25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread

Is this ever a guy we should take a run at? I really like Pokey as a receiver but not sure he's a 1A Superstar guy... Would you ever take a run at Hatcher as your #1 and then have Pokey and Demski as 2/3?

I hate change. This is going to take me like a year to get used to.

Can confirm - ran it through Google Translate and this is what came back:

  • Brady is the most complete running back in the CFL full stop. Rushing, receiving, blocking, no one does it all as well as he does.   Now that doesn't automatically make the contract he got w

These older players sign their 1 year deals thinking the money will always be there even though younger receivers are being signed or drafted. Then, the money dries up for these older players. They've gone 6 weeks without being signed as free agents. They can see the writing on the wall. No one will pay what they want. The market dries up. Had they had a 2 year deal they might still be employed. That's the downside of 1 year deals. Older veterans beware.

2 year deals do nothing to increase their chances of employment. If you don't earn your last year's salary there is a good chance you will be replaced unless you are on one of these 3 year guaranteed money deals.

Braylon Addison had over 800 yards receiving. Same with Rhymes up at around 900 yards himself. Which meant both players were positive contributors to their offensive teams. However for some reason, CFL teams just didn't want to pony up for older veterans. Even if they can still play. They still were decent players. I think their numbers show that they may still be playing if they hadn't signed 1 year deals. I believe we'd have been pretty excited had Rhymes signed here for 2026. At least, I would have been. He'd have made a big target for Zach. he'd have helped us for sure. Instead, he was forced to retire.

LOL

Each tailgating permit will cost $500 and includes two parking spaces in order to accommodate a full setup. In February, the Roughriders allowed season-ticket holders to enter a lottery for tailgating spaces. Successful applicants are expected to be contacted in April.

That's interesting anyhow... I mean $500 for the season including two parking passes for every game... That's not exorbitant, I don't think.

Legalized tailgating. And a governmebnt cash grab. How to take the fun away from a football game.

My understanding is that they intend the tailgaters to use the 2nd stall for their chairs, BBQ etc. So, in actuality there will be room for one vehicle.

Its not like in Winnipeg where there are areas for lots of fans to set up on the grass in front of their vehicles.

The 2 stalls are for a car or truck pulling a bbq/smoker.

It'll be interesting to see how the turnout goes for the riders. 500 bucks for the year seems like solid value for season ticket holders. But that market is not as spend crazy as it was when they broke their streak.

The stadium location for them is awful. (aside from the fact its in Saskatchewan) Having a tailgate spot with a park and ride might not be bad, except for the driver.

Makes me glad for where the stadium is now. It was a risky move but once they figured out traffic a bit its been a massive W.

It's just too bad there isn't an entertainment district close to PAS. It's a long drive or bus ride to any decent restaurants or pubs northbound on Pembina Highway. There was just about everything close to Canad Inns Stadium. It wasn't perfect as there weren't a lot of bars around but fans did have some restaurant choices nearby. As well as shopping at Polo Park.

Yeah, it'd be nice if they developed a great dining/pub area nearby.

Polo Park isn't what it used to be lol, they dodged a bullet moving away from there. South Kenaston is better shopping now.
