Heard yesterday morning out of Regina a Rider player had been in a wreck and that it was likely the Rider players fault, didn't know who until afternoon. Then a lot of locals went off on a "brown guy

Would also like to add you bring a lot to the board and are wealth of knowledge as well...and have made me see certain things different ways and its always good discussing things with you.. as unlike many other posters here.. your posts are based on actual knowledge..experience and obviously being involved in the game a oong time as well..which makes many discussions here so good...no hate from me..

No hate from me either. Luv ya Booch. I just like to pluck feathers just like you do.

yeah....i agree...and I like good debate and discussion...and opinions....

I have no faith the bombers can make any noise this year, so hoping elks and MTL can stay healthy and one of them beat the riders

I suspect us finishing 3rd/4th in the west if we're lucky. OTT and HAM missing the playoffs, then a tossup between us, BC and CGY for the other team to miss the playoffs.

HAM just has no luck, they were looking good until Bo got hurt, sometimes you can eke out a win like they did tonight but I don't see that as being sustainable.

No one in a paid U Sports position is coming to the CFL.

Who said he'd get paid? I said that Thomas could have gone to U Sports to coach the DL to gain the experience & then come back or maybe he decides to stay. Former Stamps Safety Greg Frers went to coach U Sports in the OAU & became a successful HC. Former Bison Head Coach Henry Janzen & Argo Larry Uteck in the Maritimes. All 3 either won the Vanier Cup or built their programs to be elite. AFAIK, only the coordinators & HC get paid as coaches in U Sport.

I will admit the mental gymnastics were entertaining last year.

"Mace is not a good coach, Harris will wilt down the stretch. That team is built on smoke and mirrors."

"Oh crap, they finished first."

"Oh crap, they won the WF."

"Oh crap, the won the GC."

Looking at our remaining schedule, I think you have a good chance of being gifted a 1 win in a split of the LDC/BJB. A chance we beat tor and BC. That would make us an 8 win team. Imo, that won't be good enough for the crossover. For 9 wins, the next best chance would be to take 1 of the 2 from edmonton.

You are probably right, but the 'Cats looked much better as a team than they have since BLM was dinged, and although his throws were not always on target, it was the best game I have seen Trey Ford play.

We could use Perkins in similar fashion.. he has mobility and escapability and a more accurate arm than Ford

I wish we had some packages for him and give him extended reps in a drive after short yardage like we did with Strev the first yr before we ruined him

I bet Perkins would be way more successful too..and gives him valuable reps to truly compete in 2027 for starter job...its not like hes some old non athletic kinda no upside guy

We should also run some 2Qb sets too with him..prob be pretty successful too

Greg Knox maybe? Only got to be an interim head coach. At York now with Dexter Janke.

Totally depends on the school and program how many coaches get paid. U of M has two full time coaches. Laval, Montreal, Sherbrooke, the OUA schools outside of U of T, York, Waterloo, Calgary, UBC, Sask have most of their staff paid.

CFL position coaches are mostly guys with limited ability to earn outside of football, for whatever it's worth. CFL teams have tried to pull really solid coaches out of U Sports, CJFL....guys who are getting paid to coach at those levels and sometimes guys with other careers who do coaching on the side. The CFL money is not good enough. Guys basically have to be committed to building their resume to get a head coaching job to make any real money in the CFL. Or be able to flip to NCAA at some point.

The last couple Bombers OL coaches will tell you stories about couch surfing and living with their parents into their 40's to pursue coaching.

So then, someone like Jake Thomas went from being an overpaid DL to am under paid asst coach? I know the CFL doesn't pay well so why would these ex pros do it? Seems to me at 37 years of age, guys like Thomas should be pursuing active working careers then ibefore they age out nstead of coaching gigs that don';t pay well at all.

Love of the game and a chance developing some chops for a higher paying gig down the road

FWIW: If the DAZN contract will exclude TSN from broadcasting Saturday night games and the idea of paying more for yet another service irks you, PM me for a possible solution.

If anyone pays even a little bit of attention, they know that Jake Thomas is a realtor in the offseason. Being a CFL coordinator is a part time gig for him and he's not doing it for the money. It's also been said that he's a potential future GM in this league. He was a PA guy for awhile and apparently has a keen eye for the business side of things.

A potential future GM? A guy coaching the DL & is a realtor in New Brunswick who hasn't worked a day in personnel for the Bombers ios a furure GM? Just curious, what gives him a keen eye for business? I'm not saying it isn't true but there's been no mention of him doing any scouting or personnel work with Winnipeg.

What made Kyle Walters, a special teams coach a candidate for gm?

He was doing the Canadian scouting under Mack.

For as many years as he played with so little talent in the CFL, he sure did a heck of a sell job on somebody. Sales = number 1 criteria for a great manager.

I believe it was a throw away comment by MOS one day. No reason to think he'll ever be a GM or even that he would like to be.

Gm is a unique skill set. People are quick to forget that maciocia hustled his way into an unpaid intern gig under jim popp, after two years coaching high school football.

Man, I used to know Jim barker real well when he was GM in Calgary. He had a football school & coached Tyler when he was a bantam player. I should have asked iof there was an opening. I never thought to do it. I coached as well. I had the same basic skill as Muchacho. .
