Vaughters and Willie took way to many snaps pretty well ineffective, roster needs to add at least 1 more end

Does Osh realize that tho? Wr won...despite a less than optimal roster sp based on history no change will be made unless someone literally on crutches..nobody will get valuable experience and earn more playtime and it will invetibally bite us in ass when it really counts...we've seen this movie 4 yrs running now...

Re-watched the game. Bombers D had very little push up the middle but overall D is solid. Special teams better than previous couple years. O looked lost for the most part. O line struggled and did not dominate. Here's hoping J Jackson can be honest with Hogan, Osh etc in his assessment of Collaros, who's clearly on the downswing in terms of arm strength. Let's face it, Strev has better accuracy and velocity. In some ways we were lucky to be facing Masoli or result could've been different.

Give Collaros the Game 1 OL and let's see.  Streveler had near zero pressure on dropbacks, a bit of pressure on some RPO/rollout stuff they did because he's running stiff off the knee injury.  He also put the ball up for grabs a bunch in those conditions, especially in the first half of that first game.  He has a decent deep ball with no pressure and moves it out quick.  Almost no intermediate game which Collaros lives on.

The OL is the problem right now and the big difference on O between the two games.  There's no consistent 4-5 yards on the run at BC, it's a big run or basically nothing.  The Game 1 OL we had that run game with some bursts too, but Peterson was getting 3-4 yards before first contact almost every touch.

The lack of pressure on Streveler could have had more to do with his ability to run. Dline has to contain him. Collaros, not so much. They know they can go after him and force mistakes.

Im willing to let the season play out. But last night made me question (even more) the offer of a contract extension before the season started.

We need more pressure up the middle....Most of the time Masoli was playing pitch and catch....Offence seemed complacent after scoring the first 20 pts and seemed content to sit on the lead...Can't do that with the top clubs and walk away with 2 pts......Overall we were adequate.... Did not like our punter....Seems to lack leg strength when we need a deep ball....Not good enough

I'm wondering if there is anything to the idea that the Dome is "dead air" and you need an extra 5 yards on throws/kicks.....

Zach said in post game that it's on him to make better throws get the job done no matter what, but I'm curious...

Bombers +8 on net punting over Lions in the two games.  Sheahan's net through 2 games would be 2nd in the league last season.

But yeah, Bombers suck right?

Zach can not play like a vintage Danny Mac gunslinger... I'd like to see him throw on the run more.

The rare athlete can maintain a high level of performance well into their 30's but damned few. I fear that Collaros' trend has been down for about two years now, and, worse yet, I can foresee O'Shea doing a Matt Nichols on him, trotting him out again and again even when Collaros is done like dinner.

As with others..we win despite the less than optimal players...he won't change anything...I've said before we have won a lot despite his poor choices...but those days may be numbered as a lot of the depth that compensated for it..while in their prime...is either not prime anymore...or gone

He said it himself in TC ...you watch tape on a guy from yrs ago and you see the production they can do...or something along those lines...and he just clings to it.. we've seen it way too much...he doesn't forward think...let alone develop guys along the way to step in...or just flat out replace guys who aren't the best option cause we've won with them before...or he just likes them cause they been here forever...and that's bad.

Our depth has eroded so bad because of it...and again have a lot of just ST only guys...again...are reluctant to let guys who could and can make a difference play legit reps...and a couple don't even get a sniff of the roster

Its gonna bite us in ass again this yr...just you watch...unless he does a serious change in his opinion...or Walters and or Miller steps in and plays Boss

Watching the replay during the game. I said it looked like Demski accelerated when he spotted the ball and then realized it was going to be short. So maybe there's something too it.

I do think that is by design. Paul Lapolice touched on it in his Bombers season preview. Since last year, they have adopted a coverage defence rather than a pressure defence. Last year, it resulted in the defence ranking first in offensive points given up, net offensive yards given up, first downs given up and passing yards given up despite ranking last in sacks and second-last in interceptions. If they can reproduce that this year I won’t complain!

More pressure up the middle typically means more defenders at the line and less coverage downfield. That’s not how Jordan Younger operates. Last year too, they ranked last in sacks but still managed to finish first in offensive points given up, net offensive yards given up, first downs given up and passing yards given up. If the Bombers can replicate that this year I think we should be thrilled!

You should still be able to get pressure tho with your line...also if pressure on QB makes him throw under duress...rushed...or before receiver is open then the DB's will really eat...you have the right guys up front...you will get pressure

That mentality in last yrs cup with Arbuckle of all people gave the Argos an time of possession well over 30 mins on us if I recall correctly

Hard to score when defence on the field...and wears them down...especially when you have a piss poor offensive game plan of your own...and or are clinging to a QB in decline based on his past success...recipe for losing big games..

