Yup...shouldn't be a cake walk but I can see us cruising...

They "should" be better this week, at home and with film on us......but Masoli is a real wild card, he certainly looked "ridged" last game, maybe he has "loosened up" this week in practice, but due kinda looked like he had Kerwin Bell level mobility...

I don't expect Peterson to be as good as last week, but I sure would love to see it again, and I hope to see the "freight train" punish a few players. We completely shut down BC''s run game, it was beautifully done If we can do it again, I don't see us loosing, but with Masoli, they may try and lean on/establish the run harder than last week.......

They are getting IMO a big boost back on teh D-line with Teuhema back, and we changed our o-line, perhaps this is a spot where we could struggle, we handled it so well last week, this week will be a bigger challange.

Beryhill out, probably hurts them, but Clercious not 100% hurts us

I think IF we play specials like we did last week and "win" the field position battles, we should come out on top tonight.....Easily no, I don't think so, but IF we can get them into some adversity early, they may start to allow some self-doubt to creep in

Keys to the game

keep the ol play level up. Vanterpool out and paddy a little knicked, our ol needs to keep growing and improving can’t step back now.

Old zach back. He looked a lot better in pre season/camp than much of last year, need to see peak Zach this year and a good start will go a long way.

Limit the big plays. Last week B.C. dug out from the verge of a blow out with big plays.

players to watch Cooley/Peterson, vaval, bridges, Parker, zach, Wallace.

Key...on defence none this sit back and try and make Masollli beat our back end....He's smart and seen enough in his time he could gouge us....Pressure pressure and bring guys from different looks

ZC....Not get too greedy and deep shot addicted early...set a tone...and let game come to us

Ground and pound with both backs...actually start Cooley as BC I am sure has prepped for Peterson...catch em off guard

What would stop Peterson would stop Cooley, so have the running back leak out into the flats as a receiver from time to time. With all the changes in the Lions, it ought to be reasonably easy to confuse their defence and offence.

Cooley actually is a power back with finesse.  A work horse..a bit different feom Peterson and sometimes just the out of nowhere change messes teams up.

I figure Peterson gets some early carries but Cooley ends up carrying the load the rest of the way. And that's not a knock on Peterson, I just think Cooley is a stud in waiting

Yeah...hes the kind of back not seen up here in a while...be interesting his use...and production and moving forward if we find a way to have all 3 guys rostered...that be quite a backfield

I want to see a formation with Peterson Cooley Demski Chris-Ike and Streveler lined up together all at once. Add Logan when he's healthy and let them just take turns running the eff out of it.

Jesus christ lol. It reminds me of that stupid misdirection play Mike Kelly had before the snap. Brock Ralph in a sweep motion, withe the rb and someone else all running behind Bishop before the snap, they'd all bonk their heads together like the 3 stooges.

And of course add Brady when he's ready.

Ha ha! Hogan's no slouch. He can figure it out. Multiple runners in the backfield at the same time. Misdirection. Vary the gaps. Rinse & repeat. O-line would love it.

Hogan has brain cells, Mike Kelly had none and no hair.

We’ve been using heavy set 11 and 21 forms since before the 19 gc.
It wasn’t a man scheme either, you can see the double to kola he just couldn’t get over so they closed gaps.
Eli did do a great job switching to outside leverage and walling off for Brady to kick out. That’s the tremendous stuff he can do especially in the run game.

Honestly we see it a lot in the cfl these days. Teams unprepared for fits with unexpected motion and formations. Which leads to massive rush games. The narrowing of the hash marks forced defensive shifts to cover more on the wide side.

I firmly believe the future has tremendous opportunities for teams running 21/22 forms with tes motioning on and off the line, waggling, and a wing type doing the jet/comet motion and screens. Teams don’t have the personnel to defend larger run fits or larger slot players.

He’s a real unique type. Hes 5’7 220+ and has explosive quickness with decent gears.
Hes soo compact and strong, he gives such a small target for defenders, and he’s as strong as most lbers he will face. Hes well set up to over power half the guys on the field on any play.
He has great patience and vision to not just find his lane and hit cutbacks but he can take him self off angle at the last second. Which boosts his power but also can keep him healthy.

We gotta teach the guy to catch passes and field punts. Because he’s got a whole lot of special in his game.

Last game on several plays neuf pulled to the left and sealed off the edge too..active oline schemes

This pre game game kinda sucks.

I don't know what's more embarrassing....the fan turnout in Cal or the actual play   ....AND what appears to be crappy camera work, resulting in a picture that looks like they are playing under water

Yeah looking forward to what he can do on this field..especially with a lot of reps and get in sync...true bell cow back that has moves and lateral ability and brute power...

They basically are... It is torrential rain in Calgary right now. Something like 100+ mm rain expected from Friday night through Sunday.
