I hope it’s all fully guaranteed

also, if we can lock brown into a long term team friendly deal it could be a long term massive advantage. With the cap going up, even a 300-350k multi year deal would be big. If zach retires, we should be in the best cap space situation this off season.

If Kellys gonna get a mil... And BLM is getting 750ish... And Zach retires..... Why in God's good name would Brown take 300-350? 300-350 isn't starter money NOW, never mind when the cap goes way up next year. Browns getting at least a half mil on his next contract, based on where things are trending...

brown isn’t solidified in the starters tier, and certainly isn’t top tier. It’s pretty standard that a qb getting a top spot like this doesn’t get top money. Who else pays him more and starts him? No one. How much is a qb2 gonna go for?

You gotta factor in lawyer fees and out of court settlements though... He's probably not left with a whole lot after paying his bills.

Really good article in the Toronto Sun today about Luke Willson being such a polarizing character for the CFL , either love him or hate him. I personally think he is a breath of fresh air for the CFL and in my opinion the best PBP man TSN has had in a long time. Simmons: How Luke Willson became Canada's busiest - and maybe most-hated - man in football

"Most hated man in football" is exactly the type of ego stroking Luke and TSN want.

I like his PBP. His Twitter schtick is played out.

It seems like even Luke has realized his online heel persona was too much. I wouldn't be surprised to see him reel it back a bit.

That said, his directness in pbp is the breath of fresh air the league needs.

best guy on tv doing games in long long time up here...what he gives in insight and delivery gives the CFL broadcasts some professionalism and legitimacy it has lacked

I have acquaintances down south ask me on several occasions before who some of these clowns we had on air were and where did we find them...

The most amazing thing about this is Steve Simmons was able to write an article that wasn't all about him and what he thinks about something...

This isn't going to "reset" the QB market... it's going to **** up the QB market... many average QBs are going to be grossly overpaid now...

My fear now is we gonna re-up ZC for like 700k....and get about 200k worth of value...and totally take us out of the running to improve roster elsewhere...Especially if we like I assume bring back 3 db's pulling in almost 600k between them as well, and 500k tied up in BO and Demski

Thats a whole lotta cap room being ate up by 6 guys....as was last yr too, and a good reason for our shallow depth and roster full of slugs and plugs

3 Bombers named as award finalists so far:

Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman: Jarell Broxton, Nick Callender, Pier-Olivier Lestage

The rest of the award finalists will be announced tomorrow.

they go with 3 now as opposed to 2 for the award night?

Yep, new twist to the award nominations - it's the top 3, regardless of division.

That's the best damn season by 3 Canadians I can remember. With Brady having the quietest of performances at over 6 YPC and almost 1850 total yards from the line, despite the worst usage of his career.

could throw Tyrel Ford in there too....

Philpot went off crazy in first 1/2 to 2/3rds of the yr and then tapered off a bit...BO I know will not win as they surely wanna give it to Philpot...and yup he had a phenomenal yr but a phenomenal supporting cast including coaching

BO out paced him yardage wise for the yr, still managed 8 TD's even tho he prob had a good half dozen poached from him with the era of SY QB's...and his supporting cast and coaching for the most part this yr did nothing to help him whatsoever...If not for the Philpot he would be the front runner..Sure Rourke has a good yr...but he wasnt the leading QB this yr statistically.

On X, Willson said he liked the story by Steve Simmons but didn't like the header. He called the guy who wrote it a muppet.

Cody Fajardo(?), Tyson Philpott & Davis Alexander are the three finalists in the voting for MOP. Nathan Rourke should have been there instead of Cody.

Yeah but to a lot of the idiot voters MOP = team award so faj gets pity votes cause Edmonton finished first in the west

mop is a team award sadly.

Faj has no chance just like Brady doesn't either. Alexander wins MOP. Philpott wins MOC. Or... Philpott wins both MOP & MOC. Either way it looks like Brady gets shut out.

the funny thing is it's specifically worded to not be a team award... outstanding, rather than valuable...

could have been Rourke over Faj... probably should've been Adams over Faj...

Rourke: 4614 yards, 70.5 comp %, 24 TD-11 INT
Adams: 4533, 65.6%, 36-6
Fajardo: 4788, 69.3, 25-10

Faj has never done anything outstanding in his entire career. Him getting the nod over A Harris in 2019 is a black mark on the league.

I will listen to the argument for Faj as Valuable to his team this year, but Outstanding... Absolutely not. One of the most overrated players ever.

The fact he can play professional football without tripping over his bottom lip is pretty outstanding, IMO.

Staying healthy and playing for a team where his defense carried him because of turnover. Good job faj.