Up front we need younger...more athletic and active lineman to compliment WJ and Vaughters...and Lawson...Adams is exactly that...Woods...Person...Bailey are too..Thomas...Korn...are not...I'd actually roster Scmeck over both and have just him and Lawson...he at least is tenacious and is a plus on the jumbo for offence and would serve more use...we also in this scheme need dlineman with technique and hand skills/fighting ability which would help immensely...Thomas and Korn (at this juncture) have none...the aforementioned tho all do

Last year’s Grey Cup was a turnover fest, can’t blame the defence on that one. The offence has to give the defence a chance to succeed, and that was simply a dreadful performance. The stats throughout the year suggest that the coverage defence strategy works, and again, early on this year, the defence looks promising.

My lasting impression of the Grey Cup is Osh playing Collaros with an injured finger which was a disastrous decision. Then he started Jake Thomas rotating him & Schmeckel at DT on a 3 man front & being stood up, pushed back, running around on his tippy toes being the 5th guy in on his tackles & manhandled on every fricking play he was in. Schmeckel wasn't much better. Both guys were on an island being mugged every play while WJ played the game of his life. Those 2 were an embarassment. FF to last night, no defensive ends to rotate in & Thomas still there, still starting & still as useless as ever.

Yeah I don’t doubt that we could improve on Thomas but the defence is solid regardless, and it is designed as to prioritize coverage over backfield pressure.

If they have fans on in a dome it can push a ball up high...or knock one down...depending on direction u going on field

That being said...some of ZC throws where air isn't an issue were brutal too

The air up high in that stadium is really wonky. It’s also humid which messes with ball flight.
But yeah, he tossed a bunch of bad tosses short to.

Was a turnover fest when the put ZC back in with 4 fingers...after one series he shoulda been yanked...he shouldn't have even entered with numbing in his fore finger..most important one for a qb for accuracy and spiral...a glove on which he has never thrown with...epic coaching fail...that being said we still were whipped bad in T.O.P

Pressure up the middle is better than off the edge, if you can push the C back into the QBs lap and mess with the throwing lanes you can throw off the passing game faster and with out extra guys.

The way you create pressure up the middle is with a good nose tackle and 3tech. Not with extra bodies. Also twists help if your dts are athletic enough to go around the C and still get in on the play.

Lawson plus adams gives us that. We could use a guy inside who can rotate and provide any thing.
Also doesn’t help that our ends haven’t gotten any thing going.

I don’t disagree, but i think the turnovers are a big reason why Argos dominated TOP.

Yeah...its small at times insignificant stuff you don't really notice too which makes a big difference, and sometimes a huge play

Take the Parker TD...3 man pressure...with the right 3 man...Lawson knifed inside beat 2 blockers..cause Masoli to have to move...walk up in pocket and rush his throw as pocket was collapsing from ends...made him ahead of his receiver with a bad rushed throw ..TD bombers...had Jake been the nose..would have got stonewalled prob right at line or washed to the edge...and who knows how play woukd have turned out...definitely not TD bombers

If you look at and break down plays and see where the faults are...you see it differently...and if you grade a play to best of ability even though not sure the call...but for most part u can get a good sense of responsibility...you see more too

And that twist with Thomas they highlighted was embarrassing

The fact we knew what kind of defense we wanted to run...and didnt adress having a legit Nose or multi use DT is an epic fail

Yep, Lawson went full on stove on that play. Guy is such a beast.

https://3downnation.com/2025/06/22/b-c-lions-ol-kory-woodruff-claims-bombers-willie-jefferson-triggered-ejection-for-abuse-of-official-with-dirty-play/

The fact he won’t give details or take responsibility with out passing blame makes me think they won’t find any thing on further examination of the film.

Is it messed up though that I kind of hope Wj gets suspended a game? Then we have to adjust the roster and give person a shot, and probably dress a real back up de.
Then wj can come back angry and motivated. Maybe get back to pressures and sacks.

Save for that  confused looking couple series right at end of first half the oline played just fine

Noticed On the ZC int to Demski...nice clean pocket..wtf tho with that heave by ZC?? All kinds of time and basically hucks it off back foot...he could have stepped up and planted and fired a dart..but floats a duck...is it panic in his head?

Another key thing on the Parker int...pressure up gut by Lawson forced a hurried and high throw...Jake...pops up and is just washed to the side...we would be so lights out on defence with right personel...or even just proper rotation and who is on feild in certain schemes...its just little things that make huge impacts over course of game

Obviously I rewatching lol
