Really easy to always say that there's some mystical coach out there that would be a better fit.  We've been through generations as CFL fans watching teams including our own who keep believing that.

CFL Draft tomorrow … really curious if we find a way to take Findlay (probably at 6) or Beauchemin in the first couple rounds. Makes sense for us.

Would like to walk away with one of those two and a couple trench bodies after two rounds.

Tuesday.  I think either DB or LB in the first for you guys.

I’m hoping Fortin is there at our pick and we take him. I’d take Alford if he’s available too, only an nfl camp invite good chance he’s here this year. Tremendous character, size, athleticism, good production down south too. We need to groom replacements for Demski and more depth.
Shand and Saad would be great fits for our 30 front and as 3t in the 40.

I think we have a good chance to get a project able db with big upside in the draft at a bunch of spots. Haie, cumberbatch, Findlay, Beauchemin etc a guy we can groom, use on teams and play in a limited role for now. Like ford did as a rookie.

ol, dl, db, wr maybe more than 1 ol in the top few picks. Db and dl are deep with great athletes. Our top 5 picks could all make the team.

Im hoping we can grab Pyle mid to late, and Sénécal late in the draft to develop as a super sub versatile Canadian.

I worked at the Met Theatre through the entire run of the original Longest Yard.

Month after freaking month staring at Burt Reynolds hairline.

Anything other than OL/DL in the first couple picks seems like a waste. Then you go BPA.

Oof I’ll take caretakers exit instead

Yes sir.

Ed Lauter's face turn was the best part of the flick.

Depends on when the linemen run begins. We have a ton of top end talent available at a bunch of positions.  The linemen run should start 2-3 picks before us. Which should leave us in a great spot to get a guy we will be very happy with.

Ya I trust Walters at any rate... Curious what impact the new guy from the Als has on our draft this year.

Who is the shedeur of the cfl draft. In other words a guy who been hyped who isn’t that great and will drop.

All of the QBs especially Elgersma and also oshinubi imo.

None with  famous dad. Would Sask be the Cleveland equivalent.

Honestly I think edm is the browns equivalent these days.
None of these guys are known to be toxic waste heaps either. Just the guys I think are held higher in the ranking by pundits than will be by teams.

There’s a TON of OL … I wouldn’t be upset if we passed on one in the first

If there’s tons of oline and they all grade out similarly, I wouldn’t be opposed to a more skilled position player like DB or LB especially if the depth there isn’t as deep as OL. I’d prefer they get away from Canadians on the DL and go all American there so I’d be not going DL.

DB LB OL RB WR is where I’d be looking. No particular order. Maybe BPA

Reason? That’s where we play most our Canadians.

7 Canadian starters right or is it 8. I’m never sure anymore. You don’t need Canadian DL to hit the ratio requirements.

Its true I think we can get useful ok in rounds 3/4 that would normally be late first guys. If Fortin fell to us in the first I’d take him, I’m high on him. Other wise yeah if we use picks in the 2-4 range to get an ol or two we will be in good shape.
I’d love to get Pyle in the 4th or 5th.

Yep, the big difference is intangibles. Which are a big deal especially to us. But the guy we like the most might be available in the 3rd or 4th.

I feel like lber is a trap pick. We’ve seen lots of guys high in the draft and few who’ve brought value. Db is interesting though.

Rb is interesting. A mid pick on a guy with versatility who is a runner first and fore most would be great. Even if they sit for a year on the pr.

we need a ni dl who is rotational after Lawson because we are strapped for dis and need to keep guys protected like Willy.

I could see us targeting Winnipeg’s Gavin Coates. He’s an excellent inside prospect with size to play G but a natural C. Nasty and explosive, not as rangy but still good to get to the second level.

This draft has a few guys who could stick at RT too. Which is a tremendous value.

What round is Coates likely to go in?

coakes* sorry my auto correct hates his name.

i think 3rd would be early for him. but if some one is really high in him and the linemen run goes deep and early he could go there. I also think he’s tremendous value in the 4th.
4th round is kind of the start of the draft getting wild teams don’t worry about reaching any more at that point. If we could get him in the 4th or 5th that would be excellent.

He isn’t going to be ready for tc start, and he doesn’t have the athleticism the top and 2nd tier guys do. But I think he’s an extremely high floor guy. Normally he’d be a top 5 ol, and the pro ready pick (if 100%). But this draft is deep at ol with tons of big athletic guys and that hurts his placement.

Of all the QBs, if you had to take a guy. All available. Who.

Tachinski as a converted receiver

For me, Sénécal.

He can be molded into a rb/wr super sub who also does short yardage duty, and can run a package like streveler if you want.

I don’t see near enough incentive to flip the qb ratio, and I don’t see the upside or polish in the rest of the QBs that is any thing you can’t easily find in imp rookie free agent QBs at all times.

none cheat answer, if I had to take one qb as a qb it’d be elgersma. I think he has better mobility (especially after the acl for rourke) better size, and more arm talent.

I like him as well as a project guy, especially since he’s been in our camp before and is extremely familiar with the organization.
