The alternative going forward without him isn't very promising. We have no succession plan. We had years to get that done & didn't.

well, we brought in Brown but he emerged a little too early for our convenience.  And Streveler could have been QBNext except for some devastating injuries.

credit to this Bomber regime that they actually brought in two quarterbacks who could win games in the CFL.  Before Strev in 2018 and Brown in 2023 you have to go all the way back to Danny Mac to find a Bomber-recruited QB who didn't **** the bed when the spotlight hit them.

Mtl had one...and dumped the Faj

You could say B.C as well with Rourke before his nfl journey

We did with Brown...but let him go for a guy who has been in constant decline since

Which CFL team has an heir apparent in place for their starting QB right now?

Arguably Hamilton (at least for the time being) with Taylor Powell.  Similar to our situation with Zach and Dru, Powell may need to leave to get a shot at starting because BLM keeps extending his career.

My 2 cents ......we shouldn't look to allocate money to our LB corpse, we have some pieces already to be good....we should be allocating that money along the d-line....not sure who may still be available come FA, but the way I look at it, is the more we spend on DB,LB the less we have to spend along the D-line.....

The gappers only need our team to fold, and if they keep winning cups at their current rate in 200 years they will tie us. Let that sink in sister lovers.

In all honesty Brown hasn't earned his money either. He wouldn't have played more than 5 games behind our OL. He is injury prone.

Glass qb? I also don't like his seemingly laissez faire attitude on the field. He just chills his way thru games with no emotion. Stays mellow the whole time while inspiring no one. Like he smokes doobies in a van down by the river.

I can recall conversations like that about Khari Jones. Until he was no longer available. Kevin Glenn too...

I  dunno, Brown just gives off a weird vibe to me. I like to see qbs take on a leadership role. Guys don't have to be screaming, pounding their chest or slapping guys on the helmet  but they need to find ways to inspire through their play. Brown is a skilled player who hasn't done that. Two seasons as the starter & Crum has played more than Brown. He may even be better than Brown. C rum's play has grown by leaps & bounds. With Dinwiddie, he may really develop.

https://3downnation.com/2026/01/03/exclusive-bo-levi-mitchell-contract-details-for-2026-cfl-season-with-hamilton-tiger-cats/

Quote

Bo Levi Mitchell left money on the table but negotiated a $100,000-plus raise to play for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2026.

The six-foot-one, 210-pound QB received a $210,000 signing bonus to ink his two-year extension with the Ticats. He has a $210,000 base salary, $40,000 in marketing money, $15,300 for housing and a $10,000 travel allowance to equal $485,300 in hard money.Mitchell also has $30,000 available in incentives, which can be unlocked if he makes the active roster and plays one snap in 16 games. Should he achieve that bonus, his total for 2026 would top out at $515,300.

The 35-year-old ranks fifth after B.C.’s Nathan Rourke, Toronto’s Chad Kelly, Winnipeg’s Zach Collaros and Calgary’s Vernon Adams Jr. among starting quarterbacks for financial compensation in 2026. Ottawa’s Dru Brown, Saskatchewan’s Trevor Harris and Edmonton’s Cody Fajardo are behind him.

I hope Walters is taking notes while he being schooled by the other GMs

Walters...and Osh too by extension need to look at roster...positions..who may be available and who "should" be resigned and act accordingly to maximize roster..and knowing Cdn players can be at a premium for established as to where to pay the premium...The Kramdi deal is just dumb...can be played by a player for 100k less and played better...that's one of the cdn players they need to know when to move on from...BO..Demski..Lawson...guys like that you pay for..tho id like BO to have been less as they would be missed and are key parts...Kramdi is not..if he was gone we'd be no worse for wear and he would be an after thought and not missed

But...now he is likely gonna be one our highest paid defenders...that's insane..more than Nichols who is way more valuable...and does Nichols bump..kramdis bs deal mean adios Holm...who both of should be making more...but won't be, thankfully as their combined hit if he is reupped will a huge anchor elsewhere...we need to know when and where to cut the chord
