Dr Zaius Posted yesterday at 04:51 PM Report Posted yesterday at 04:51 PM Is there any realistic chance hogan gets fired?

I don’t think he would’ve put us over calgary or bc. Now if we fire hogan early or never make him oc, and keep lawler, then I think you are right. Our offence was bad, partly because we didn't have a star receiver to go up and bring down the 50/50 ball consistently. Add Lawler and the rest of the recievers get more room. We make such a big deal hosting the Grey Cup & our GM acted like it really meant nothing. Refusing to spend any money while watching a couple of big free agents walk. We all kept waiting for a big signing which never came. His sitting on his ass while blaming the CFLPA for it was the last straw for me. Understandable. However, in Walter's defence, and I am in no way absolving him, maybe some of those premium players may not have wanted to come here because of O'Shea's rigid insistence of playing his pet players to the exclusion of better players. ddanger 1

I just can't imagine Jake Thomas coming back again but if Osh is still here, I wouldn't be surprised if he did & started again. It's a joke. Playing Thomas on a 3 man front is like watching a boat get swept out to sea in Hurricane Melissa. 19 hours ago, JuranBoldenRules said: Like who? Again look at the free agent list. A lot of guys who made very little impact. Edmonton and Ottawa signed everyone. Where were they? Keep Lawler is the main one. Maybe go nuts to sign Geno Lewis too. The next best receiver was Hollins who is busted up and barely played, bounced around the league this year. Main thing is scouting and recruiting. Which has been in steep decline since 22. We could have bolstered the DL which would have made a huge difference. There were free agent OL out there. None signed. Claimed we didn't have the money. As far as recruiting goes, I think we did fine but the Head Coach plays his favourites. Young guys barely get a chance. Edited 12 hours ago by SpeedFlex27 Tracker 1

Imp talent is not the problem here, it’s the log jam of trash we handicap our self by starting and playing in our primary reps. Take a look at the players who’ve come to us from his region. Internal would be the dumbest thing...we seen how that panned out with OC guy...we need new vison/idea's...philosophy...the foundation and way we do things here organizationally is set and solid....but we need a new driver Everything built here wont fly out the door by canning the HC....and as the HC claims...he rarely knows the pulse of the room...the vets keep it in working order....that being said...perhaps he should be more hands on and coach and be part of the pulse....and actually coach and be the disciplinarian when need be.... Both couldn’t sniff the field. Think teams entering free agency want to come here? Who knows if they will even get a chance to see the field. When it comes to young talent entering the league would they rather go to a place like Winnipeg, or a place like BC, Montreal, Toronto, etc where as long as you have talent you have a chance to make the team and are put in a position to show case talent. I think we’re suffering a lot because of O’sheas stubbornness with his roster management. I've said several times there was a reason and connection as to why it seemed like we missed out on some guys in FA that would have kept this train chugging along...many here tried to deny it....but it is real On 2025-11-01 at 7:21 PM, JuranBoldenRules said: Once you get out of the top 10 of free agent rankings from the past couple seasons it's littered with guys who have been benched and cut. You can search up cfl.ca or 3 Down if you want to audit. Free agency isn't a way to build a team. The Bombers have had massive turnover since the 22 Grey Cup, each year since. It's honestly part of the reason why they are less competitive. They haven't back filled with young players who are developing into solid pros. Rookies have had tons of opportunity here. Some have taken it, some aren't good players at this level. But we focus on the whipping boys who have been here for awhile. Yes they've had a hard time telling everyone their time is up. Like to me Neufeld and Bryant should have been gone after 23. Jefferson I wouldn't have brought back this season. I'm not sure who you guys think is being blocked here. Like where's the all-star team of guys who haven't made it here in the past 3-4 years and are tearing up the CFL or NFL...even UFL. nope....not way to build....but perfect way to retool and augment and keep your arse on the top of the hill.....if there is a legit player there for taking and you dont cause you prefer your own garbage in certain spots because that how you do your ratio...or your love/loyalty to a vet who is on downside, as opposed to upside....well then you deserve to, and will fail...we seen it here first hand Tracker and Blue28 2

bearpants Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago 23 hours ago, JuranBoldenRules said: Lawler would have made a huge difference. Collaros had basically one receiver he trusted for most of the season in Demski. Wilson he has good rapport with. Sterns it was developing. We had no big targets, catch radius guys, and we have a QB that is fixated on taking vertical shots. Lawler is probably the best guy in this era for the style Collaros thrives in. If you're going all in you keep Lawler and probably go hard at someone like Geno Lewis. You have Lawler, Schoen, Lewis. For the most part the rest of the free agents wouldn't have changed anything for us. It was a lot of pretty average DB's and OL. Like if we sign a David Beard are we a better team? Probably not. We got probably the 3rd best DL available in Vaughters. Ceresna was always going to Edmonton and they paid out the nose to try to bring most of Toronto's DL west. The fail here is 3 seasons of needing to improve the bottom third of the roster and find/develop the next round of impact guys. What do we have to show for those training camps? Ontaria Wilson? We're recycling DB's now, we've got no impact DL, a couple OL who look ok in Randolph and Vanterpool. Wallace might take a step next year just in time to get paid. There's two old adages in football that I still believe to be 100% true... defense wins championships... and you build your team from the lines out... the second one was our downfall this year... I said it earlier in the season... all else being equal behind the lines, if we could import a dominant OL and DL on this exact same team... I think we'd be hosting the WF again next week... All this is to say... that I agree we should've kept Lawler and he would've helped the offense immensely... having poor lines was our biggest downfall Booch 1

And when he flips that switch you can't do any thing about it. But when he doesn't, he doesn't require or get double teams. Just under half of his yards and Tds came in his 4 games of 100 yards or more. He is good for as many games where he catches 3/7, 4/10 and has under 40 yards with a RBs per carry level of per catch. We could make a burner work, we could make a down field possesion guy work, a yac guy, any one who will consistenly catch and do damage no matter the situation. 2 hours ago, Booch said: AND lines are built from inside and out...and we were/are worst in the league at center and DT.....and who do we play there...JT and the Matador Kolo You set the inside...anchor a Tackle and an End....you thrive I had no issue with Big Stan...a solid center....and guard who doesn't have to compensate....and Bryant is just...Bryant and Really I'd have no issue if he comes back and we stop the rigidity of our ratio. He has struggled with great speed the last two years, but maybe the answer is flip big stan to C. Run with pool, and rando at the Ts, and 2 canadian guards. Big stan could co ordinate the utter mess our interior line has been quick fast and in a hurry. And no one would be able to line up out side him and blow by. Piggy 1 and rebusrankin 2
