Tucker Carlson??  Tucker ******* Carlson?!!!! That guy might be the biggest asshat that has ever lived.  Nothing he spouts can be considered ‘information’.

I think Command will be a good fit eventually - Button had him going 10th overall in his last mock draft but he's probably a 2-3 seasons away.

You've got an immediate roster player (Mercer), a potential upgrade at back-up goalie (Daws), a pipeline 2C prospect (Command), and a couple of picks. Bjugstad was for sure a throw-in by NJD for cap space - he's a pending RFA who's on LTIR until at least January so his time here is probably pretty limited. I don't mind the return, especially that goalie trades have low value, historically. I do feel he probably could have gotten a better deal pre-draft though.

Bjugstad is 34. He’ll be an UFA

Nov 10. Can get 2 tickets for 100 from ticketmaster.

That could be the most raucous Winnipeg crowd since Dieter Brock came back with Hamilton on September 15, 1984. Who ya gonna call? Brock-busters!!

Yep, meant UFA, which is why his time here could be short.

Yup. Pretty sure Mercer is an RFA in July.

Scanning the world wide web, early results on who won the trade are Winnipeg got fleeced.

I'm hoping in the next five seasons or so Helle struggles stopping these:

not sure how we could have gotten fleeced here, unless we traded Helle for literally nothing AND chose to pay his salary for the rest of his contract as well. Getting something for a 33 year old goalie who didn't want to be here and can't stop a darn thing in the playoffs is the best option.

Mercer is a big part of the investment the New Jersey Devils made in their future when they traded Taylor Hall, the 2017-18 Hart Trophy winner voted as NHL most valuable player, to the Arizona Coyotes on Dec. 16, 2019, for the right to take the Carbonear, Newfoundland, native with the No. 18 pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. He signed a three-year, $12 million contract with the Devils on Sept. 20, 2024, after completing his third NHL season with 33 points (20 goals, 13 assists) in 82 games.

Mercer broke Scott Gomez's Devils/Colorado Rockies/Kansas City Scouts record when he played his 141st consecutive game to start an NHL career, scoring twice including 2:30 into overtime of a 4-3 win against the Los Angeles Kings at Prudential Center on Feb. 25, 2023. He got his 100th NHL point (a goal) in a 4-2 home loss to the Washington Capitals on Nov. 10, 2023, and scored twice in his 200th NHL game, a 6-3 win at the Capitals on Jan. 3, 2024. His first NHL hat trick came in a 5-1 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Newark, New Jersey, on April 4, 2023.

Mercer completed the 2021-22 season as the only Devils skater to play all 82 games. He scored his first NHL goal against the Seattle Kraken on Oct. 19, becoming the first New Jersey player to score against the 2021 expansion team, and is the first player in franchise history to wear No. 91.

Nothing Winnipeg Sports fans love more than showing up to boo those that turn their backs on the Peg....lol...glad to hear that Ehlers wasn't booed.

What are the odds he doesn't even play that game?

Ya everything in reading so far is that the Jets got hosed. Talking heads couldn't believe that Utah or Buffalo couldn't do better than what NJD gave up.

Yea unfortunately i agree, we didn't even get a no.1 in 2027, why did we get Daws? First trade i can honestly say Chevy lost especially compared to the Buffalo deal he refused in the offseason? Mercer ain't gonna move the needle, why not wait till the trading deadline??????

I am hoping this Command kid is the sleeper in this deal.

Easy for me to name his worst...in order to dump Steve Mason's contract he also gave MTL Joel Armia, 2019 7th round pick and a 2020 4th round pick. The Canadiens put Mason on waivers in order to buy out his contract and he retired. He was never the same after multiple concussions here.

The Jets were a pretty bad team heading into the playoffs when they gave up Brendan Lemieux, a 2019 1st round pick and a 2022 conditional 4th round pick for Kevin Hayes who made Ray Neufeld look good.

And of course a 2nd and 4th for Luke Schenn.

Let the Helle rebranding tour begin starting with you all meant so much to me but it was time I moved on but will cherish my time there.

gross GIF

Just a heads up to the Devils, if things don’t work out for Helle the way he wants it to over there, be prepared for a malcontent throwing his teammates and management under the bus.

I say we dress Buff for the first 5 minutes of the heritage classic, let him do his thing with a few les habs players then the refs will do their thing showing him where the showers are, he enjoys a beer beer and head off fishing without even staying for the rest of the game.

Yeah but does he want to play that badly if it means coming back here? Kind of begs the question who is more desperate the Jets or him
