Cfl tone deaf af, last thing we need is more changes. We have too many big changes coming already. It’ll be impossible to tune the change planned if they keep compiling changes on top of that.

Spending a lot of time looking at changing rules with the belief that this will help grow our league is such lazy thinking with little effort needed just debating and intellectualizing about it ad nauseum in house while they could be doing way more important things. Rules in our league is not the reason we can't compete with the NFL. It's $ and location so should not the CFL Commish and his team be applying a full court press on how they can attract sponsors, increase attendance by marketing that they are comitted to drawing the highest quality talent for fans to watch and cheer for?

That's why I said $230,000. He should be $200,000 + easy.

I wonder if this is going to be the new market for dbs, or if it’ll be a short term surge. It’s crazy to pay such money. DB is very close to rb in terms of replacement. It might even be easier, because rbs in the cfl really need to block and a lot of college backs struggle at first with it.

How many American players worth drafting would consider the CFL at that point in their career though?  We often see guys sit on neg lists for years before they come up (if ever) because they have no interest in playing anywhere but the NFL.  You already get that with a handful of players in the Canadian draft but a US draft would be absolutely full of this.

If they can get enough American players to declare for a CFL draft then it could work but I don't see that happening or being successful.  Maybe it might work in conjunction with the neg list (IE: keep the neg list but have a draft for some top rated/well known players who might get generate some buzz)?

This would basically be the neg list but with a public shaming of the league added on.  Brilliant marketing.

So they could pull it all into one day, teams draft guys, don't want them, cut them and could they add other guys to their protected list?  Would some guys have to go through a draft and others you can just sign whenever, in August or October?

dyce to ham for teams, and reinbold back to hamilton for the same too.

All the best to BD except of course against us.

Against us I hope his ST gives up multiple touchdowns to our KR's, his KR's fumble many many times to our KR coverage and so forth and so forth 🙂

First thing BD thinks when he arrives in Hamilton: 'Damn I forgot about that smell.'

100%. Same for both for me. I like both as guys and football minds. Don’t particularly want either here unless it was some crazy good value position.

Reinbold???even in a value position, I don't think the Blue faithful will ever forget the coaching disaster he was here.....The guy has bounced around the league so often, he thinks he's  a Hawaiian beachball ...

Reinebold hasn't bounced around that much by CFL coaching standards.  He's coached for three different CFL teams in the past decade.

Noel Thorpe and Mike Benevides and Scott Milanovich (2nd best offense in 2025) and Corey Mace (best DC in 2025) have all coached for three different CFL teams in the past decade.

Reinebold has been around the CFL for 30+ years now (!) so it's gonna seem like he's bouncing a lot but really he's just a typical CFL assistant.

Yeah he was out of the league for a long time after Winnipeg (1999-2011) but since he returned, he's coached almost exclusively for the TiCats.  One season (2012) in Montreal, one in BC (2018) and now Ottawa - that's pretty stable for an assistant coach in the CFL.  Definitely a lot of other coaches who have moved around just as much (if not more) or that same time period.

BLM probably regretting his decision not to retire right about now...

He's really good as a team/position coach. They loved his recruiting ability in Hawaii, too. He didn't work out, but he was also given way to much to do. He's a quality guy though. I don't have any hate for him, even though his era here was brutal.

I recall people here saying that Kolo could contribute as a spare OL or a guy in heavy run sets.  Maybe he won't be the starting center in Hamilton?

Prior to last year, he was a very reliable snapper. Heavy-set asset? Not really. An OL with the right passport can always get another shot up here though.

I find that an interesting move with woodmansey a free agent for them, and one of the best guys available. Maybe they are preparing (poorly) for him to get an offer they can't compete with.

Szott was their back-up last season and he's a pending FA as well they may have a few spots to fill.

he would be the worst spare Olineman on a roster....cant play anything but center...and well...we saw how he plays that....as a guard he's be obliterated and embarrassed more than at center....so if a tackle or guard got hurt...1 injury would likely mean 3 position swaps....

I seem to recall that he is from the Hamilton area, so its a good fit for him if so.
