More of the issue here is quality not quantity with KC's motto win now.

That was a crazy haul. If I remember we did an awesome trade for Kane And Bogo and got some pretty wicked players in return for that one. Say what you will about Chevy. He does make some really good trades for this team.

Now I hope we can be competitive and get our second line going

Yeah, it doesn’t blow my doors off. Bjugstad is old and injured and Daws is not really needed. Got to think NJ insisted on them being apart of the deal. I like Mercer and Command was the 12th pick last year, so some obvious potential there. The 2nd in 2029 is decent too.

I'll say this - I trust Chevy if he says this was the best deal he could get.

I'd assume Command is something to like. I do agree it would have been nice had we received a decent depth player rather then Daws/Bjugstad.

Was anyone else confused when they listed Command as part of the package?

I had to do some further research to discover in a he's a prospect.

Ya Command is hard to say... He's only 18 and is still playing in Sweden. I assume he'll be in World Juniors this year .. will be interesting to see. The rest of it is a giant bag of meh, but if this was the best deal possible then so be it

I think Command will be a good fit eventually - Button had him going 10th overall in his last mock draft but he's probably a 2-3 seasons away.

You've got an immediate roster player (Mercer), a potential upgrade at back-up goalie (Daws), a pipeline 2C prospect (Command), and a couple of picks. Bjugstad was for sure a throw-in by NJD for cap space - he's a pending RFA who's on LTIR until at least January so his time here is probably pretty limited. I don't mind the return, especially that goalie trades have low value, historically. I do feel he probably could have gotten a better deal pre-draft though.
