provided because he was up here for a month to get zero reps on film.

Randolph was really bad at LT.

Munier-Bailey and Gatkuoth look like decent situational guys, not sure what the ceilings are there. Don't seem to want to mix it up at all, not a lot of burst, like to get to their leverage and read.

I think Reese easily could have passed Dixon in the games, but Dixon does have the versatility. Both should stick here.

Could see Kelly getting clipped if we use 3 DI's on D which is possible IMO (Vaval/DB, Woodbey, DL) and with all the Canadian guys here looking a lot better on special teams and D (Stuart, Bouliane, Ball).

Thanks for clarification. I get the QB rating, but wasn't sure how that looked in UFL and wasn't sure what you meant by "clowning on Maier" but I guess that just means mocking or saying he's not very good for that rating. But the rest I didn't know, that a lot of qb's in UFL really aren't very good. I guess the take home point is that MVP or best qb of UFL doesn't translate to being a star in CFL.

So again, thanks for the information and the observation to inform on the topic.

Poncius deserves a pr spot imo. He made a couple mistakes but looks to have a lot of potential. I think there’s a good chance one of Randolph or Vanterpool gets cut.

I thought KMB was disappointing in both games, but likely still makes the ar as a backup and st’er.
